I requested a relatively straight forward job to install a new rail, and stain/finish to my existing deck at the beginning of May...it was FINALLY completed last week. While there were challenges with weather and I can totally understand that's out of our control, the workers would either show up late or not show up at all which is within their control. I also wasn't provided any of those updates unless I asked what was going on, and would be promised make-up dates that would then be pushed out. Again, I can understand delays due to weather that pushes jobs out but it would be great to have given better notice and more realistic times to make up. As for the actual job, they power washed the chipping paint really well, per my request, and mentioned they'd come back to sand down the rest, but that wasn't done--you can see they just painted over the old finish. The new railing has split stakes throughout, and it only appears that one coat was put on, instead of 2-3 which I was told was going to happen. Lastly, when installing the rail they only installed a post on the upper-half of the deck, which remained uncomfortably wobbling and unsafe for anyone to lean on. I was then told it wasn't needed despite it being so wobbly. It wasn't until I stated that it needed to be cemented into the ground someone came back--even when they first came back, they bolted two halves of a post together instead of installing a whole new one, and it was standing on shims...not cemented down. Anthony came back and put the posts into a cement bucket, and as I presumed it now feels secure. Anthony was professional each time we spoke. I just wish that the rest of the workers were too and would reflect through their work. My experience with other contractors in past left me with a feeling that they went "above and beyond", while Colletta was sub-par from inconsistent communication to the completion of work. read more

Let's start from the day he came to give us a quote. I specifically requested for railings on our front porch, with solar lights, replace wood and repaint house trim, install an elbow piece on a vent, create and build a awning over the back door (image was provided) , and install 4 window box planters and 4 sets of shutters. I also asked for a quote on a fence and a window replacement. He came back with a price that we felt was fair. We SPECIFICALLY ASKED to only start the project when he had time because we were not in a rush and we would rather him start when he could finish the job in a timely manor. . He replied and said he could start the following week and that the project would last 3 to 5 days! He must of meant 3 to 5 ACTUAL WORKING DAYS over the course of 7 weeks!!!!! He never wrote any of our requests down, no punch list or work scope was provided, in fact there wasn't even a contract! With that said , I REPEATEDLY had to ask for updates on when the workers would be coming, when the project would be finished. Anthony was completely unengaged in the project. He would tell it would done the following day, but we knew that was a JOKE!!! The worker assigned to our job, was BEYOND SLOW, seemed uninformed about the windows or wood trim work, sloppy (left nails in driveway which gave our NEW TAHOE a flat tire) .... I literally had to tell him to caulk over the nails and paint over the pencil marks . After the nail in tire and 6weeks of waiting for this to be done, I started to question Anthony on when the window supplies would be installed and he was CLUELESS to what I wanted!!! Perhaps if you wrote things down , that wouldn't of been an issue. He actually ended up telling us , mid job, for us to find someone else to do the windows boxes and shutters and that he would just finish what he started!!! REAL PROFESSIONAL!!!!!! So we said fine, just finish what you started. Week went by, ZERO CONTACT, once we again. I REACHED OUT TO HIM AGAIN, asking when they would be coming to finish, and he had the nerve to say "I thought the job was done" No ANTHONY, job is NOT DONE! EVEN the supplies were still at my house. Are you that clueless about what is happening with your projects??? Anyway, the awning was completed, the wood trim was completed, the railing on porch was installed with no lights! He again played dumb and claimed he didn't know (AGAIN WRITE SHIT DOWN) !!! 3 to 5 day project was 7weeks long project. Windows never done, quote for fence never done, no lights on railing, half ass work had to be addressed and fixed PER MY OBSERVATION! Just completely unprofessional!! BEST PART OF THIS is Anthony was someone I worked with and knows me and my brother on a personal level. I came to find out they actually did work for my brother too! Anthony never mentioned that, but I'm sure it's because he did a terrible job at my brothers house and shared an exchange of not so nice words! Anthony, hopefully in the future you depend more on contracts, itineraries, and learn how to give ACCURATE time lines. Oh and you may want to consider hiring people that work at a normal speed, unlike your guy who we had. Nice guy but WOW !!!! read more

Paid him 50% down and an extra $1,000 and received less than half of the work complete (plenty of which needs to be repaired as the quality was extremely poor) Less-than-half of the work was "completed" in 2.5 weeks when "3 to 4 days of work" was what we were initially told Many promised work days that resulted in "no-shows" with no explanation given Damage done at site Discord amongst employees and "he said/she said" back channel communication Bad communication including: raising voice to customer, not answering calls or texts, not reaching out when absent from scheduled work day, full voicemail box) Ignored addressed inconsistencies/concerns with the work-to-date I wouldn't recommend this "company" to anyone and would, in fact, highly advise anyone looking for work done to NOT go with them. read more

We had a minor project of some board replacements and staining our entire aging deck and some cedar planters and outdoor kitchen. COVID made this project drag a bit longer than normal plus we had a lot of ill-times rain that delayed the staining. Our fenced collapsed during November due to a wind storm. We called many contractors to request a quote for a new installation during the winter months. Colletta was one of the few who responded back without having an issue to work in the winter installing a new fence, along with able to work within the means of my budget. Other contractors pushed to spring, and would not come close to my budget I have laid out. Anthony was quick to respond and got the ball rolling as soon as an agreement was made. Do NOT use this guy to do deck. I hired him 2 years ago, he took my money, didn't finish the job, and what he did do was HORRIBLE!! Currently looking for someone to repair the unsafe mess he made. The stairs he did are already broken and he didn't attach the banisters to the house so they are loose, if you lean on it, it moves several inches as if you'll fall right off the deck. I've had Anthony over a few times and each time we've been very happy. First, we had some cosmetic work done to the outside front porch. Our house is a near-gut rehab but the old indoor porch became an outside porch but the original house contractors left drop ceiling outside. I was desperate to get it fixed and I came upon Colletta Construction who was quick to come out, give me a quote and start on the work. Anthony installed beautiful wood to the outside ceiling, installed can lighting and now the entire front of our house looks so much better and so different. We then had him come out again to do some indoor back porch stairs and turn an old closet into a family room library where he installed bookshelves. Finally, last year, he installed an 8X8 wood deck in our side lot and we loved it so much we had him come out again this year to extend the deck by another 8X8. Overall, he's great to work with. His gave us a more than fair price, his communication was excellent, he showed up on time and when he could not finish the job in one day as originally planned (hey, stuff happens), he showed up bright and early the following morning to complete the work. Yes, he's a little disorganized, but he's young and just getting started so we could easily overlook that. He was polite and honest and did not over promise. He is not a painter by trade, so he brought Robert with him to do the painting and sealing. Robert did an excellent job. Had Colletta Construction come in and add onto an existing fence that I had in my yard. We wanted to close both ends to completely enclose the yard. Anthony was very helpful and transparent in the process and even suggested a few of his ideas that I didn't think of. He'll work with your budget and see where costs can be cut down as well. The work was done on time and in good order. I will be reaching out to him again to see if he can do other home improvement work around my house (trims, doors, etc.).
