Huge and expensive pig. Still no choice.

Went there at least 7 times and had a good experience. This time was very frustrating. The shelves were empty. I brought 2 friends w/ kids with me to enjoy a moment together. Most of us haven't find what we were looking for. We took 3 mugs for the kid's so they can at least do something. They charged us $10 fee for being here + the products. When I asked for a discount because everyone was disappointed because there were no choice they refused. Even to charge $7 for the fee which is a promotion they often do. Finally a woman offer to the kids a little figurine to add on their mugs. And finally I was charged for that too. Even if it's $1 it is just more frustrating. I just feel that they took advantage of us. Very dissatisfied and unhappy. I don't want to go there anymore.

Make a reservation! It can't hurt, and it would have helped me on my Saturday date with my mentoree lil sis. We had to wait 40 min for a table to open up. It was pricey but she (12yr) loved it. Staff is friendly, helpful, and great with kids. While there are lots of kids/parents there, there are also plenty of couples, groups of friends having girltime, and a couple solo adult painters. For kids under 10yrs studio fee is $6. Older than 10yr is the adult fee of $10. Firing fee is $1/piece. For the 2 of us to each do a piece cost a total of $73.03 : Studio fee (x2): $20 Piece A: $20 Piece B: $25 Firing fee (x2): $2 Tax: $6.03 There is a parking garage across the street that is free for the first 2hrs. Also lots of meters on the street -but it's packed on a weekend.

I went here this past weekend with my sister and my cousin. I didn't really want to go but I had to take one for the team. I'm glad I went, since it was pretty fun. There were a lot of bisques to choose from, but I didn't really know what to get. Some of the things they had, I felt would just be junk. They had a few useful things, like plates, bowls, single serving tea or coffee sets, pen holders, jewelry boxes, dog treat holders, dog dishes, piggy banks, and cups. I ended up choosing a cup ($14.00). Not sure how it came out yet. We went on Saturday, and were told we could pick it up on Tuesday. Tuesday comes along, and only two of the three items were ready for pick-up. I'm thinking in my head, "Wow, what a waste of time. I have to come back here to pick up the last piece? Couldn't they have called us to let us know that our items wouldn't be ready at the stated time?" 3 stars for lack of thinking. Anyway, parking was kind of hard. There's metered parking all along the street, but you have to kind of drive around. Also, there is a 2 hour max on the meters.

Love the experience! I came here on a date with my girlfriend and it was super fun! We were able to talk and paint. It was pretty empty when we went so I felt safe. You have to wear masks the entire time. I love the ambience. You get your own workspace and unlimited supplies for your creation. There are also lots of pieces to choose from! We took about 4 hours making our pieces so if you plan to make something extravagant plan accordingly! The staff was extremely knowledgeable and super helpful and open to answering my many questions (as we were both beginners). I'm so excited to see how my piece comes out in a few days.

I had a great experience here. I called prior to arriving to work on a plate for my mom for her Mother's Day gift. The staff were very helpful and friendly. I must have spent 2 hours in there, although judging from how my plate turned out you would think I made it in 15 minutes. I was told that the earliest I can pick it up was Thursday night. I went in on a Monday. I was very impressed to learn that my item was ready for pick up by noon on Wednesday. This worked out perfectly because I was planning on leaving to see my family the next day. My plate looked a bit plain so I decided to put a bee on there. I was running out of time before I had to put more money into the parking meter. The employee offered to help me paint the lines on my bee. She's the best! It looks wonderful too. Parking is $1.00/per hour. It's not bad at all for being located right in front of the business. It's a very high traffic area so if you're in a rush, you should definitely arrive early. Great place. Great service. I'll be back for future purchase.

After painting, you'll come back in a week to pick up the piece after they glaze it. A group of five of us came for a fun girls' day and spent about two-ish hours painting and gabbing. The staff were so nice in giving us a mini-orientation and even helping us out when we made the dreaded paint mistake! It's a great spot for friends, kids, a date, or a solo outing if you want to be creative. They have a complimentary parking lot, otherwise, there's metered parking and free street parking in the neighborhoods across Wilshire. Tips: - You can see their current inventory online and they can order you a specific piece if you give them a month's heads up. - For words or numbers, bring your own stickers. Otherwise, you can purchase theirs and they have lace for sale too. - Check out their Instagram for inspiration! - For the non-artistic types, I highly recommend printing out a design you want in advance. You can trace it directly on a plate or the like and then just paint it with colors (or pick something easy like an animal to paint). Have fun!

ARTime BARRO is part pottery studio, part community space, and is a relaxing, chill place where you can unleash the creativity you thought was dead, where your artistic spirit gets to come out to play, if only for just a little bit of time in this crazy world. On a recent weekend, I had the opportunity to take the One-Time Class, which is a one-hour course designed for complete beginners. You get to make two pieces, one by hand at the table and one on the pottery wheel. The class size was small (just 5 people) and we got great 1:1 instruction and guidance from our knowledgeable instructor Max. I've always wanted to try the wheel and was surprised how hard it was to use it but it was such a great experience that I think everyone should try at least once. After you sculpt your pieces, you are invited to come back to hand paint (glaze) your work at no additional cost. You can also have them do a one-color glaze for you, but after I saw all the multi-colored pieces of other folks previous to me, it was no contest to decide that I wanted to color my pieces myself. You have up to 3 months to come back to glaze so it's very doable in anyone's busy LA (corporate) lifestyle. Pricing was very reasonable for such a cool bespoke experience. There are a lot of pottery painting studios (e.g. Color Me Mine) but this is awesome bc you get to make the pottery AND color it later! I've already recommended this place to countless people!

You grab your aprons, your wheel, your slab of clay and watch her demo. You go step by step because some steps will cause you to "lose it all" lol. She explained that their typical classes would allow you to see your clay through from a blob all the way to the firing process which takes several sessions of classes (gotta wait for things to dry etc). There is also a little board with all the firing colors and oxidization/reduction differences which is cool to see it nearly organized. Our bowls will likely be finished in a month after they dip them and fire them up for us. Would totally come back for more classes if they weren't so far... I chose this one over the one we usually go to (west la) because my mom was getting a procedure done at cedars and I needed to be close when she was ready to go home. When I walked in at around 2:30 and the staff was nice. Checked in and dropped my bag in the cubby. My daughter who is obsessed with balls wanted to go in the ball pit first. So we did that. She was playing with the balls for quite some time when I noticed that a couple of the balls she was playing with had black dirt on them. I took her out immediately and headed somewhere else to have her play. Mind you, this place has nowhere for infants/new walkers to play safely away from bigger kids. There was a baby sitting in the middle of the floor, couldn't be more than 8-9 months, playing with a walker toy while kids ran around her. Fast forward Wednesday 7/8 comes and she has a full on rash on both her arms, legs and her butt. I took her to her pediatrician because it wouldn't go away and they said it was a viral infection. I saw that the owner had said they clean all day every day but at least while I was there the only "cleaning" I saw done was picking up the ball pit balls and putting them back. No sweeping, no mopping, no wiping down anything. Just sitting at the desk. If I was you I'd opt for the west LA / Brentwood location. They not only have a crawler/new walker area, but their parking is free and they were clean!
