Color Me Mine is a fantastic place to bring our family. Our grandkids love it and have won ribbons at the fair with their art. My husband and I made flower pots from clay and painted them with glaze. The kids have made holiday and character art. They went to the kids summer art camp and had a ball. The staff there is the best! They have taught us so much! It's a relaxing and fun-filled hobby that has become one of our favorite activities. read more

Took my daughter to color me mine this afternoon. Never been there before. They were very friendly and helpful. They had a good selection of items for sale to purchase and paint, although the prices were a bit expensive for me. Yes, I am going back to finish the project we started. A 5 year old doesn't have that much patience to finish at one sitting. There is also a studio fee, which surprised me and if you don't finish the project when you started as it is for us, we are going to have to pay an additional studio fee at half price I was informed. read more

Such a fun and peaceful activity to do with kids or other adults or even by yourself. I took my 2 year old nephew and my 8 year old daughter and it was a blast! Was my nephew a natural? No it was definitely some work to get him to understand but we still truly enjoyed it. Heads up though it is on the pricier side I did not see anything less than 20 the cheapest I saw was a mug for 23 all together with fees they charge I paid 140 for three products. Pretty pricey but good for a special occasion! The ladies helping us were on top of it they were refilling everyone's paints and were very patient. They cleaned our brushes and replaced our filthy water with clean water. I wish it was more affordable because I would come back over and over. read more

We stopped by here when we're driving from Las Vegas Central California. It gave my kids something to do after being in the car for so many hours. But I won't lie that I was really shocked by the prices of the pieces! I remember doing this when I was younger and there were $10 pieces available for people who are really just there for the experience and wanted something small to paint. But the cheapest item I found at this location was $23! My kids ended up both picking up piggy bank that was about $29 each and we had to pay $10 for each child as a studio fee to actually paint. My kids are three years old and six years old so after they walked in and we told them already, it was hard to explain that we might not be able to paint because it was going to be so expensive! So my husband, I just decided to let them paint and think of it as something that is a reward for them sitting in the car for so long. But it ended up costing us over $80 for about an hour worth of painting!!! Pretty expensive. That is my main issue with it and the reason why we probably wouldn't go back. I wouldn't have minded letting them paint a $10 pencil holder or something to have to pay over $30 for each kid to paint and take a piece home with a little expensive. But the service was really good and the studio was clean. I kids needed a refill on the paints a lot, and they were always there to help. We also needed our order to be rushed because we were going to be coming back through Bakersfield earlier than seven days. They were able to finish it in time and fired up so we could take it home and not have to worry about coming back to hometown and finding color mine and paying three dollars to get it fired at our location. That was a definite plus, and we were very happy with that service. So if you're in the area, it is a fun activity, and the pieces are nice, but just be ready to spend some money! You also have to tip the people in the studio so that is also wide ended up being almost $100 for us to get to piggy bank for my kids!! read more

This place is awesome! You can pick any of the pottery on the shelf and the price will be on the bottom. Each piece ranges from $30-$40 roughly some or less in the $20s. Once you choose your pottery piece and pay you are seated at a table and it's like having a waitress wait on you with pink colors and brushes. I recommend calling first to reserve a table bc sometimes the tables are filled. A workaround as the tables are all filled as you can get it to go and I'll give you all your paint colors and brushes, and you can sit out outside at one of the tables. They don't tell you this trick. When you paint the pottery, it may look dull, but once it's fired, it's amazing with bright vivid colors! You can pick up your pottery piece in seven days. read more

They offer different activities and classes for the kids and adults. Our favorite offering is once a month in Fridays they do a kids night out (aka date night for mom & dad) they get pizza delivered, provide an art project and a movie. All while supervising and assisting the kids. 2 hours of education & entertainment for around $30. read more

I brought my five year old daughter to Color Me Mine in Bakersfield for the first time as a walk in. Front desk was very friendly and welcoming. She explained in details the painting process and made my daughter feel comfortable. my daughter chose a cat to paint and the lady helping assisted my daughter with her multiple needs. My daughter asked for different materials such as: stencils, different writing pens and brushes. Customer service was excellent as she asked if we needed anything or help. Buyer beware! Should be zero stars. Be careful with this Color Me Mine. I spent over $150 on items for my kids to paint. They said they were busy and pickup was three weeks out. When I went to pick my items up they had thrown them out. They claimed they tried to call to remind me, but had no record of it. They said there was nothing they would do to fix their actions. Too expensive for the experience provided. I was visiting Bakersfield for family so I took a party of 5 including two kids. I knew the prices were going to be high but was excited because the studio looked gorgeous and so did the pieces. However when we entered with a reservation, there was only one person at the front who look overwhelmed. Our party was instructed to the front to look at pieces so we patiently did so while waiting. The person then came up to us and starting explaining that another party went over there time and she is trying to have them leave. She kept repeating that they are over their time and she is trying to kick them out which as a customer is weird to hear. We were understanding about this and kept looking for a pieces we wanted to paint. Then the person sat us at a smaller round table and told us we can start here and then they will clean the bigger table and move us there. The person then told us to look for our colors. She started cashing people out while doing this. We then waited while she checked out multiple groups which was very frustrating as we were not instructed if we can get the paint or anything really and it was now 30+ min after the start of our reservation! Then another worker from the back finally came to help us but it was very off putting. It felt as if we were bothering her and she was very short with her remarks even in response to the kids. We were not given paint brushes or clean water, we had to get up and get dirty brushes from the table we were originally suppose to be sat in which had now left. After the person at the cashier was done checking people out, I heard both of the workers whispering about moving us to the bigger table and the one with the off putting attitude shrugged her shoulders. I could tell from this that they were not going to move us or clean the table which is what happened. After this the front cashier worker was more attentive but at this point I was over the experience especially since we were paying so much. I gave three stars because the pieces are beautiful. However, I would recommend other studios with better customer service. read more

Whoever decided to put a Color Me Mine in at this location was a very smart business person. It's right next to Cold Stone, Johnny Rocket, and Edwards, making it an excellent decision for a kid's birthday party, date night, or Sunday Funday. I've had a great experience every time I've been here. The employees are not only knowledgable, helpful, prompt, and cheery, but they seem to genuinely enjoy what they are doing. Plus if you need them to finish up a piece for you, they do so excellently at no additional charge. The first time I came in here was with my friend and her two young children to make a "King of the BBQ" platter for her husband for Father's Day. Not only did the help with choosing colors, but they helped with putting the paint on her children's hands/feet & placing them on the platter in the right places. They were very patient with all the crying & struggling (who knew 16 month olds didn't like paint on their feet?). In jest, I said that I should bring my dogs in to do a "I'm hooked on daddy" BBQ platter for my husband, to which the employee replied, "do it! People bring their dogs in all the time!" A few days later I was back again with my three huskies! After painting the background & the rim, I brought them in one by one (I had a few people wait outside with two while I took the third one in). The employees put the platter on the floor for accessibility, put paint on their paws, and pressed their paws firmly to the platter. I will have to say it was quite difficult because these dogs are STRONG so I had to bring a friend in to help. After all the paw prints were on the platter, the employee helped "clean it up" with a Q-tip, and let me finish painting the underside of the platter. I asked them to finish it off with painting on the seaweed and writing on it. They said to give it a week, but it was done in 4 days. I picked up both mine & my friend's platters. Both looked awesome! The whole process is a little pricey, but honestly it was worth it. Our husbands LOVED their platters. I was so glad we did this. read more

Mommy and me Mondays are such a great deal! They don't care how much time you spend painting, and everyone is always very friendly. The process is pretty self explanatory, but if you need help there are signs and directions on the wall. The employees are willing to come give you a hand. The music is bad 80's top 40, which is the best kind of music as far as I'm concerned. And all the paint washes off, so you can be as messy as you want to. The selection of pottery could stand to be a little bigger/more practical but it's a place aimed more at kids than adults. Who needs a jewelry box when you can have a garden gnome or a koi fish?
