They switched management in the middle of my lease in like December 2022 and they are quite threatening in their emails and online interactions with residents. They assumed we had a dog that wasn't registered (we do not) and emailed all of us accusing each of us having one with us and threatened fees. They never reached out and asked politely or had a conversation with any of us. They assumed and are aggressive with their communication. The new management is trying to fix more things and get everything under raps, but they make my roommates and I feel very unsecure at the property. I am not reviewing this June.

HOWEVER, Saga and the staff have been very responsive to maintenance requests, questions about payments, etc. The apartment was in very good condition at the beginning, we did have some maintenance requests, but they were fixed within the first day. Nice and central to campus, lots of amenities nearby (CVS/Target/bus stops/food), easy to get to North Campus.

They don't refund you your deposit upon end if lease and arbitrarily charge you for "damage & repairs" but will not show or prove there were any. Rent is way overpriced for what you get.

Instead, I was told by emergency maintenance to just "leave for the day" and it would be taken care of--only to come home to a leaking ceiling, soaked carpet, and no real progress. Maintenance didn't arrive until the next day, and all they did was remove the light and smoke alarm--leaving me without a fire alarm in my room for days. As of writing this, water damage in the walls hasn't been addressed, my carpet still reeks of mildew, and the lack of urgency is unacceptable. Mold grows fast, and I'm still living in unsafe conditions. Even after explaining all of this to management, they offered no rent discount, no apology beyond empty words, and essentially told me they were "acting within the lease agreement." If black mold grows in the walls, I guess that's just the lease at work. The Union has long had issues--stained hallways, slow responses, roaches, fleas--and this was just the final straw. For the price I pay, the living conditions and service are absolutely not worth it. Avoid this place if you want your home to be safe, clean, and treated with urgency when problems arise

We have used the buildings services to fix our lights and it was a bit slow, furthermore the garbage truck comes at 5:15am on Monday mornings (plus a few other days) and wakes the whole building up-- which I'm not sure how it manages to wake me up every single time. Lastly, there is a lack of parking & the best option is to either park for free on the street or find a wayne state parking garage within close proximity. I learned about ECIR from a friend and I instantly fell in love with the place. It not only checked these parameters but was super convenient in terms of location (important criteria during brutal Michigan winters). It is walking distance from the business school, the school of education and the school of public policy. Further, it is barely couple of blocks away from the frat house, pubs/ bars and restaurants where most parties happen (yet not at all noisy!) I live in a 2 bedroom apartment which is clean, spacious and well-furnished with latest equipments in the kitchen, bedroom, bathroom and living room. Besides, there is always Stoney (the go to guy) to help you with anything you may need. In terms of the community, ECIR is awesome! I have made some great life long friends (outside my business school) from around the world over numerous meals, activities and games like Mafia. People here are non fussy, down to earth and very friendly. Festivals such as Chinese New Year, Graduation Prom, International Fair and Diwali are celebrated here. Also, I love the community meals that happen every week where you get to taste amazing international cuisines made by fellow residents (Yes, free food!). Jessica & team do a wonderful job of taking care of not only your daily needs but also organizing various fun events. (We are all Jessie Lovers here!). Finally, this year Munger was clearly the hype but I decided to not follow the blind trend as ECIR is way more than just a community living. I truly wish I would have actually considered living at Munger. Lobby level offers various room for studying and entertainment such as karaoke, watching movies, foosball, ping pong, etc. The floors in between that and the rooftop are the units. The only downside is that you have, like, seven roommates? But each has their own room, a desk, shelving, a closet that's tiny for my clothes but decent for anyone else's wardrobe, a queen-sized bed (!!), and private bathroom. All units come with a washer and dryer, two stoves, two TVs, all utilities included, and I'm sure I'm missing other in-unit amenities, too. My favorite part is the rooftop. There is a convenience store. More study rooms but with a gorgeous view of the whole campus and Ann Arbor. A small gym. But most importantly, a rooftop track! Imagine running there overlooking the gorgeous view, which I did immediately after I visited my classmate. There is even seating outside for those that want to lounge and get a tan while you see the runners jog around the track. This is hands down my favorite place to run now and although I'm not a resident, it's very easy to get to the rooftop without needing proper Mcard access before late evening hours. I live outside of campus and despite how impressed I am with Munger, I do see some cons. Despite having your own rooms, I'd still feel weird living with seven other people. There is no close parking lot so if you have a car, you would still need to buy a parking pass. Again, I can't speak to how it's like living here. But after visiting my classmate, I'm regretting not signing up.
