So we celebrated 5 birthdays, 12 of us came to paint ceramics, we brought snacks, and drinks. If you didn't have any snacks, this place has snacks and candy you can purchase. Since we were a large group we took the upstairs level. Not easy for people with knee problems, but we managed. So we set up our snacks, Italian sodas, and birthday cake, then we went downstairs to choose what we wanted to paint. Items range anywhere from 20.00 and up. One of the birthday girls had to bring her granddaughter and she had a blast. Another young gal took her newborn and carried him in a pouch while she painted. Staff was very helpful. We had a color chart to choose our colors, we told them what we wanted and they brought to us and replenished paint when needed. Each station had water, sponges, brushes, lazy Susan, and a tray for your paint. We held the space for two hours. Perfect timing because they closed at 5pm on Sunday. They will glaze our projects, and next week one of us will pick it up and bring to everyone. Now we want to go back and take a pottery class. Everything is so affordable including the classes. So glad this one exists, because the one we used to go to in Auburn to pain canvas closed down permanently. I posted a photo of the wall of ceramics to choose from. I've been to a few paint your own pottery places and had recently seen this place so decided to…read morestep in a whim with two people. Make sure you wear layers, it was FREEZING inside. I'm used to more of a selection of pottery to paint, but there were still definitely something for everyone, but it might have skewed more to items for kids. Prices were higher than I've seen at other places, but this is more of a mom and pop type shop so I'm glad to pay it. After you pick out your pieces you are given a tiny pallette for your colors and you have to write down your color choices for the worker to dole out your paint to you. I didn't love this. I can see how this is helpful from kids using too much paint or making a mess. but with three adults it was a bit annoying to have to keep asking for more paint refills. We weren't given any direction on what to do. Two of us had done this before but one of us hadn't so we had to be the one to tell him to wipe the dust off your piece, make sure to do three coats, etc. When we got our finished pieces back, I was a little surprised that the entire piece wasn't glazed. I'm used to every side being glazed including the bottom. One of us painted a turtle and he left part of the face blank, and that part didn't get glazed which was pretty weird.

We settled on the bird house which you get to use any supplies they have to decorate (paint, gems, glue, feathers, Pom poms, pipe cleaner, kinetic sand, moss, foam dough.... List can keep going on forever...) Owner was very nice and welcoming. The environment is very calming, organized and clean- very comfortable. You even have the option to LEAVE YOUR KID there for TWO HOURS!! (Kids ages 2 and above) There was just so much supplies and my son had so much fun (so did I). Definitely a fun place to stop by!! We came at 7:50pm (mall closed at 9pm) so my biggest regret was not coming sooner and taking full advantage of the full 2 hours

This one is different: set on a private property in a quiet neighborhood in South Seattle, it feels calm, personal, and connected. For those of us who live just south of the city, it's such a treat to have a space like this nearby. The event space itself is gorgeous, and perfect for groups. The owner took time to walk us through everything and even offered drinks (such a thoughtful touch). What really impressed me was the selection -- not just the usual imported pottery, but also pieces made by local artists. I chose a heart-shaped dish I'd never seen before, and it truly feels like I created something unique. Between the fun variety of pottery, multiple art mediums, easy parking, an on-site bathroom, and pricing that's better than the mall studios, this place is a gem. We decided to go on an adventure and take a painting class together. He, an engineer, didn't think himself a painter or an artist at all. I consider myself more of the artsy-fartsy type and was completely ecstatic about going to this class! I walked into this little hole-in-the-wall in Renton and was greeted very kindly by the owner, Bev, and a guest artist. Some booze and snacks were had and then we entered the art room. Not officially called "the art room," but I thought it was a clever description. The painting process was explained and easy to understand. Every painting seemed very unique and easy enough to learn. Even though my bf wasn't an artist, his painting turned out wonderful! We had a great time. I recommend going after work with the girls or for a birthday party. I brought home a complete work of art and it was a really good time. Some suggestions: eat dinner ahead of time, come early to find parking, and you might not want to be a perfectionist because the two hours we had went by really quick. The kids all had a great time painting portraits of Squishmallows, which they all got to take home with them after the party. The instructor, Noga was helpful and encouraged the kids to express their own creativity while still providing guidance. All of our guests have expressed to me how wonderful the party was! We are looking forward to returning to Sit and Kit to try out more of the many fun projects they have displayed throughout the studio!
