My husband and I had one of the best (if not THE best) car buying experiences ever at Silver State Imports just a couple of months ago. I love Toyota Highlanders, and had a 2014 Limited Platinum Highlander that I loved. We decided to start looking for a newer model with the same trim level. Easier said than done. We started looking about 6 months ago close to our home in WV. We had a two week driving trip planned that would take us through Asheville on our way back home. As we got closer to Asheville, my phone let me know there was a car nearby that might be a match. I jokingly told my husband we should go look at it, never thinking it would be the exact cat I was looking for, let alone the right price. We had low expectations, but decided to take a look. We couldn't have been more wrong. It was exactly what I wanted and Justin's pricing was more than fair. We certainly weren't prepared to trade cars in the middle of a trip. But, Justin made the entire process easy, and we were beyond grateful for his willingness to help us make it happen. We had a nice after market remote start in our old car that we wanted to keep, and brand new (expensive) tires that we didn't want to part with. He helped us find a local Best Buy and a Mr. Tire that worked us in quickly and made everything happen. Needless to say we left Asheville happy, and I came home with best souvenir ever. By far one of the best business experiences I've ever had. Justin is knowledgeable, personable, funny, and a clear and consistent communicator. I had a very narrow idea of what used car I wanted (I'm picky about some weird things, OK?) and Justin's manner and clear communication convinced me to buy a used car sight unseen and have it shipped to me in Boston. Justin overnighted me the paperwork and texted me updates every step of the process. Justin and the rest of the Silver State staff were patient in navigating some hurdles with the shipper I was using, who weren't the clearest communicators. The car is absolutely perfect. Silver State offers luxury used cars that are hard to find in this area. It is rare to find so many European or quality cars in one place. I bought a cream puff Audi Q5 from Justin. Justin is low pressure,funny and honest sales professional. He definitely knows a lot about cars and offered a fair price. I still receive alerts from car gurus for Audi Q5's and yet to find another car for less than my price. My wife needs a new car so we are keeping an eye out for new inventory. One thing I noticed is the car lots inventory never stays the same. This means they know how to procure good value cars so don't hesitate to call bc cars moves faster than their websites shows. read more

Price was very high and the dealer was really stubborn with the price. I believed it was because, dealer would have spent money to take care of any issues in the car. But, I had to spend a lot on repairs within few month of buying the car. Clearly he was hiding the issues in the car or the did not know them. End of day I am at loss. Only later I understood why he kept saying "as is, no warranty". Highly unsatisfied. I wouldn't recommend this dealership anyone. read more

Potentially the worst experience I've ever had with buying a car. The photos of the Nissan Frontier had portrayed the truck as having slight blemishes. When we arrived, however, we discovered that there was significant rust all under the hood & underneath of the truck. While checking the fluids before test driving, we discovered there was not a drop of coolant. We had to call the guy working there to bring coolant out & he proceeded to express he had driven the truck as it was at least twice this week.... clearly without much coolant. There was a single photo of the back seat online, but when we got there, we saw the true condition of the truck. It was as if the previous owner had a large dog that regularly rode in the back seat. There were large & significantly deep scratches all over both back doors on the inside as well as significant scratches in the leather of the back seats. The carpet on the floorboards had brown stains & there were a good amount of body dents. We test drove it & it proved to drive well. When we got back, we expressed that we had done a lot of research & we did not feel comfortable spending $14,000 on a truck in such poor condition. Online resources as well as our mechanic quoted the same year & model truck as high as $12,000.... in good condition. He laughed at us, argued in a very rude tone about how Kelly Blue Book & other online sources do not know anything, & then went to call his boss to ask about lowering the price. He came back to tell us he can go down to the low $14,000s, which we still did not think was fair. Clearly annoyed, although we had been very courteous the entire time, he expressed that we had no idea what the truck was worth & that we didn't know anything that we were talking about. I can only imagine his attitude stems from the two shoppers being young females who called him out on the lack of coolant in the truck. Having been continuously disrespected for our apparent lack of basic common sense, we left. Having been a car salesman, he was very unprofessional & rude. We went on to a different car dealer & found a similar Nissan Frontier- void of the damages & full of coolant- for a fair price & a smile. read more
