We were starving and strapped for time so my cousin suggested we check out honey honey for lunch. I never would've thought to hit up a desert spot for lunch. As you can imagine, the lunch menu wasn't huge but comprehensive and very reasonably priced. We ordered an assortment of dishes, but the favorites were the pork bean noodle, stir fried udon, and the pop corn chicken. I like this place for its casual and relaxing ambiance. This cafe is super relaxing and very spacious. They got the seats near the window, booths, and tables for different parties. You'll often find people studying or doing work near the windows, families and friends at the tables, and larger parties in the booths. I think naturally this place always has a nice and peaceful vibe. A perfect place to grab dessert and settle down after a long day. Between 4 adults and 3 kids we shared and were too full to finish the fried bread, two puff waffles, 2 scoop of vanilla and strawberry ice cream, and a bowl of mango, sago, grass jelly, and coconut milk. My friend usually liked their avocado smoothie but found it to taste mostly like ice cream that day. Fried bread was hot and necessary to be served with the side of condensed milk as it was very plain on its own. Puff waffle had a subtle sweetness which made it easy to munch on. Both were soft but the waffle had a better chew to it. The coconut milk was also simply flavored with the toppings which made the vanilla ice cream a distinct addition. Overall, we had a good experience. Menu was huge including breakfast options, sandwiches, rice, boba, and lots of desserts. Staff wasn't the nicest and didn't want to open a second can of condensed milk leaving us with barley enough to cover the bottom of the tiny container. I got an avocado mango smoothie with boba and popcorn chicken. There were also sweet dessert soups and pastries at the front counter. The smoothie had a good creamy texture from the avocado, but you couldn't really taste any mango in it. The popcorn chicken came out hot and crispy, but wasn't anything super special and felt like it could use more seasoning. We've tried their mango madness w/ IC (#2), mango + sago + grass jelly + coconut milk w/ IC (#15), cold sesame soup, egg puffs, and korean style popcorn chicken. They're all pretty good but I especially love all of the different flavors and textures from #15. I would probably get the #2 again on a really hot day if I wanted something slightly more fruity and refreshing. But why the 2 stars you ask? Coconut Drink w/ Red Bean & Grass Jelly- Even with these 3 ingredients mushed into a cup, I was hoping there would be a distinct taste for each of them. For some reason, whether it's the silky grass jelly, coconut milk, or red bean, they all tasted very bland. Black & White- Basically, this was just black sticky rice in coconut milk, again without flavor. Because the sticky rice had sunken to the bottom of the bowl sitting in milk, it broke apart creating a pellet texture when we we're trying to eat it. Overall Service: I wanted to try some of the items I saw from the pictures on their own Yelp page but oddly enough, the staff couldn't identify them so we had to wing it with the two choices above. I've only had desserts here so I cannot comment on their sandwiches and what not. Hong Kong egg puffs are not bad. Not the worst, not the best. Kind of in between. I like how it's still crispy but inside is slightly not thoroughly cook. Mango Madness is okay. Needs work. #14 is my favorite so far from there but it also needs work. Kind of bland. Hot red bean soup and sago soup is tasteless. It's been sitting in my fridge for over a week and I haven't touched it. Only ate half of the thing and the portions aren't huge so it's definitely going in the trash this weekend. Smoothies are okay. I feel like there's more choices elsewhere. Came here for a last minute cake pick up to surprise a friend the next day. They had limited sizes because of the time or the day I called. They were able to make it in an hour after I called since I had another appointment prior to that. Both desserts were perfectly portioned for one, and in that sense, they are a tad bit expensive, but for how unique they are, I would gladly pay that price again. We let it seep for about 15 - 20 minutes after we got it since one look at it and we could tell it would be too bland. This was the same for the Jasmine tea that we also ordered. A beautiful and clean space for dessert. Counter service was friendly. Unfortunately, there was not much to desire when it came to the food and dessert and drink we ordered. We had the curry fish ball which I thought would be like the ones you get at stands during events in Chinatown but these were no where the same. I am unsure if they would have tasted better if they were't so cold. What bothered me most was the curry had no real flavor or depth. This dish tasted like frozen fish balls that were thawed and served in a weak watery curry broth. And when I say watery, I mean the curry tasted like water and curry powder. This one dish made me weary to come back and try their other food items. The popcorn chicken was actually the only decent hit item we had. Crispy small bites with a slight spicy kick. Unfortunately our fried cream custard didn't have enough condensed milk. Without the condensed milk to top it off, it just tasted like fried bland custard. Please do yourself a favor and go back and ask for more condensed milk if they don't give you enough. Don't be a fool like us. For dessert we ordered the Snow White. This was shaved ice topped with half black jelly and half mango. I don't have a sweet tooth but this dessert was very lightly sweetened. Maybe it would have tasted better with a tad bit more sugar. Just my view. Also had the chocolate lava cake. The cake was dry and the lava was not oozing out. I must say, this was an attempt at a hard to pull off dessert. Unless made to order, I really don't think having pre-made and later reheated lava cake is going to cut it. My overall experience was very underwhelming. I was really exited about this place and wanted to like it and give a good review but of all the stuff I have tried, I am not eager to revisit anytime soon.
