We checked in at the front desk and the girl explained how everything works (it's our first time). So we begin to pick pieces out we wanted to paint and picked colors out. We had about ~1.5 to finish our product which I will admit, I was a little worried we were not going to finish but we did! Prices were a littleeeeee steep considering and to be honest, when we finished our final products there was more things to choose to paint. My friends and I were in dire need of a creative (and fun) experience. We immediately thought of Color Me Mine since one of my good friends lives in Pasadena. We didn't know to make an appointment (as a few of us have been to other Color Me Mine locations before). We walked in on a Saturday afternoon around 10:30 AM and asked for a table. I think the appointment system is new. They seated us immediately at a table outside which was great! We picked out our pottery to paint and got started. At Color Me Mine, they provide you with the brushes, color palette to pick your paint colors, water to clean your brushes, and your very own palette. We stayed past the allocated 2 hour time limit (again, this was new as I've stayed at past Color Me Mine locations for more than 2 hours). We were disappointed we weren't informed of the 2 hour time constraint because if we knew, we would've planned our time accordingly. The team member was nice to tell us we had about 10 minutes left of our time and informed us we can pay and schedule another date to come back to paint (free of charge). The staff are super friendly and helpful, we just wishes one of them informed us about this new time constraint! We were called in at 3:30 pm and I'm not told clearly the end time to be 5 pm. Also there was on painter on this order. I sit next to my daughter doing my work. We got a plate for paint initially. When we were told the session is ending in 30 mins, we asked for another smaller plate which I saw other table also had as their second plate. The last 5 minutes, I need to helpe my daughter to finish the last coloring to try to get it done on time. Not for my own pleasure to paint but just to rush to finish. I ended up was charged for a painter's fee. After my complaint they gave me 50 % discount of the painter's fee, refusing to remove it - for 5 minute of rushing painting to finish the job. This place is pretty expensive but thats not the problem. First timer here and let the worker know that but they arent helpful at all. I would expect the workers to explain the process of everything but i practically had to ask numerous questions that they could have just explained when i arrived and stated its my first time. They also move at snails pace and kick us out after 1 hour even when there arent any other painters. My daughters love their cereal bowls. Spent two hrs painting and they barely finished. They charge a sitting fee of $10 even if you don't paint. My daughters had no issue asking for paint and supplies themselves to get their vision across on these bowls and they came out really cute. They eat more cereal now. thoroughly enjoyed my color me mine visit! hadn't done anything like this before, but had so much fun! would recommend calling ahead to make a reservation - we walked in around 8pm on sunday and every table was full, luckily a party was leaving so we were able to sit inside! studio fee is $10 per person to cover space, firing, and glaze. you then go around and pick the pieces you'd like to paint (prices vary and are on the bottom of the ceramics). from there, they give you a palette where you can write down the numbers of corresponding glazes you're interested in. took us about 2 hours to paint 2 pieces. staff was generally friendly and pretty quick about refilling our glazes when we ran out. decent amount of street parking around! we were able to pick up our pieces in 4 days (3 days ahead of their quoted 7-10 days!) read more

They charge a $10 per person "Studio Fee," and the total cost depends on the item you choose to paint. The smallest items start at around $18, with larger pieces costing more. I would say to expect to pay $30-$60 per person. They provide stencils, tape, pencils, and markers to help you, along with brushes and a choice of about 4 or 5 colors. Horrible company - everything is company policies, no empathy nor flexibility. 1) I bought 3 gift cards total worth $120. Kids lost them. why bother to take down my tel at time of purchase when you don't even record it. Should have reminded us to take down number behind the card in case we lost it. 2) We only found one card - so came with one kid (under 12 yrs old) at 11 am (yep we were late, my bad). Painting Session was 10-12 noon. I asked if we can stay a bit longer as the place is not filled. They said will check, obviously the didn't. 11:45 am came, we have 15 mins. I asked if we can stay longer if next round of customers aren't coming in yet. NO. It's company policy. When we left 12:10 pm only 2 new tables arrived, meanwhile 6 tables were empty. Imagine you go to a restaurant, they tell you of a 90-min dining time and insisted you have to leave when half of the restaurant is empty! No customers are queuing to paint. 3) As the place wasn't busy & I was babysitting friend's minor so I stayed w her. Upon checkout, they charged me US$10 for just sitting there! Furious. I said then why didn't you remind me that you would charging me $10 extra! (I wasn't painting at all, just watching her paint). Yep Company policy again. Really enjoyed the experience, the paints won't stain your clothes and it's really simple to do! They give you instructions and set you up with everything you need and there's stencils, sponges, brushes etc for all your creative ideas! Came here some time ago with my son for a mother-child playdate. I haven't been to a Color Me Mine in ages so it was a new experience for both of us. Let me just tell you the staff was absolutely wonderful. I can tell they deal with a lot of children so they were super patient and understanding. That is such a bonus during these times but just any other time. Kudos to the staff. That alone was five-star worthy! There are a ton of things to choose from to paint and honestly, the hardest part is choose the perfect addition to your home, office, or gift. Some are a bit pricier while others are very reasonable. And trust me when I say, it will take a long time to decide - they have small banks, plates, cups, bowls, knickknacks, Star Wars, Disney...I think I saw some Marvel stuff. You really have a plethora of things to choose from. So, after we decided, we sat down and one of the ladies ask what colors we should have. Now, this is also tricky because there are a ton of colors and honestly, I didn't realize how many shades of purple and green there really were! LOL. After choosing our colors, the lady (and I totally forgot her name but it was two of them and one was Sabrina), instructed us to paint over our item three times so it sticks. And they have reminders of that on the table, near the table, just about everywhere. You can choose to use stencils or sponges to complete your artwork as well. It will take a long time, depending on what you choose and what your inner Basquiat wants to do with it. After you're done, you give them to the ladies or whoever is in charge, and then you go pay. They'll call you up within a week to let you know it's ready for pick up and voila! You have your own artwork to display at home. While this is a child-friendly thing to do, it can and will get pricey depending on what you choose. It is a great date night activity, getting together with girlfriends, or even just a solo project. I do think, however, this would be better as a something for at least two people to do. : ) read more

I have been coming here for the past three years as a way to spend time with my wife for our wedding anniversary. Rather than going to the movies, we rather do something hands on. Color Me Mine is an excellent way to spend quality time with your loved one. We recently came here on a Sunday and we made sure to call in advance to book a spot since they get quite busy on the weekends. Cost: They will charge each person $8 for studio fees to use their space and colors.The expensive part of the activity is the type of ceramic piece you choose which ranges from $10 to $50ish. They gave use 1.5 hours limit but will allow you to come back to finish when there is an opening in their schedule. Experience: As you enter, they show you to your table that is already prepared. All you need to do is choose your piece and have the staff take the barcode off so they can charge you. Thereafter, you will go get your paints and paint brush. Make sure to write the corresponding numbers that is tied to the paint; or else when you go get more paint you will not remeber which color you originally got. The fun part is painting away with no distrsction; just 90s music playing in the background. The atmosphere also allowed me to converse with my wife and at the same time make fun of each other's artistic abilities. Pretty nice place to enjoy yourself and paint away. I only had two complaints, one was the person that helped us didn't give us the requested colors and stated that the color they chose is what we asked for. That was wrong as in the end after it was all done and dried it was a completely differently color, so that wasn't a nice experience. Another complaint was that the point after going through the furnace produced some pain chipping which is not at all what we expected. i've been at multiple pottery places including different color me mine locations, and this time me and a friend had a bit of business in pasadena, and it is far from where we came from, so we figured we'd stop by to paint for about 2 hours as we had some time to kill. the painting process and overall supplies were great however, the service was not very good which made us not enjoy the experience as much. when we walked in, we did wanted to browse the selections before deciding to paint, and after we picked out our pieces, we sat down an empty table and a worker came over. after she got our names down, she asked us if we had a reservation, and if someone talked to us or discussed the directions at the beginning, and we said no. she went quiet and stared at us then walked away without saying anything as well as ignoring us, and we just sat there wondering if she would come back to give us some instructions or so. we were waiting for a while until i had to ask a worker if they could help us with the process. she said we can just write down the number of the colors and walk away which bummed me out a bit since the instructions were vague. a few different pottery places do have different firing techniques as well as glaze and whether we could use a pen or pencil, so i wanted to know what we should do. another worker came over and let us know we only have until 2:30 pm, and the time was around 1:10 when we started painting, which didn't feel like it was enough time and we do not have time to come back again to finish the pieces as we are hours away from here. i then asked her to give us directions and what we should do as we did not receive any word from the other workers, and she did helped explain the process which i did appreciate. since the workers limited accessibility to supplies such as the squeeze bottles and the paint itself, i had to stand at the area and wait for the workers to come by to help me yet they were busy talking with one another. after my friend paid, they did not give us a certain date to have it be picked up and just said next week, but we wanted to know a certain date since we were going to have a friend pick them up for us. overall, the employees could have communicated better and help us out more. i'm not sure if i would come back here when i'm in town. read more

I had an extremely negative experience with the Color Me Mine Staff at the Pasadena location on 1/5/24. The staff were rude, kept telling us different information and then going back on their word, and tried to charge us a $20 fee that we were never informed we were incurring: I called around 4:30 PM asking about their availability for two people, and they put me on the waitlist for the 5:30 time slot. Though we hadn't yet received a call, my friend and I arrived around 6:30 to see if any tables were available and there were only open tables outside (in the dark). We asked if we could start outside and move inside when a seat opened up and the staff said yes. We began painting around 6:45. Once a couple tables opened up inside, I asked if we could move inside and one of the workers (the manager I believe) said they're going to go down the waitlist and call those people first to fill the open tables. I reminded her that I was told that we would be able to move inside once a spot became available and that I was also on the waitlist, and reluctantly she allowed us to move in. Around 7:15 a worker came around and told us that we would have to finish up by 7:30 since we moved inside and joined the 5:30-7:30 painting window. My friend and I were unaware that we would be cut off after 45 minutes, so we asked if we would be allowed to paint our full 2 hours if we moved back outside. The worker left to ask and eventually came back to tell us we were okay to stay (there were plenty of tables open at this point anyway and walk-ins began at 7:30, so I'm not sure why moving inside was even such a big fuss). When I went to pay at 8:30, the worker rang me up and told me they were charging us $20 extra for staying overtime (though we hadn't even been painting a full 2 hours). When I asked why we were being charged for extra time, he told me that since we stayed past 7:30, we were there "overtime". I told him we were never informed that we would be charged for continuing to paint. He went to speak to his manager and came back smirking and asked if he could at least charge me one overtime fee. I told him no again, and that no one ever told us we were considered "overtime" or that we would be charged extra, otherwise we would have left, and he claimed that he was the one who informed me. I reminded him that all he said to us was that we were "good to stay" and keep painting. He went back to his manager again and came back smirking again and eventually agreed not to charge me the overtime fee. I'm extremely unhappy with their staff and their service and will not be returning again. read more

A fun place for a birthday party, no matter what your age! I booked a 30th birthday party here for 18 people and the event went really smooth and everyone had a great time. You book the event from the website and you get a sectioned space for 2.5 hours (necessary for the artistically-challenged folks like us). This covers the studio fees for up to 18 people (if kids, 15 kids + 3 adults), and also features a free commemorative dinner plate for the guest of honor and some other perks. 5+ stars for our dedicated assistant Katie! We could not have asked for a better one! She was very patient and helpful throughout the whole session and gave us ideas and painting tips and methods to try to help steer us in the right direction. She also gave us some great ideas for the dinner plate, and we ended up doing a thumb print for each of our guests where she in turn turned them into corgis! The only negative I would note is that the prices of the individual pieces are pretty expensive, which is a cost on top of the studio fee (paint, etc), but the result is [hopefully] a personalized meaningful product you can keep in the long term! read more

Fun! One thing is that you should make reservations for I found that out the prior week because I tried then but without reservations. You can check out the different items that you can paint if you can't get in. You definitely need to know what kind of design you're going to paint prior for you only have 2 hours upon sitting so you can't think about it. The time goes very fast when you start painting and it is suggested to do 3 coats to get the best color. You go in, select the item that you want to paint (there are cups, plates, coin banks, and display items), then sit down and paint away. After you finish, you pay, they will put in the oven which takes about a week so you will need to go back. read more

Made a reservation over the phone for a Saturday at 3pm with 3 of my friends. There was a line that made us wait a while until I got ahold of a worker who explained to us to pick a pottery piece we wanted to color and the price are listed on the bottom of the piece. My friends took a while to get the piece they wanted to paint, so I was sitting at the table for a while and they didn't tend to us until everyone picked their pieces and explained to us to take off the price tag to stick it on a paper and mark the colors we want on the palette using a marker. They had stencils, sponges, paintbrushes, pencils, papers, water to dip the brush in, and all kinds of things available for us to use. We had 2 hours from our reservation time to color and there was a sink and a bathroom for us to use and wash our hands at. Overall, it was a pretty fun and therapeutic experience for me and my girls. They charge $10 studio fee per person and tax with tips amount being optional. After finishing coloring the pieces, they had us leave it in the table while they cleaned up and had us check out to pay the fee. The receipt mentioned that the pieces should be good to pick up (from being heated and drying to give it that ceramic look) in a week. Looking forward to seeing the result of my work! read more

I am always impressed with the variety of pieces to choose from. I almost never run into a problem with them having the genre of pieces the girls are in the mood to paint, whether it's a certain animal they are into, or a type of plate or dish. Their studio fee is $10 for adults and ceramics range in price from around $8-$40 so it's definitely not cheap! But if you paint each layer 3 times and bake it the product is really pretty. I hate doing arts and crafts (gives me anxiety thinking if I mess up) but this was kind of fun and now I have a bowl I like to use and can show off to my weeb friends. How this works. You go in and pick a piece of pottery (this will ultimately decide your end cost, the more intricate/big the piece the more expensive).
