I was looking for some nice for Dungeons & Dragons for a friend for their birthday and I knew this was a good place to check. I arrive soon after they opened and interacted with the employees immediately. I was told and if I need anything to just let them know, and I just said, dice. They appointed me to the back of the store and told me where they would be. I wandered them back and took a look at their selection. I immediately found a set that would fit the bill for this occasion. I looked through a bunch of the store before having someone get them from the cabinet for me. I felt that I did really good because I only bought one comic book. I love these stores because everyone is friendly that works in them and I can always find way too many things that I want to buy. If you have young children that are struggling to start reading, you should consider starting them on comic books and getting them to actually read the words in them because it has been proven that children who start with comic books tend to learn to read younger, and then read throughout their lives . Obviously, you should only buy things that you feel are safe for your children, and there is always something to fit that bill. read more

I collect Silver and Bronze age comics and it was a huge pleasure to see so many of these eras when I first came into the store. Sadly, the pricing is probably 30-40% higher than the same grades from sellers around the country on ebay (even with postage). I would much prefer to buy local and support small businesses, but pricing has to be within reason. I used my phone app to check values online and just couldn't justify pulling the trigger on anything. That said, clean store, great inventory, and if you have to have that special comic right now at any price... they may have it. read more

This store has a good selection of boardgames, comics and popular tcgs such as pokemon and magic the gathering. The service is ok, though I am always disappointed by the value of what you get as there are rarely any discounts or sales as you can generally find things cheaper online. The organized play events dont match what I am looking for and the store feels more like a corporation than a LGS. The owner is really nice though and makes his own board games so he knows his stuff. If you are building your own boardgame, this might be the store for you to try to setup a community or network with. read more

Compared to its sister locations this one is medium sized. There are a few of this chain around the central Florida area. This one is the closest to the millenia mall. it isn't an area that gets extremely busy and the parking lot can be a bit chaotic. So be sure to watch where you're going because people don't necessarily follow the stop sign rules. They do have all of the same things that their sister location scary. They have everything from comic books to Funko pops. it's always neat to look around and see what they have to offer. This one like it sister stores, also has a calendar of events, four things that they do on-site, such as tabletop game night. Staff is always extremely friendly at the store and super quick to be helpful with any information or locating items you may need. Overall: A Friendly, knowledgeable staff and great merch. I've been holding off on this review for about 6 months now, with hopes that this store would turn it around... but, things still remain just as bad. So, I've been here a million times and spent a lot of money here but this store has easily gone downhill. Their back issue prices are beyond expensive. They seem to think it's still early 2021 during the "comic boom" with these prices. All the books are listed at about 2X or sometimes 3X their value. I go in there now and just shake my head and leave empty-handed. If you love "Big Band Theory" the TV series, you will like this store. This store way bigger than the the store in the Big Band Theory TV series set that the store own by Stuart Bloom in TV. Geek and comic frenzy should check this store out. It has the vintage comic book. If miss one book of the series, may be they have it. The are plenty of action figure on display. Some worth a few hundred. I am guess if you are the collector, it may worth a lot more to you. They new comic book that just come out. At the vintage series, I have seen the iron man, Spider-Man, X-men, fantastic four and more. The have whole section of stars war series. The series now even carry the digital copy. Go figure. Found this place completely at random, on a visit to a Game Stop next door. Couldn't tell much from the outside, but I decided to go in and have a look. Its a reasonably sized store, filled wall-to-wall with comics and cool stuff. Plenty of graphic novels if you are in to that. Plus, many action figures and pop culture toys. It is a must visit if you collect those Pop! vynil figurines, they have some that I've never seen before. People working there seemed very nice and didn't have the usual snob attitude. read more

Have purchased comics and games from coliseum for over twenty years. Have always had an excellent relationship with buying stuff at coliseum. I just bought packs of the new Lorcana game from them cause I'm just used to getting charged msrp and excellent service, I've always been willing to pay msrp when I can get stuff cheaper at coolstuff games or gamenerdz because I like supporting the local shop. I bought a board game as well. After I left I realized I couldn't figure out how much I paid. Cause my total seemed way to high. I call them back to check on the amount they charged for a pack to be informed it's $10. The MSRP for the packs is 5.99. That's insane. I understand that the game is in demand. I would have expected them to at least comment on the amount per pack. Most likely lost a customer for life on this interaction alone. So sorry for such an obvious money grab. Will be buying future Lorcana stuff from also local cool stuff for cheaper. Edit Found out everyone seems to be price gouging for this game right now. Sad to see local game stores taking advantage of their loyal customers passion. Will give a star back to bring to two. read more

I would probably consider myself a pretty big comic nerd. When I moved to Orlando from Atlanta I was pretty skeptical on the comic shops here until i found this one off OBT of all places. I would have to say that this is one of the best comic stores that i have ever been to. From when you first open the doors they are greeting you with a warm hello. Then you will notice that they have a Book shelf of DC, Indy's, & Marvel all in alphabetical order, so everything is very easy to find. My Favorite thing is The Subscription service, where you tell them all your favorite comics and they put a folder in a box and every wednesday they have it full so you don't have to go around looking or worry about that comic selling out. One of my favorite things to do when visiting a new city is to go to local comic book shops. I was so excited to come here as the reviews and pictures seemed like it was a great store. It didn't disappoint from most aspects. Walking in you are hit with the size of this place. There as things to look at literally everywhere. It's well lit and pretty well organized as well. I love as greeted at the door and that's really all I ask for at a place like this because I know what I'm looking for and its something that isn't hard to find...X-Men. So I find my beloved mutant books and start diving in and immediately I'm astounded at the prices they have things listed for. We're talking non-key issues that pretty much everywhere else are between $2-$3 per issue and here they are $4-$8! The other thing that I was surprised by is how bad some copies they had were for the price. Below average copies are $4 while the same one in good shape is $12. Again, these aren't wall books that you expect to pay bigger bucks for, these are non-key issues. I spent about fifteen minutes and found three books that I felt were priced somewhat acceptably and went to the counter to check out. The woman who helped me was really very nice. She asked if I was a member of their punch card loyalty program, and I explained that I lived in JAX and that I wasn't. She gave me a card, and a list of their other locations and was really super pleasant. I also brought up the condition of a couple of the comics and she got her manager who gave me $1 off each book and I felt that was totally fair. I know that because of the location they are in that they have a lot of overhead. But I'll tell you that some of the prices are really pretty inflated here and if I come back I'll know what to expect next time. These people have a heck of a store. But with all of that inventory and square footage to pay for you are paying a premium shopping here. They made a good impression from a customer service standpoint. read more

I truly do love this place. Settled in the hustle and bustle of the touristy Millenia area, Coliseum comics of Millenia has that hole in the wall LCS feel, but it's so much more. I have visited comic shops in big towns and they fell short of what you would expect when you visit a big city comic shop but at coliseum Millenia your expectations will be met. Large supply of newly released titles from the major publications including variants. Huge back issue supply in store for you to peruse through Large wall of key issues, but you can still find some keys in the long boxes of key issues. If their keys weren't marked so high, I'd give them 5 stars. Local art displayed, figurines/collectibles, posters, gaming materials - you will find it here. They also have a large warehouse, so if you're really in need of something, call in advance and maybe thy can get it for you. They also have a stamp system. So more you buy, you can apply your stamps to another purchase. If you're like me, you can rack up stamps fast. So if you're in the area shopping and want a few hours to kill, stop on by coliseum at Millenia and be whisked away in a vast sea of all things comics. read more

Yes, the place looks nice, but what kind of self-respecting nerd would pay retail prices at a retail location for products that you can easily buy online for 30-40% less than the retail markup? In my opinion, the only reason a purveyor of these kinds of goods would shop for this kind of stuff in person as opposed to shopping online is because of customer service, and that's the one thing these guys f*cked up on during my first (and last) visit. I asked a (male, short dark hair, ectomorph) employee a super-simple question, "do you do pre-owned trades?" and this guy completely scoffed at me, "'do?' whaddaya mean, 'do'?" I was asking if the store dealt in used (a.k.a., "pre-owned") trade paperbacks like other comic shops I know in back in California, but he basically continued by turning his nose up at me and snubbing me with a dirty and completely unfriendly look, saying "all the books in here are new", but his gesture and body language signaled contempt and exasperation at my question. He came across as a complete jerk/comic snob. Seriously, the only reason anybody would still walk into a shop like this (as opposed to saving 30-40% by shopping for titles online) is for a decent, personable customer service experience, and since he got that one aspect completely wrong, I saw no reason to spend any money here and left. Today was payday, I was on vacation and in the mood for buying some books for my return plane trip, and I was even excited at coincidentally passing a comic shop while on vacation, but this soured my experience. I'll spend my dollars at another shop that doesn't make customers feel like idiots just for asking a question. Be glad that I even decided to stop and walk through your door instead of just parking the rental car and ordering exactly the books I wanted from the Amazon app on my phone. Successful businesses have consistent customer service, and especially a retail business dealing in a niche product like comic books would want to treat every customer like their only customer. I've yet to see a comics shop that could afford NOT to do this. My room mate and I don't really collect comic books but we do collect many Disney things. One of the things we try to buy are Dreamfinder and Figment items so when they came out with a series of comics featuring them, we wanted to buy them for our collection. Not knowing anything about current comic book culture, I ventured into the store a few months ago looking for the first issue and soon discovered I was late already and they had the comic but it was a 2nd printing. I am guessing that does not make it as valuable as a first printing. I bought it anyway and soon discovered that my room mate had already found a first printing copy on line. (now we have two!) I went back in the other day to look for issue #2 and again, I was too late and they did not even have any copies left but the young lady helping me said that she had a copy that she was going to buy but said I could have it. It was a 2nd printing also and she said another delivery was coming in soon with a 3rd printing and she would just get that one. It was super nice of her to give up her own copy for me. Not only did I get that issue but was able to get issue #3 (first printing) at the same time since it had just come in the day before. So now I have the first 3 issues and I believe there are 2 or 3 more coming out soon. I just have to make sure I am there when they come out! The staff was very friendly to me. They offered help as I walked around the store looking at many of the models and toys. I look forward to visiting them again. Enjoy! read more

I work at a comic shop in California and couldn't wait to see what Orlando had to offer; Coliseum of Comics was easily my favorite of the three I visited! Organization is the hardest part of the biz in my opinion, and this store really shines. Gorgeous back issue wall, eye-catching statues displayed on the way in, neat selection of toys, and well-stocked TP's. Most important though was the helpful and enthusiastic customer service. I've been a customer for 6 years, bought almost $3000 in comics. I didn't need to go to the store. I started to go because of Charity, Zander and Joey. Their customer service was amazing! They were the reason I became a customer. Lately, they changed the management and all 3 left the company. Customer services sucks! I felt extremely uncomfortable going to the stores. I subscribed some issues and some of them I didn't want anymore. The atmosphere was very uncomfortable. I complained about it and they didn't care. I think is a generation thing. Tony from Millenia Mall has a bad customer services. I just bought a $300 layaway and I had $60 of of stamp card. I used some of my back issues bills and 2 of my stamp cards at the store in Clermont. Also, I spoke with Dani from that store explaining my disappointmemt with the stores. He didn't care and didn't like my comments. I told him that I was going to write reviews about it. He didn't like and said that was threating him and for me to leave the store. I was shocked! To write a review is NOT a threat! I ripted two cards in front of him and said that will NEVER come to that store again. NEVER! Bad customer Services and very expensive, too. Ridiculous the way they treated me. After 6 years?! I'll go to another comic book store. They're not the only one. Goodbye read more

My husband and I have gone to Coliseum of Comics since we were in high school and since they were located on Holden Avenue. This is much smaller than the Holden location but it's much cleaner and of course the neighborhood is better. If you come every week for your comic book subscription they will remember your name and get to know you, this is "that type" of comic book store. They may have more than one location but each one is unique and they're super friendly at all of them. They also have an extensive collection of figures and toys, if you're a collector. read more

I would check out this store at least once a month, just because of the amount of good stuff you can find inside. They are comics-focused, with all current titles and many old ones as well. Since I went digital with my comics collection, I can't vouch for their pull list specials or back-issue prices, but the staff always seem to be in good spirits and ready to help you out. They have plenty of statues and busts and other comics accessories, enough to kill many minutes looking at all of them. They also have board games and card games, but they sell those at MSRP, which would be fine in any other city that wouldn't have Cool Stuff a few miles away, which sells mostly every game at 30% off or more. However, they do sell card sleeves and cardboard boxes for a better price, so that's mostly what I bought from them. Anyway, if you are around the Millennia Mall, check them out. They are in the same plaza than Marshall's, next to a Gamestop and a Subway. The adjacent Target plaza connects with the Marshall's plaza, so you can easily drive or walk between the two. It feels very cramped, but they are up to date on all their new issues, and have a large space in the back of the store dedicated to live tabletop gaming. This is a great stop for the comic and pop culture lover. Comics of all genres and years, manga, collectors guides, and magazines in addition to shirts, collector glasses, figures, posters, toys, blind boxes, and my personal favorite, Funko Pop vinyls. They are also a great place to pick up board games like D&D and Munchkin and they have game nights as well. Went to their Fashion Square Mall location last week. Very large store and a large selection of merchandise for all customers. Really nice set up of new issues; although, I'd wish they would have kept the most recent back issues with the newest releases so that digging wouldn't be necessary. On that note, the back issues bins were great. Very organized and a wide selection. Decent gaming area and plenty of statue/vinyls for those that collect them. My only other minor complaint would be the lack of trade paper backs. Nearly everything I wanted wasn't there or they didn't have complete sets of volumes. We came across this comic shop during a random car adventure and decided to stop in. It was remarkably well-maintained and the staff was very friendly and helpful. We stayed to browse for quite a while and the staff told us about a holiday (Halloween) event that they were having.
