Had a scheduled telehealth call. Logged in 15 minute prior, as directed. MA (Amelia) came on after an hour to ask for CPAP information. I remained on the call for THREE AND A HALF HOURS and Dr. Wojcik never joined the call. I sent two messages to Amelia on the app and received instant replies that I would be contacted within 24 hours. I called the office and was transferred to her voicemail. I left a message (again, 24 hours for return call) and it was been a week since the messages were left with no contact from the office. Today I received a notification that a claim was submitted with my insurance carrier. Really? You're billing over $300 and I'm the one that was on hold that whole time? Unacceptable business practice. read more

Wow!! I've always heard good things about Dr. Wojcik. I'm so happy to confirm this and have him as my pulmonologist now. He's extremely thorough. Explained things in a way I could easily understand. I've had asthma since childhood and have seen a few different pulmonologists (insurance changes) and none have been this attentive and all around great. It doesn't matter what time your appointment is, he consistantly runs 2 hours, or more, late. According to the administrative staff, he doesn't show up at any specified time, he just comes in to the office at random times. The doctor regularly recommends sleep tests but I understand that his practice has a financial interest in the sleep test facility. read more

This guy, and appointment, was the most ridiculous medical appointment I've ever had. After waiting an hour in the office past my appointment time, I was told by the staff that it was common for this doctor to keep his patients waiting 1 to 3 hours to be seen. They seemed very embarrassed about telling me this, and told me they get a lot of complaints about the way he runs his appointments. I mean how brilliant can this guy be to not be able to run an on-time efficient operation. To expect your patients will routinely wait 1 to 3 hours past your appointment time is both disrespectful and offensive.. And, don't expect to complain to anybody, because they don't really care, they are aware of the problem and don't find it necessary to do anything about it. Hard pass on this moron! read more

Waited over two hours for each of my two appointments. Initially he comes across as knowledgeable, expanded in great detail about my diagnosis, and prescribed a treatment regime for my persistent cough. When my condition did not improve he accused me of not following through with his recommendations, blamed my oncologist of 15 years for interfering with treatment he prescribed, and said they were the reason I had not improved. When he is challenged, he became indignant, and I realized that all his elaborate explanations and compassion were really insincere. read more

I waited 2 & 1/2 for Dr Wojcik to finally get to me. My scan said I had a partially collapsed lung. He finally appeared to tell me I am fine. When I queried about the collapsed lung, he said everyone had one. Fine, I said? I can't breathe. His answer allergies. I told him I had been tested for allergies and I had none. He then proceeded to tell me to take a multivitamin which I already do. I have never been more dismissed by a doctor and to have to wait that long for that result. I am definitely going for a second opinion and will never go back to him. If you want to waste your time sitting in an examining room all by yourself for hours on end, then go to him. read more

He was referred to me by my primary Doctor. After reading reviews about the long wait time left me questioning if I wanted to go to this Doctor. After my first visit to see him, and the long wait...I am no longer wondering. He is GREAT!!!! He takes the time to explain things that he feel are going on with you, in ways that is easy to understand. You do not feel rushed. This is probably why the wait time is so long. He gives the same time and care to everyone. So, take your patience with you. Because of the great care from him and my primary Doctor, the problem was found and I am on my path to a full recovery. Dr. John Wojcik is a pompous, insensitive ass with the bedside manner of a rabid racoon! Let me explain: My 91-year-old father was a patient at Mountain View Hospital, suffering with pneumonia and COPD. Everybody we encountered at the hospital was a caring and concerned professional... with the unfortunate exception of Dr. Wojcik. After several days on a ventilator, it was decided that my father would be declared "Code 3," which means he would be taken off the ventilator and nature would take its course. Certainly, a difficult time for any family. While waiting for the morphine drip that would allow the ventilator to be removed and ease my father towards death, Dr. Wojcik stepped into the room, announcing himself as an associate of Dr. Tu, who had previously examined my dad. Neither I nor my stepmother had ever laid eyes on Dr. Wojcik, who immediately determined that my father needed to have his oxygen increased. When I asked why, my question was dismissed. Dr. Wojcik then quickly examined my unconscious dad and questioned his wife about the patient's recent lifestyle activities. All I could do at that point is wonder, why is he asking these questions? The man is terminal. When my stepmother informed Dr. Wojcik that, prior to his pneumonia, her husband had not been on 24-hour oxygen (which was never prescribed), using it only when he needed it, the good doctor bluntly informed her that patients don't make those decisions, doctors do! He then, unbelievably, accused my father of "committing suicide!" At that point, I told this medical moron he was being completely inappropriate! I explained the current situation to him, that my father was about to be allowed to die, He mumbled some half-hearted condolence before slinking out of the room. The next day, following my father's passing, a phone call to Dr. Wojcik's office to complain about this incident got me the voice mail of Elaine, the office manager. I explained the encounter and said I felt an apology was in order. Of course, neither I nor my stepmother have had any response. read more

I echo what other reviewers here have said: If you are elderly or you have an elderly relative, take care to avoid Dr. Wojcik's ICU. Facts and options should be provided, but no one should ever be pressured by medical staff into making the decision to end life support for a patient with brain activity -- it is a huge and tremendously personal (and irreversible) decision for each family that can only be made in accordance with the patient's wishes and each family's unique ethos. Dr. Wojcik repeatedly tried to shame and guilt family members into ending my 83 year old father's life and taking him off life support. My dad ended up going peacefully on his own. I don't know if my father would have survived someone else's ICU -- but I do know that the pressure from the doctors here around this decision was extremely unethical and extremely subjective, and went far beyond medical advisement. It made a very sad situation even more stressful and challenging. No doctor ever has the right to push a decision like this down the throats of a patient and a family. Keep your elderly loved ones as far away from Dr. Wojcik as you can. read more

Wow!!!!! I'm shocked that dr Wojick has all bad reviews. I saw him in the hospital and I liked him. He was straightforward with me and gave me all the meds I needed. I have pneumonia and bronchitis and yes I'm a smoker!!!! The only thing I was offended by was that he blamed the cigarettes. I've only smoked 3 years and thought wow I know smokers who've smoked for over 20yrs and never been sick. I then asked about mold because my apt always had mold in it no matter how many times we cleaned it. Than they said yes it could've been the mold. So I'm just like hmmmmmm. Anyway, I need to do all these tests because I need back surgery and I need to be cleared. please comments good or bad read more

Dr. Wojcik is an outstanding Doctor/Pulmonologist. Unknown I was walking around with COPD.,and major sleep Apnea. He has corrected those issues as well as restored my health and life to better than it was. Not only is he a awesome Dr., his staff and and Lorraine APRN., is awesome as well. Make sure you read all the way down at all the reviews and you'll see up until nine months ago the reviews were very negative!!!!!! I went to see doctor Wojcik last year about a sleeping problem. His Personality is cold and indifferent. My appointment was for 9 a.m. I finally was taken back in the office at 10:30 a.m. . Even though there was nobody in the waiting room. He told me he was going to send me for a sleep study which I did. The staff at the sleep study we're inattentive and sarcastic. After the sleep study I went back to see him but made an 8:30am appointment believing that way I wouldn't have to wait. Again when I entered the waiting room there was nobody there. At 10 a.m. I was taken back to a waiting room. At 10:10 a.m. the doctor put his head in the door and said I'll be right with you. At 10:30 a.m. he finally came into the room and didn't seem to really care to explain anything about the sleep study. He told me he was going to get me set up with a CPAP machine. As I was leaving I asked the front desk why is it there are no patients in the waiting room I was here at 8:30 am and I never saw the doctor until 10:30 a.m. I asked the front desk what time does the doctor get here she said whenever he arrives. I got the CPAP machine went to The Sleep Clinic and again couldn't get any kind of correct information. After three months of trying to get accustomed to the sleep apnea machine I finally handed it back in. I was out about $400. I then found out that the doctor that owns the office that John J Wojcik works at also owns Desert Sleep Center. I feel that is a conflict of interest they want you to have sleep apnea that way they can earn more money by supplying you with a CPAP machine. If you want to get scammed just go see this doctor. read more

In Oct 2014 my husband was extremely ill with empyema and a strep infection in his lungs. After a family friend spoke to Dr. Hsu he immediately said my husband needed to be at the ER, should of been there 2 weeks ago but his PCP and pulmonologist at the time missed every sign of the nature of my husbands illness. Dr. Hsu met us at the ER, admitted my husband to the ICU, and had a surgeon there the next day to remove a 15cmX16cm pus filled mass from my husbands lungs. He was in the ICU for 10 days and followed closely by Dr. Hsu and Dr. Wojcik. We have nothing but the utmost respect for both of these FANTASTIC and LIFE SAVING doctors!!! If Dr. Hsu had not explained everything the way he did to my bull headed husband to get him to the ER, my husband would be dead right now. THANK YOU TO THESE TWO GREAT MEN!!! read more

Dr. Wojcik is a truly excellent pulmonologist. I have been to see him several times and he is knowledgeable, articulate, and professional. I highly recommend him! The office is a little difficult to find, as it is located in a hospital, but you can check their directory for information and directions. I wish he had his own office, as he shares with other doctors, but he is great! read more

I have to say this is one of the best doctors in Las Vegas. That is certainly saying something about the quality of care. There are not a lot of good doctors in Las Vegas unfortunately. You might have to wait a little bit of time if you don't get the first appointment of the day or the first appointment after lunch. Obviously there's a reason for that. Because he takes his time with his patients. He really treats the whole patient he listens and he cares.He literally saved my life. And that is not even being dramatic. I can't say enough of the quality of care I received from this doctor. I value my life again. I highly recommend him to anyone in my family. So if anyone needs a doctor I would say go see him immediately. And if you have to wait, be grateful you got an appointment! He is worth waiting for! I don't even want to tell anybody about him because I don't wanna have to wait myself but I don't want to be selfish because it's really hard to find this kind of quality in a doctor - especially here in Las Vegas. And not have to travel to UCLA or USC. He is the best at what he does!! read more

I suffer from a severe neurologic disorder. So it goes to say I see a lot of doctors. I have seen the valley's best and the valley's worst. Amongst all of the specialists I have seen, not a single one truly listens to what I have to say like Dr. Wojcik. So many doctors only care about what they have to say. Although the Dr. is professional and obviously knows what he is doing, his office staff, namely the scheduler /manager is horrible. Not only is she rude, but she is completely uncaring and even when presented a special or specific problem in need of attention, she is even more indignant and less helpful than normal. I have severe sleep apnea as well as severe heart failure. If you have sleep apnea then you also know the effect it has on your heart. So when my mask broke I tried to make an appointment to refill my prescription, I was told it was nearly a 3 month wait. I explained that I would come in 3 months but i needed a new mask. I was told "NO". When I explained my medical necessity for my CPap supplies she told me exactly "thats too bad, you will have to wait". I explained that I cant go 3 months without my mask and she told me "well you will have to find another doctor". The following day I explained it to my Cardiologist who in turn told me that the would call and arrange it the next. The next day a nurse from that office called and informed me that she was given the same rude treatment. She stated she was shocked that she was treated that way and that they were denied in the same fashion I was. Keep in mind people that this isnt a new prescription or some drug or narcotic, its C-Pap Supplies, nothing more. My Cardiologist who initially recommended this doctor told me to find another doctor that would treat their patients properly. The stress that sleep apnea has on the heart is so extreme and having a very weak heart is almost like a death sentence without my C-Pap. DO NOT USE THIS OFFICE. My only hope is that the doctor doesnt know they treat their patients this way and maybe he can make a change. Either way it isnt worth a chance. Even if the doctor cares, his front line workers dont. read more

I agree with Amy, and I am sorry she had this experience with Dr. Wojcik. You would think the board of examiners would reprimand these doctors enough to make them a little more cautious about the way they treat patients and their families. I had a bad experience that was similar to Amy's. Dr. Wojcik and Dr. Westbrook Kaplan were the worst doctors I have come across in my life. When my 88 year old Grandmother was being treated for pneumonia both doctors were nasty and felt we should just give up on her because of her age. They told me I was trying to pull up the Titanic and I spent enough time with her so let her go and give her adivan. Or just any antianxiety drug to let her drown in her own fluids. I reported these doctors to the board I would advise others who have bad experiences with people who are so suppose to help save lives to report their behavior, and possibly offer them a career change. read more
