If I ever owned a collectibles store, I would want it to look exactly like Gods & Monsters. This place is impressively clean, fun, and thoughtfully laid out. Everything is where it should be--grouped by theme or franchise--so browsing feels more like exploring a curated pop culture museum than digging through clutter at some grungy and junky comic shop. The selection is fantastic: from comics and statues to posters, small plush, otaku, Pops, action figures, high-end collectibles, and more! Whether you're a gamer, a movie buff, sci-fi fan, or just love cool merch, you'll find something to geek out over for sure. The staff? Genuinely great. Friendly, welcoming, and super knowledgeable without being pushy. You can tell they love what they do, and it will make your experience that much better. You can actually have a real conversation with these guys! I am so tired of visiting stores that hire snotty, vacant, or indifferent employees. You DO NOT have to worry about that here. Oh, and they've got a geek bar inside the back of the store. Seriously. It was a bit too early in the day for me to grab a drink but it looked awesome the way it was decorated, so I'm definitely coming back with my wife some evening (and hopefully soon!). Plus, they're open late--huge win. Also, the location is perfect... right off International Drive and not far from Universal Studios. We needed a costume for Megacon and ended up at Gods and Monsters, what a fun little spot! Parking was easy and plentiful, and the store is tucked inside a cute covered plaza. The staff was very friendly and helpful, which made the visit even better. While we wish they sold more masks and costume accessories, we were pleasantly surprised by how many cool items they did have. The store is very clean and well-organized. Highlights included the giant Gremlins and Pokémon vending machine, though sadly it was out of order, it was still fun to see! We also noticed a neat speakeasy out back that we definitely want to check out next time. Overall, this is a great spot for any nerd, collector, or cosplayer. Stopped in while we were in town visiting the parks. Nice shop and Great customer service. While I mainly look for vintage figures the shop seemed to have a nice mix of modern and vintage depending on what you're looking for. They also had a nice selection of comics. My main collecting focus right now is old Mattel Secret Wars figures, while I didn't see any of those the Horror Figure section caught my eye. We ended up leaving with a set of Halloween 3 Toony Terrors and 2 of the 2012 Figures Toy Company reproduction Mego Mad Monster figures. All in all a solid shop we'll stop at whenever we're in town. read more

This was a fun anime and comic book store in Orlando! It's in a small strip mall and there was plenty of parking. I had a lot of fun browsing the books, figures, and trinkets here. I was looking for Scott Pilgrim books and I think they had the full color edition set here. I saw a lot of anime blind boxes here as well. The problem with blind boxes is you have to be happy to get any one of the available choices, otherwise you're probably going to be disappointed haha. I would come back next time! read more

Guns and monsters is a comic book shop that is a little tough to find because it is tucked away but once you know of this gem, you will want to come back time and time again. Even if you don't read Comics they have a huge variety of merchandise from horror icons such as Chucky and Michael Myers to card games such as the new Disney trading card game that everyone is going crazy for. I love how friendly the staff are here and they are super knowledgeable. Even if they don't know what I'm talking about, the next time that I have gotten in there they have made it a point to talk to me more about what I was looking for last time which really makes me feel like they care. They have a huge variety of novelty items as well such as figures from Dungeons & Dragons to a ton of anime items as well such as body pillows and some really awesome stickers and keychains. Prices are pretty reasonable here and they always have a ton of variety in terms of comic book covers and the variance of each comic book. They also don't charge an arm and leg extra for the more limited pressings of comic books which is amazing! One of the coolest things about this place is the bar that is tucked away in the back called Vault 5427 with amazingly themed cocktails from movies, video games and card games. Amazing and knowledgeable staff as well as amazing prices will make this my go-to comic book shop when I am up in Orlando visiting family, without a doubt! This place is awesome! I have been going to them ever since they opened way back when they were at Festival Bay/Artigon when those were a thing. This is my go to comic and collectables store with great prices and a friendly atmosphere. They also have a great range of product for every fandom and the staff is always helpful when you come in. Then at 5pm you can check out The Vault in the back for an adult beverage. Can't recommend this place enough! read more

This was a fun experience visiting here. The design and thought they put into this were truly well planned. The staff was super friendly, dressed to the theme of the bar, and very friendly. She recommended offering drinks, and we all ordered what we thought sounded good. My drink was on the sweet side, but even with the sweetness, you could taste the alcohol. I got the pink nightmare which was a tequila based drink with peppermint syrup and milk mix. It truly was a great seasonal drink with a nice punch to it! The price of the drink was roughly $9 dollars and for that price honestly it was worth it! They also have beer and mixed shots which are reasonably priced as well. I love how the entire bar has a spooky vibe to it and the copious amounts of stuff on the walls made me look around the entire time so I wasn't bored while sitting and sipping my drink. read more

Having come to Gods and Monsters for a few years now, I can confidently say I'm at a bit of a crossroads with it. As such, I'll just lay out the good and the issues I have with this place. The Good: The vibe of this place is phenomenal. When you walk in, it's quite the spectacle of pop culture and media. It makes you wanna spend much more time browsing through their selection of goodies than you realistically probably should. The bar in the back is quite the spectacle. I'm a big fan of the cocktails and mocktails. Once again, the post-apocalyptic, fallout influenced vibe isn't something often seen, and it's pretty cool when it's open. They have a sizable collection of comics and various memorabilia of said comics. I can honestly find myself browsing THAT for hours. It's quite the collection of Marvel, DC, Image, and other publishers. On the note of comics, to a smaller degree they have a solid collection of manga. While much less intricate and diverse than the comics, you'll find some goodies while browsing. The Bad: The pricing on items here can be absolutely abysmal at times. Especially for anime figure lines. During one of my visits to this place, they had a nendoroid figure for sale that was roughly two times its MSRP. If it was an out of print figure, I'd completely understand. Fortunately however, it wasn't, so I ended up buying it for a standard price from eBay. I understand that your merchandise NEEDS to be marked up. It's just how a business survives. But if you're pricing it nearly double the value it realistically should be, then expect it to gather dust. I'd love to rate this place higher, but I fear I'd be upcharged heavily for it. The whatever... figured I'd mention it: The service was okay. Very hit or miss. I've walked in on days where the staff answered my questions as I had them. I've had days where I had 0 human interaction. I've had days where they watched me like a hawk for no discernible reason. Guess it just depends on who might be there that day. Maybe this one's just my personal taste talking, but I feel like the anime merch is a little lacking. A whole wall dedicated to just My Hero and Demon Slayer is kinda just... meh. The rest of the section is decent, but lacking variety pretty hard. The "video game related" display has it even worse. The lack of variety... and actual stuff inside it genuinely kinda shocks me, especially when other shelves seem jam packed. Overall: 3/5 read more

This is such a cool spot in Orlando I learned about on YouTube and had to check out with my Husband. It is located INSIDE an interior mall in a strip mall. Once you enter, the shop is on the left and you'll be greeted by a giant Hulk. They have a TON to look at including a number of gacha machines, cases upon cases of collectibles and toys, books, DND models and paints.. basically something for everyone. We were there too early to enjoy a drink which was a shame, because in the back of the store there is the coolest bar I've seen. I had to immediately snap pics to send to my friends. I can't wait to come back some day and have a drink. read more

4.5 stars! I'm not a comics, video game, &/or anime person, but my husband enjoys it so I brought him over here... I'm pleasantly surprised to say that I also very much enjoyed myself! Not only bc watching him explore all the products made me happy lol, but the store is jam packed with so much cool stuff to look at! I really liked the way it has that "cluttered organized" look lol. Gives it that retro vibe in my opinion. I do wish the store was bigger though bc it got really crowded and hard to move around-- that's why I didn't rate 5 stars. Checked out this toy store for the first time before heading back to Miami. Staff is pretty great. They were knowledgeable, answered all our questions, and introduced us to their rewards program. They have a bar in the back of the store, just walked in to check it out real quick, and didn't have anything to drink. I think they have a little bit of a lot of different things, fair verity. Wonderfully put-together comic shop. Gods & Monsters is a dream. They cater to all sorts of genres-- video games, board games, manga, and more. Great variety all in once place. Speakeasy in the back is a cool touch! No COVID safety protocols in place, as far as I could tell. Located in Orlando Crossings Plaza, in an inner strip mall area. Fairly hidden, and unobtrusive from the outside. You would never know that the bar was there at all. Staff are pretty friendly and knowledgeable. We rolled in around 10pm on a Saturday for a drink and ended up perusing their inventory for most of it. Drinks are fine, pretty standard for a dive bar. The main attraction is the decor, with pop culture references abound. As for the store itself, you could probably find any type of gift or collectible for every fandom out there. They're organized carefully, easy to find whatever you're looking for. Would love to come back to grab some figurines and prints for my new apartment! read more

The drink menu was incredibly expansive but I'd happily have 50% less drink options in exchange for ice cream sandwiches, gluten free baked goods, pickles, cheese sticks, hummus & veggies, bougie trail mix mix, microwave ramen, etc. My friend in NYC heard I was going to Orlando and saw this place on tiktok. I can't believe I've lived in the Orlando area for three years and I never knew this place existed until now. It's in a little strip off of I drive, there's also a pizza place and a liquor store nearby. If you were into collectibles, dungeons and dragons, marvel, Disney, anything under the sun like that the stores definitely for you. This is by far one of my favorite comic book stores I've been to. They also have a hidden speakeasy in the back open from 5 PM to 12 AM. Definitely bringing the partner here to come check it out I did grab some thing for his Harley Quinn collection which I hope he adores! Each collectible behind the glass also has a little price tag on it that let you know how much it is going to be. Not many comic book stores do that and I think that's a great idea!!! read more

This place is great! Truly one of the better-organized small-ish comic shops I've been to. Very thoughtfully organized sections based on category and IP. Almost like shrines, with toys, collectibles, comics, and more... just for that one thing. Very cool. Very good balance of comics and graphic novels from the top publishers AND the Indy publishers. I went in with my 10 year old son, so I couldn't check out the bar area. But you bet I'm coming back here for that bar experience with a friend or two. read more

A geek's dream store! It's probably the 2nd biggest place in the area behind Acme. They have all your bases covered. Comics. Tons of graphic novels. Role playing. Board games. Manga. One zillion collectibles. And a bar! You could easily spend hours here (especially when the bar is open). I try to go a few times a year (I'm not close enough for it to be my local comic spot) and check out what's new. I almost always walk away with something. read more

Was looking for something to do that wasn't a theme park and stumbled across this shop. The good: Tons of selections. If you like comics, and just nerd culture really, you're going to love it here. Great selection of comics, they offer subscriptions, and they have stickers, collections, and even video games. The bad: It's a little disorganized The ugly: We had to wait in line for about 8 minutes while the guy chatted with a regular. The service is good and selection is good for board games and tcg's such as Pokemon. The value is ok and they have an rpg game night with a bar in the back. They used to have OP events but from what I understand is that is no longer the case as they dont have much room in the store to setup tournaments. read more

When you have a couple hours to kill before a flight out this is an awesome place to go. Nicest guys (and a gal who runs the bar+) run the place. The bar was not "open" when we took a Lyft there after days of Disney. But they let us go in the bar, with our rolling cases, and play any game we wanted from three over flowing shelves. In a display fridge they stock a nice Orange Cream Soda. Ray bought me one of those, something for himself and then we tried out a couple games. I purposely shopped the store to find games they had in stock, to play, in case we liked the game after learning it and could purchase it as well. We did. Also went across the courtyard to Pepe's Cantina. Good food. Frozen margaritas or Sangrias have to be consumed at the restaurant, of course. Next trip to Orlando we will plan to be here for the bar times (see photo) and play games again. read more

Visited March 2020. Awesome little shop full of goodies and merchandise you don't see everywhere. Loads of stuff and a huge variety of stuff. Neatly categorized that you will slow walk to the store to absorb all that's here. There is also a cool hidden bar all the way in the back that is so cool. No one was back there as we came a bit early in the day and with my mini in tow. Cool retro arcade tables and pin ball machines. There is a LOT of stuff here. The staff was also friendly and offered assistance immediately upon entering. Oh, and the mega Video Game/ Retro TV soundtrack that plays is fun. To be honest, we didn't settle on anything to purchase as my son was a bit overwhelmed but we certainly will come back. I mean, where do you even start? They have a plethora of stuff! read more

Stopped here over the weekend and stayed for a good two hours just checking out every detail of this place and being in pure amazement. We have been to two other comic book stores in Florida and none of them compare to this place. They have a great collection of comic books for one, they also have an amazing collection of collectible items and other miscellaneous figures, etc. this was also amazing, super polite, friendly and interactive with their customers which made the experience much more unique. At the end of the store there's a secret door to a speakeasy which opens up at night, during the day the door is open so you can actually go inside to check out the decor but the party doesn't start till eight!!! The speakeasy is small but they have a cool little VIP section in one corner, a small bar towards the end and then some old-school retro games scattered around for entertainment. If you are in the Orlando area definitely take the time to stop by, I know we will be stopping by again and checking out the speakeasy too!! read more

Very cool board games' supply and comic book store, tucked away in the corner of a strip shopping plaza. They have a lot more merchandise than you would expect, and it's a very clean store, super well organized. The people at the front were very helpful, and responded quickly to questions and requests for assistance.
