I went on Tuesday with my mother-in-law and my husband. While the whole experience was nice, I wish she had explained and told me they had an outliner and thinner tip for it. It would have saved me so much more time and stress. We did one mug cup and two medium sized place was it was about $130. Seems a little pricy but not bad considering all the paint you can use and fun activity. read more

It was our first time at this location and we had a fantastic time! The two ladies working were so helpful and nice! My 4 year old had a blast and the painting was so easy! They give you two hours to paint which is plenty of time. My husband painted a bowl while I helped our four year old. The process is easy and I made a reservation online. It's $10/pp to paint and then you pay for the item you want to paint. You get to pick 5 colors but can request more. Such a great date night! We celebrated Valentines here and we had the best time! We painted succulents for our staircase. Staff is super cool and kind. It was like $110 for thee succulents and the $10 painters fee. Def pricey but worth it for an occasional date night! We hit sugarfish across the street after for dinner. So fun. interesting experience to say the least. when we came the girl acted like we were bothering her by being there. she didn't explain anything to us and when we were finished she told us that they don't let u know when it's ready and to just come and check in a week (not sure what the point of getting our info was). I decided to call after a week because i live far away and cannot make the drive for no reason. i called multiple times throughout the day until someone picked up. the girl on the phone was very rude and when i asked if there was any way for her to make sure our pottery was ready she made a loud sigh and said i would have to wait until she finished what she was doing. i gave her my name and my friends name. she told me that mine was ready but that my friend had already picked hers up, which was not the case. she clearly was just too lazy to actually check. it should not have been this hard to figure out and i felt like i was having to beg the employee just to look. once we went the employee with pink hair was on her phone while we stood there for 4 minutes even though there was only one other table in there. she acted extremely rude in person as well. for something that is pretty expensive and something that is supposed to be fun i would expect at least bare minimum service. shocking to have this many rude employees at one location. read more

I did a walk in on a Saturday by myself and the two girls working there were so sweet and accommodated me! They were very attentive to me and everyone else painting in the store. They were so kind and sweet to everyone. I painted a plate for my son's first birthday. The plate itself was $26 and painting fee $10. I did pay a rush $15 fee to have it ready in three days to have it in time for my son's birthday. My husband picked it up when it was ready but when I looked at it at home, there were some rough spots and unevenness in the firing (I think that's what it's called) of it. I did call and they said they will do it again at no charge, I just need to bring the plate back in. A little annoying since I did pay the $15 rush fee to have them do it sooner, but it's fine. Overall a good experience and I would return but I would double check the firing of your items when you pick them up. read more

Negatives: Not great air circulation. Felt hot and uncomfortable while painting. Workers cannot adjust air conditioner in July summer heat. Owner states that if you take your piece and bring it back he will not glaze for you without receipt. They often close early so make sure to call before coming. If you attempt to help your child fix their project, you will be charged a painting fee for a single stoke. Positives: very friendly and attentive staff. Great selection of pieces. Thank you so much!!! Chelsea was FANTASTIC!!! So helpful and patient with us. My 88 yo Mom felt so comfortable and really relaxed. She opened up her mind and got into seeing herself creating these gifts for her daughters... A Passover Seder plate for each of her 3 daughters. So for years to come after she has left her body, her spirit will always be with us at our Seder tables. It was wonderful to see her feel she could accomplish this! She feels so limited & handicapped now in her elder years that to see a new spark in her was heartwarming. And, this experience gave her a reason to want to get out of bed. Now, she has a project to enliven her every day with a vision to create a little bit. Coming to the store and having Chelsea show her examples and explain things to her made her feel inspired. A true Passover story of liberation and freedom -- leaving Egypt (place of confinement and limitation) and entering the land of Israel (place of expansion, creation & enlightenment)! The other girl in the store (I did not get her name) was patient and so helpful with explaining the colors and giving my Mom a larger selection to "play" and create each plate differently. Worst customer service manager. Blames customers for his mistakes. Pricing does not reflect posted markings. I've worked my entire life in customer service industry. I would be ashamed as an owner to have employed such a foolish individual as store manager. Will never go to the Calabasas location again. This is disappointing for me, too. I love coming here. I love how fun it is to paint and create, and it seems like a stellar place for a birthday party. I have wanted to return for months, but I often forget to make the time. I also wish it was more affordable but I imagine the owner has to price higher just to turn a decent profit so I won't complain too much! I love coming with my husband for a relaxing date activity or with my daughter and son for family bonding time. Color me mine is one of my favorite places to go on weekends but this time it was not the best the workers did not really welcome you and they wait till the end to tell you there is a ten dollor fee for each person who paints say should tell you that at the beginning. I could litterly buy a ceramic at a store like micheals and then paint it and bring it in to a store who cooks it So I would reccomend not to go to this place unless you want to pay a lot of money Thank you for reading! read more

visit here with my boyfriend and my mom on separate occasions. Every time the staff is amazing. Helpful at explaining and reassuring the clay wont break in the kiln etc. the product that comes after was a little messier than id like so note to the wise, definitely use thin paint brushes. the thick ones got all over the place. I learned from the experience and tried thinner brushes the second time and had a much better less homemade looking result. will be back! absolutely great time read more

Went in with my daughter on the spur of the moment one weekend. The place was full at the front but not at the long tables at the back. The young gal at the desk didn't welcome us, didn't say anything until we asked how much the studio cost was, etc. She wasn't too helpful. I asked if we could sit at one of the long tables at the back (2 of them) as there was no room at the front and she gave us the OK. We took a look at the ceramic available and weren't that impressed....it is obviously geared towards children not adults. It was also expensive in comparison to every other ceramic painting studio we have visited. When we went back to our seats to start painting a party of women arrived. They were pointed to our table and then the young gal came over and told us we had to move, even though she said it was OK to sit there 5 mins previously and there were no other seats available. We had to leave as there was nowhere for us to sit. Wish they had told us as soon as we walked in instead of wasting our time. Personally I would recommend Firefly in Ventura as the place to go for ceramic painting. They are much cheaper, have a much bigger selection of ceramic for both adults and children, an extensive range of colours to choose from, plus a variety of stamps,brushes,stencils,books, etc to help you create unique finishes on your pieces. read more

You basically search a large selection of unpainted pottery on the shelves which are clearly priced and paint to your heart desire! This is my mommy daughter date spot. We love it. If allows her 4 year old mind to create periods works of art and me some time to unwind from a long day at work. The staff there is great, especially Crystal. She is not only great with Sophia she is also really patient with me. My artistic talent ends at drawing circles and squares but Crystal helps my pieces look like an adult made them not a blind chimp. It will it was my son's first visit to Color Me Mine, I didn't think that you would like it as I happen to think that this place is more for girls than boys but to my surprise he had a great time. He selected an Optimus prime statue. We selected or pain and found somewhere to sit down. about an hour later we have a beautiful Optimus Prime. Unfortunately my son's friends were not done so we selected a small kitten statue to paint for a cat loving friend of mine. overall we had a great time and there was well worth the money spent. read more

I was looking for activities to do at my sister's bridal shower and found out that Color Me Mine comes out to private parties. I've only been to one location and thought it was pretty fun so I thought this would be a fun and unique activity for a bridal shower. I emailed the manager, Greg, and he replied the same day with a quote and info. I emailed various times asking questions and he always responded quickly and was super nice. The day of the shower he and Damaris showed up to set up and then he left. Damaris stayed to instruct us and help us paint the entire time. She was so nice and translated the instructions in Spanish to my mom and took pictures of the entire group when we asked her a few times. She also did all the clean up involved. I found it to be pretty affordable and Greg and Damaris provided excellent customer service. All the attendees of the shower loved it and get to keep their painted ceramics.
