I love Toyota Highlanders, and had a 2014 Limited Platinum Highlander that I loved. We decided to start looking for a newer model with the same trim level. Easier said than done. We started looking about 6 months ago close to our home in WV. We had a two week driving trip planned that would take us through Asheville on our way back home. As we got closer to Asheville, my phone let me know there was a car nearby that might be a match. I jokingly told my husband we should go look at it, never thinking it would be the exact cat I was looking for, let alone the right price. We had low expectations, but decided to take a look. We couldn't have been more wrong. It was exactly what I wanted and Justin's pricing was more than fair. We certainly weren't prepared to trade cars in the middle of a trip. But, Justin made the entire process easy, and we were beyond grateful for his willingness to help us make it happen. We had a nice after market remote start in our old car that we wanted to keep, and brand new (expensive) tires that we didn't want to part with. He helped us find a local Best Buy and a Mr. Tire that worked us in quickly and made everything happen. Needless to say we left Asheville happy, and I came home with best souvenir ever. I had a very narrow idea of what used car I wanted (I'm picky about some weird things, OK?) and Justin's manner and clear communication convinced me to buy a used car sight unseen and have it shipped to me in Boston. Justin overnighted me the paperwork and texted me updates every step of the process. Justin and the rest of the Silver State staff were patient in navigating some hurdles with the shipper I was using, who weren't the clearest communicators. The car is absolutely perfect. Less than a week of having purchased a car from here, transmission went out, Kings fixed it, check engine light came on for catalytic converter, supposedly fixed it. Now that I am replacing the entire Engine Assembly because of a disintegrated catalytic converter, I'm upside down with more than $7000 in repairs for a car I owe $8000 on. Sorry Warranty doesn't cover that. You are taking a gamble at buying a real expensive hunk of junk here. Proceed with SERIOUS CAUTION consumers. Owner claims not their fault because they had invoice dated 9-1 for converter repair and I have video of code reader and dash 9-4. Greyson never gave me the repair person nor number to follow up if there was a faulty converter. I was basically told at that time sorry not our problem we fixed what we did as a courtesy. I'm not looking to blame anyone. I'm just saying people need to be aware of the potentially HUGE losses they risk on a gamble. $8,000 car loan plus $7,000 repairs. What a mess?! BEWARE

Took the car home overnight and to my auto mechanic to check it out the next day. He put it on the lift. It was extremely rusted out underneath. Never saw so much rust. Would've been a nightmare if anything needed to be replaced or repaired under there. I took it back. Told the saleswoman. Someone knew this about the car because if they changed the oil and did their inspection like they said they did they would've seen the extent of the rust. Saleswoman wanted to show me another car. (She was very personable.) But now I don't trust them. And it looks like that car is still on the lot. Buyer beware and if you are looking at a used car there be SURE to have your mechanic check it out before you buy it. The warranty was 1,000 miles or 30 days, powertrain only, so I would've been up s***s creek and out all the money I have to buy a car.

Apparently, poor customer service starts at the top! It's easy to be professional when you're making a profit off your customers, but apparently much more difficult if they have to actually work. -- We've had an incredibly frustrating experience with the service department at Stott Ford. What should have been a straightforward repair has dragged out for over three weeks with minimal communication from their team. The service manager has shown little to no accountability or advocacy on behalf of the customer. Instead, we were left to act as the go-between for two separate service departments and their respective managers--something that should never fall on the customer. Getting any sort of update has been a challenge. Calls to the service department often result in being left on hold for 15-30 minutes, only to receive vague or incomplete information--if we get a response at all. I even followed up with emails yesterday and have yet to hear anything back. It's deeply disappointing to see such a lack of professionalism and customer care. We expected better and unfortunately cannot recommend Stott Ford based on this experience.
