Do understand they run out of mostly everything by 11:00 am, there are 2 tables to stand at to eat. No chairs, this is a bakery not a cafe. Coffee and pastry I had was good. Cinnamon roll just ok, not over the top. 3 staff working the counter, service a little slower than I expected they were involved in their own conversations. A small clean white bakery gives it the feel of being a bit larger. The trash bag near the register w trash hanging out was not a good look while I ate my roll and coffee. . Hey Ya'll, It's me your neighborhood foodie. Colette Bakery is one I enjoy going to for the pound cake. Yes Ya'll the pound cake is so yummy and worth every penny. Yes I agree that there is not much meat in the sandwiches but they are not a sub shop and some of the things are pricey but that's because quality baking is expensive and they do run out of stuff but that's because it is so good. I appreciate that the girls are all very polite and to me that alone is worth stopping in for a treat on my lash days. read more

Stopped in to pick up something for friends and found the place to be amazing. Very hard not to want one, okay two, of all of it. Ended up getting chocolate croissants, Fraser's, and an almond/strawberry cheesecake(haven't had it yet but that's what it looks like. The Frasier was delicious. Flaky, buttery. Plenty of raisins and apple pieces. Tough to just stick with one! Next time we're in the Boston area there will be a return trip to try some of their other tasty looking delicacies. read more

We came too late in the day to snag one of the OG croissants but still - what we got was incredible. Colette remains supreme in the Boston-area bakeries. In my neck of the words, the patisseries are Lakon and SALT. Both are fine but neither holds a candle up to Colette. (Backing up a bit: about a year ago, my parents and I came by the Medford location first thing in the morning and walked out with the best chocolate croissant I've ever consumed. I posted a picture, half-eaten, with teeth marks - so not the prettiest but I still think about it.) Anyway, we visited at around 1pm and by then, the pickings were kind of slim. I grabbed the last chocolate croissant and an apple tart for my cousin, and, for me and my husband, the kouign amann and the pecan Paris brest. The KA was unbelievable - laminated flaky layers of dough, not overly buttery, light dusting of sugar. We ate the whole thing in the car. (I should've gotten my own.) I'm not a big fan of maple or pecan desserts but my husband loved the Paris brest. The store features a little alcove in the back with their own brand of chocolates. I spotted macarons, eclairs, and a chicken curry croissant that seemed intriguing but no sandwiches. Sigh. Too bad Melrose/Medford are both such a trek but ... maybe that's a good thing. I went into this place with very high expectations beacuse of the posts I saw and the word of mouth but frankly I was very disappointed. There is barely any food is there. It's like insanely small with an even smaller menu. The few things they have are way too sweet and not good. Also the sizes are tiny for an aboustly absurd amount of many. DO NOT GO HUNGRY! Everything looked so delicious, you'll buy it all. I arrived to Colette's and noticed a line around the building, so worth the wait (first thing in the morning). The wait was maybe 15min in line then from ordering to paying about 5min. The apple turnover, chocolate croissant and chocolate chip cookies were gone before I got home - had I found a spoon in my car, I would have eaten the rest and arrived at home with half of Colette's iced coffee. I have been dying to try Colette, and this morning's visit did not disappoint! The storefront is very bright and all items are displayed so you can see what you'd like to order. I got a chocolate croissant (the Cho-Colette) and a flamenkuche (savory onion, ham and cheese bread) with a cappuccino. Service was great and the girls behind the counter were so friendly! The chocolate croissant was one of the best I've ever had- it was so flaky and buttery without being too much. The flamenkuche and cappuccino were also delicious. Excellent French bakery right in the middle of downtown in Main Street. Have yet to try something that wasn't outstanding: various croissants, pastries, tarts, and breads. All very yummy. Croissants are buttery and flaky. A favorite in our family is the chocolate bread. Soft, dense, and full of chocolate bits. Another highlight is the salami and cornichons sandwich on a baguette. Inside is bright and clean but there's not much in the way of seating so plan to take your treats to go. Highly recommend stopping here when you want to treat yourself to delicious French baked goods. read more

Colette is in Melrose! It's an amazing French bakery/cafe shop. Their first location in Medford was opened during pandemic and I am happy that they are expanding. There are no seating spots in this location but during the summer, customers can dine outside (parklet). If you haven't tried the Chouquettes, please get more than one the next time you visit. I have been getting half a dozen every time but I am may increase to a dozen soon. They are so light, airy and not overly sweet. Their best selling pastry is passion fruit. I'm a huge fan of their original Medford location, so I was beyond excited when I saw they had opened another location. The OG spot always has a huge line, so imagine my surprise when I showed up on a weekend morning and found no line at all here. This will be my go-to spot, as the pastries are just as good as the original. I went a little overboard and ordered half of the things on display to share with some friends for brunch. They were all gorgeous and beautifully baked. My favorite savory item was their daily special chicken curry croissant, which was a pleasant surprise for all of us who tried it. My favorite sweet item is the passionfruit flower, which has always been my favorite at the Medford location. It's so bright and refreshing in the midst of all that laminated pastry, and it's so beautifully balanced between sweet and tart. My friends don't even like passionfruit, and they agreed that this was wonderful. The praline cream-filled pastry I had, and the salted caramel brioche were also delightful. I'll definitely be stopping by every time I visit Boston now that I know how much of a breeze it is to order pastries here. read more

After going twice to their location in Medford, I was excited to try their new location in Melrose, and it did not disappoint! We ordered a Parisian sandwich and a chocolate eclair, both of which were delicious. The sandwich was deceptively simple, just ham, cheese, butter and bread, but the ingredients were all high quality and well balanced. I used to visit the original Medford location and was sad to move away to Melrose. Finding out that a branch was opening up near me was truly heart warming less than a year after I moved. The best part (for now) is that the line is fairly short compared the the Medford location and pastries are just as fantastic. Some of my first experiences were okay but lately everything I have been getting has been superb. Amandier and almond/chocolate croissants are incredible. What a great place! Friendly smiling faces greet you and the laminated breakfast pasteries are amazing and delicious. You can see in the window from the street the various croissants and breads. But we are here for patisserie today. Two kinds of apple, Tarte aux Pommes is the open face apple sliced and Chausson aux Pommes is the laminated dough with purée apple inside. Tarte Citron is my mom's favorite. I love the flan Parisian and Dad loves the eclairs. Plenty of street parking, which is a big improvement over their original location. It is good and disappointing at the same time. The bread is good, but the pastries fall short. The lemon tart misses the "tart" part. The tart pomme the same. When making a tart pomme the choice of apple counts, the ones they seem to choose have little taste and tend to be undercooked. The apple turnover is not made with cut apples, it is made with apple sauce, making them very messy, and again with the choice of apples. There is a reason why they are a French bakery and not a Patisserie. I am underwhelmed at the choice and taste of all the pastries. read more

The food is great. The service is terrible. When walking in it seems as if it is nothing but an inconvenience for the staff to have to possibly speak to you and take your order. How dare you interrupt their conversations with each other to simply order a baguette and a pastry.
