I had an amazing experience purchasing my first new car at the age of 31. As a female I was dreading buying a new car, as I'm sure many of you women out there do, I brought along my male partner to be my body guard against bullies. I could have left him at home ;). Everyone at Colonial Subaru was wonderful, they all addressed me directly, they didn't try to talk to my male partner instead, they did not pressure me, answered all of my questions, and if they didn't know the answer they found out. I walked into Colonial on a busy Saturday, everyone was helping another customer so the owner Eric grabbed a fresh first day employee Juan Ramirez to assist him and me with test drives and sales. Juan rose to the occasion beautifully!!! I'm sure we can all remember what its like to have a first day at a new job. I watched Eric treat his brand new salesman with respect and kindness, showing such patience on a busy day, teaching him the ropes. It is the mark of a great team when the leader teaches and treats his employees with kindness and respect. Juan did a wonderful job answering my questions, joking with us, and overall making me feel very comfortable. When he didn't know the answer to a question he found out. He even recruited their tech specialist Michael Britland to answer my silly detailed questions. Michael is a wealth of knowledge! I loved his excitement about Subaru's and their features. He truly loves his job and is excited to teach and help customers understand the intricacies of new car technology. After a couple days of contemplation I was ready to buy my first car! Juan was wonderful, and showed up bright eyed and excited to sell his first car!! I think he was as excited as I was!! His coworkers helped him through the whole process in such a kind way and he seemed very well supported through his experience. As if the process couldn't get any smoother Erica Kopp was a rockstar and helped ease all of my financial anxieties. She explained every form I signed in detail, showed me all the numbers for different year loans, how everything would add up depending on which features I went with, explained all the add-ons, didn't try to push anything at all. She gave me and my partner all the time we needed to talk out each option and decide what was right for us. When I was still nervous about the price she found some extra coupons online to get me to a less stressful final number. Through all of my hyperventilating and freak outs she kept a smile on her face and a laugh in her voice. She was such a joy to work with!!! As a final cherry on top of a wonderful day Juan's coworkers gathered around and cheered for him while I helped honor the tradition of cutting his tie for his first car sales. I couldn't have asked for a better salesman to work with and I was honored to be is first sale! I purchased a hitch for my new Subaru Crosstrek smurfmobile, and they said the car would need to come back in when they got the part. I was dreading bringing the car back in and waiting in the office after working all night at the hospital, I had nothing to dread. Juan came to my house after I got home from work, dropped off a loaner car for me to use and took my car to the shop for the installation!! He brought my new baby back to me the next day with absolutely no hassle to me! I obviously can't rave enough about everyone I interacted with at Colonial! Colonial does the best job of utilizing their Internet personnel in the car purchasing process. I spoke with Ginny over several weeks while checking out all the details for buying a Forrester. She showed proprietorship toward her work. She was professional and personable in her manner of speaking to me. Ginny is the reason that I made the decision to go into the showroom. Colonial has the most well trained, upfront, Internet representatives. On the floor I worked with Mike B. and he listened to my needs and gave me good suggestions but permitted me to make my own decision. His business style is personable, knowledgeable, and consumer oriented. Joe, the business manager, was just as personable and professional as Ginny and Mike. He went over every paper I needed to sign and all the options afforded me as a Colonial customer I would not have searched as long as I did had I known how positive the Colonial Subaru people would be in making my car deal happen at a fair price with all the generous amenities they offer all of their customers. I would tell anyone to save their time, shoe leather, and fuel when buying a car. Call Subaru, talk about the car you want to buy and if you are satisfied at that point (can't imagine why you would not be other than the car is not on the lot), put on your shoes. Your showroom visit will be the most pleasant you ever had. Over a 40 year period of buying cars, this is the first showroom that did not have sales people wandering around aimlessly, clustered together talking, or giving you the old"used car salesman" handshake. As a single woman, who has experienced some chauvanism in the past when buying a car, such as not having the mats thrown in on a deal and then I would take a gentleman back with me and when he said, "Throw in the mats". without hesitation, in more than one dealership, the salesmen would agree to the man's request. I was treated as a person who was interested in buying a car and all questions asked were answered. Oh, they threw in the mats and I was there alone. Colonial has my repeat business. My wife and I were looking to purchase a certified pre-owned VW EOS. After searching the online inventory of all VW dealerships in a 100 mile radius, we found a 2010 VW EOS at Colonial VW with a very attractive sales price. After reading about the incentives and perks offered by Colonial we were determined to purchase our vehicle from their dealership. I called the dealership to inquire if the car was for sale and spoke with Rick Trier. He was very professional and friendly and answered all the questions I had regarding this vehicle. We were able to negotiate a price over the phone and I gave him a small deposit to hold the vehicle for two days until my wife and I could travel the 2 hours to see the car in person. Prior to arriving at the dealership, Rick called and said he would have the vehicle fully detailed and waiting for our inspection. We arrived at the dealership around 6:15pm on a Friday evening. Our VW EOS was sitting outside looking better than brand new. Rick came out and met us and asked if we were ready to test drive the car. He escorted us inside to retrieve the keys and also offered us a drink. Rick then afforded us the opportunity to take two test drives due to us having our two sons with us. Due to the quality of the pictures and description of the vehicle on Colonial's website, we were not disappointed at all once we saw the vehicle in person. After test driving the vehicle, Rick introduced us to Joe Inglima, Colonial's Business Manager. Joe thoroughly explained all the necessary paperwork that needed to be completed to finalize the sale. He explained the extended warranties that were available but at no time pressured us into purchasing them. The paperwork was competed in a very efficient and expeditious manner. After all paperwork was complete, we met with Rick again who showed us all the options the VW EOS had and how everything worked. Rick also paired our cell phones to the vehicles Bluetooth system and assisted us in establishing our satellite radio account. By 8:30pm we were leaving the dealership with our VW EOS. Rick was great throughout the entire sales process. He called the next day to see how our ride home was and to ensure we were satisfied with our purchase. I drove a little further than I normally would to go look at a car at Colonial VW. They do not negotiate at all. The prices on their website are misleading. They automatically add a $500 "prep fee" on the top of every listed price. The sales man and manager we worked with seemed to talk down to us. Would never recommend buying from there. Got a better car for a cheaper price elsewhere. read more

The Worst dealership ever. Over priced won`t really try and make a deal with you. They start out making you think they are going to make a deal with you, Then they send in a numbers guy to piss you off and I was out of there. Stick your numbers where the sun don't shine. Absolutely HORRIBLE!!! I am too angry to even think about it right now, but do yourself a favor and do not EVER deal with this company for ANY reason. The other Yelper's have already addressed the sales issues here, but their service department is even worse. AVOID! AVOID! AVOID! They had my car for 8 days for routine service, because they were waiting for a part to come in which ended up costing me over $300.00 in rental car fees. When I was finally able to pick up my car, I asked to speak with the manager to see why there had been such a hold up and if there was something he could do to help defray my expenses due to their incredibly slow service. The first thing he told me was that I could have come back the very next day to pick up my car and come back at a later date for the part they were waiting for. That would have cost me nothing, so why didn't someone call me and tell me that??? They sat on my car for 8 days and cost me over $300.00 because no one could bother to pick up a phone!!! Then he had the nerve to say that he would have preferred I bring my car in on a Monday. What??? Then why didn't someone say something when I scheduled my appointment toward the end of the week? It was honestly one of the most bizarre, unprofessional experiences I have ever had in my entire life. His bottom line was that it was my fault it cost me that much money for the rental car because I opted for the insurance to go along with it. It would have cost me NOTHING for a rental if anyone there had done their job!!! In the end he offered me nothing, did not take accountability for anything and blamed the situation on me! Ok, so I had the best buying experience ever at Colonial VW in Feasterville. Like a lot of people, my credit is far from decent. But I had another VW Jetta that I was financing with a company that specialized with people for bad credit and I made sure to pay my car payments each month on time to help my credit. So I went in and spoke with DJ (Dave) in sales. I kid you not when I say he did NOT PUSH me once! He was very understanding and seemed to really care and want to help me out. He found a brand new 2014 Jetta S that he said they might be able to get me into. I took a drive in it and I did like the car very much. It was only a 4cyl. compared to my 07 Jetta which was a 5cyl. but still the car was beautiful. Not only were they able to get me into the car without a down payment but also for only a little bit more each month then what I was paying on my 07 Dub. The lady in the finance department, I forget her name, tall women with short blonde hair was equally as caring and nice. They both made me feel like they were excited for me which just made me even more excited!!! I highly recommend this dealership but especially DJ. He was great!!! read more

If I could give them a negative score, I would. This dealership is so bad I hardly know where to begin. During the time I was shopping for my car I stopped into Colonial a couple of times only because it was close. One of the first times I stopped in it went relatively well. I went on a test drive with a nice enough salesman and that was that. When I was leaving I saw a member of the service department literally beating the crap out of a customers car. I knew it was a customers car as it had a numbered piece of paper attached to the rear view mirror that corresponds to the service order number. This was the first strike. The second time I went in, again because it was convenient and close to my house. I made it a bit further in the process talking to a sales person regarding pricing. In short he told me the price was the price and there was nothing he could do. The manager then came in and took rude to an entirely new level. Not only did he tell me that the price was the price, he went on to explain that he had three million dollars worth of cars on his lot and that we are in the business of selling cars. I'm in my mid twenties, he was in his mid fifties and as condescending and rude as they come. They lost my business right there, they had already lost the opportunity to do any service on my car when I saw that moronic service tech beating on a car that wasn't even his, without the customers consent I'm sure. Wow I was shocked to see only 2 stars next to this dealership. I had a most pleasant experience buying a car. Usually buying a car is a real pain. This place made it enjoyable. The actual owner came over to me and I am a complete stranger and thanked me for the business. This was not the man in charge saying he was the owner but the owner himself. Didn't have to do it. I bought the car already and had a fantastic experience doing it but he felt some way and he came over to shake my hand and thank me. There are people there who went way out of their way to make this a great sale. Angel(she does all the paper work) went out of her way to make sure I was well taken care of. Over and over she just did her job expertly and made sure all the things I was supposed to get, I got. She actually sealed the deal for me. I want to thank everyone who works there. Great Job.
