We had company coming into town in May and were on the lookout for breweries, distilleries and wineries. When I saw we had Cider in Colorado and I hadn't known about it yet I was shocked and made this a top stop on my list. While it's a little of the beaten path, they are very close to Wits End Brewery and when you hit one you should hit the other. We got there right at opening (3PM that day) and were greeted by Kathy who explained their cider and started us out with a flight. I must say there really isn't a bad cider in the mix, but my all time fave is the original Glider. The Pom-Mel has great flavor and the Grasshop-ah is out of this world as well. Uvana was a nice addition this summer, and we look forward to what they will bring us this fall. (I'm secretly hoping for the ginger flavor myself!) These guys are very friendly, low key and with great cider, why wouldn't you want to stop in for a drink or two? They also fill growlers! read more

Wow, what a find! I have heard about this company for about a year, have seen the bombers of cider on the shelves at local liquor stores, so when I found myself talking to the owner of Wits End brewing, who told me this place was just around the corner, I had to go. The location is in a row of industrial buildings, towards the back. Plenty of parking, as my visit was on a Saturday and the other businesses were closed. Nondescript front, single sign pointing to the tasting room. Inside, open area with the apple bins and fermentation vessels barely segregated from the small tasting room. Interesting mix of posters on the walls showing events Colorado Cider has participated in contrasted by some paintings that one would find in an estate sale. Music is playing softly in the background, the stools are a bit flimsy, the bar narrow and small. This is not the place for finding nightlife, or hanging out with your Low-High twenty-something friends with Bon Iver jamming in the background. Some may think this is a negative, but when you talk to the owners, a delightful older couple, you see how it all fits. They have such an obvious passion for making cider, and within a few first tastes the love shows. The cider, four varieties, and before you even sit down they have a flight of tasters in front of you, for free. This is much like you find in wineries, and I wish the craft beer joints would take notice. The flagship cider, the Glider, nice sweetness/tart balance, great mouthfeel, beautiful amber color. The dry version if this is less sweet, more champagne-like in carbonation, and reminded me of an Extra Brut, if you are into the bubbly. The other two, well, not much of a fan of cider when I walked in, but these two had me converted. The Grasshop-ah is an amazing combination of lemon grass and hops, and the flavors work their magic as you take the first sip through the final exhale. It is simply amazing, amazingly good. The Ol' Stumpy is a blend of apple varieties aged in Chardonnay wine barrels, the color is rich, the flavors, very complex, ranging from earthy to charred wood to grassy fresh apple. Full pours are $4-$6, and they sell bottles of each so you can take some home. The hours that the tasting room is open are limited, so check the website. If you have never given cider a chance, or if you have and were disappointed in what passes for cider via the mass-marketed brands, swing by Colorado Cider. It is a great sidestep from the craft beer scene, and with the close proximity to Wits End/Strange/Renegade, can make for a four-play of fermented goodness! read more

I love capitalism, especially when it leads to a really, really good beverages like those produced by Colorado Cider! Their creative concoctions range from dry, almost chardonnay like ciders to fragrant, honey and rosemary infused libations that hit the palette as though you were drinking perfume! They are a bit off the beaten path, but nonetheless have a 'tasting bar' that is open (I believe) on Friday and Saturday evenings. Definitely worth checking out, and I recommend the sampler platter. We came here on a Sunday afternoon to enjoy their summer hours. The location is tucked back in an industrial area and so it's a bit tricky to find. Parking is also quite tight and limited and so we were pleased it wasn't super busy. The seating options are unique and our group of four were pleased to be able to snag lawn chairs in the back. Upon approaching the bar, we were told there were three flight options, the top line, bottom line, or all. Would have loooved a bit more customer service as to how the flights broke down, or info about the ciders themselves etc. Instead we got nothing. We all opted for the full flights (~$8 for 8 samples) and our trays were brought out to us. The little mat under the drinks help with tasting points and are spot on. Overall we enjoyed our beverages and each had our favorites (cherry!). Checking in through Yelp gets you $1 off a pint (~$5) and so that was helpful. Overall it was a good visit though I would have loved more customer service to actually learn about what we were consuming. read more

Neat place! It's tucked back really far, so it's a little confusing to find it for the first time. But once you're there, you'll be glad you found it. The ciders are really good! They have lots of choices for everyone's taste, but I prefer the drier ones. Some are like champagne! Probably the most interesting of the ones I've tried is the honey lavender cider. It has a perfect balance of floral, aromatic flavors without adding a lot of sweetness. I'm not a connoisseur of ciders at all, but Colorado Cider makes me want to become one! read more

This place is pretty darn awesome. It's in an industrial area, and the actual space inside is pretty large, but the way they have it set up makes it feel homey. The server was so friendly and explained all of the ciders in the taster. The other server (owner?) tapped a cherry cider just for me which not only tasted awesome, but was awesome that he did that for me. There was someone (who I imagine was a regular) who offered us homemade snacks (I wish I could have had some!) which made it even more fun and comfortable. These guys were awesome. Came here after a big Mtb ride in the front range to rehydrate. Did a couple of flights and enjoyed all of the offerings. The hosts were super gracious and gave us an additional cider - new one they were working on - a Cherry Glider cider and Grasshop-ah mix. Delicious!!! I find the service here to be very lacking. They have several beautiful ciders on tap and god forbid you ask to taste a swig of one or two before making your decision on which one you would like to keep drinking and paying for. The hours that the tap room is open are kind of short and strange, BUT.... The cider is so damn delicious. Crisp, clean, fresh. The Grasshopp-ah and the seasonal pear are my faves. read more

Wow! I would never expect to enjoy hard cider so much. I am an avid beer drinker and tend to shy away from ciders because of the sweetness, but Colorado Cider has certainly changed my tune. I went to a tasting at their tasting room a couple weeks back and was blown away by the taste of the ciders, as well as, the kindness of the owners. I could not have enjoyed this place more. The Glider Cider and the dry version of the glider cider were good, but the star for me was the Grasshop-ah and the Ol' Stumpy these were incredible! The owners talked with us and gave us the low down in the Cider world and I enjoyed every second of it. I would strongly recommend everyone to try this place out. I have been here a handful of times, but never gave a review on Yelp! I came back this past weekend to find a surprise of a new Cider on tap. I took my biking group Pedals and Pints there a few weekends back with some hesitant beer drinkers, to say the least... Getting there the beer crowd was converted over instantly. The friendly staff, the laid back atmosphere, and the amazing Cider makes this hidden gem a must stop at in Denver. Ciders Glider Cider - Classic great smooth Cider and done right. Glider Dry - Champagne Cider that is easy to drink, not my favorite, but still good Pomme MEL - Not your typcial Cider, but in an AMAZING way. Not sure I can praise this enough. From the smells, to the taste, to the ease of drinking, just WOW. Ol' Stumpy - You can taste the aging process on this Cider and it is a great drinking Cider Grasshopp-ah - Sweet, easy to drink, hoppy and amazing. A must try. read more

Once we found the establishment(just keep driving toward the back of the parking lot- and look RIGHT) , parking was no issue on a week-night. Hosting a great Yelp Event, Colorado Cider offered generously served home-made options with interesting flavor combos- I really enjoyed the lavender-rosemary I believe it was, cider. If you are a cider person, this place is worth checking out. The only thing missing was music, but it was a great tasting room. It has concrete floors and the staff is extremely knowledgeable concerning their products. I have a picky friend and she found something she could try, even if she isn't a beer or a cider drinker. Chardonnay is more her taste, but the bartender had great suggestions and it was a comfortable evening of sipping on fizzy seasonal cider. read more

The Colorado Cider Co is Tree-mendous! Get it?! See what I did there? I'm so clever. A hidden gem if there ever was one, I can't recommend this place enough. If you're looking to juice your weekend for a little more fun, definitely glide on over to the Cider Co. Friendly staff, really fun space (games!) and golden & delicious boozy beverages made me fall in love immediately. And keep in mind, this isn't your Granny Smith's cider, it packs a punch. They've got a wonderful Glider Cider, their classic and flagship cider. A dryer version, which wasn't my favorite but their Grasshop-ah was without a doubt the best cider I've ever had. Fermented with lemongrass and hops (tastes like cascade and simcoe) it was one of the most satisfying, crisp summer beverages I've had the pleasure to consume. Really though, just a wonderful wonderful place. Off the beaten path, tucked away -- and perfect. You definitely need to skip over and try the ciders. It'll make you smile! read more

Attended a Yelp event with Zipcar at Colorado Cider Co, and it was just awesome!! Got the flight (6 drinks) for just $5 and were able to try a lot of the ciders. Best by far: Grasshop-ah!! I recently visited this cider company for Yelp's Winter Kickoff event. They're only open on the weekends, though they do special events. Eventually, they'd love to have the staff to be open during the week. That would be exciting. Anyway, they have a nice varied menu. I would like to return for an overall sampling. Tucked away in an industrial area of an "interesting" part of town, Colorado Cider is a cozy little place. It's basically a warehouse with a bar, tap, and some furniture that looks like they assembled from Savers or Arc, much as I did back in the day. On Saturday at about 3:30 things were steady but not at all packed, which is such a relief after going to so many other tasting rooms where you have to jostle for the attention of a bartender and quickly give up all hope of ever finding a seat. We sat down and were brought two tasters ($5 for 6 small pours). There are three straight up apple ciders, a pear cider, a cider with honey and hops, and a cider that Tanya said "smells like bread." There was something for almost everyone (though three apple ciders eventually start tasting similar) and the prices were right, especially after I saw a bottle of Glider at a restaurant for $12 the night before (it's $6.50 here). All of the drinks are good and strong (6.95% being standard). The best, in my opinion, is the Grasshop-ah, the aforementioned hops one, that tastes like alcoholic tea. This would be a great place to spend a couple hours drinking something that goes down easy on a hot summer day. read more

This is a friendly little cider maker. The wife and I stopped by on a Friday evening because I wanted to check it out and it's close to my favorite craft brewery, Wit's End. The location isn't easy to find. It's tucked away in the back of an industrial park. Turn when the GPS tells you to, even if you're not sure it's correct. Inside, it's cozy. There's a bar and a few tables. I started with the sampler which was a good idea because there were a couple that I otherwise wouldn't have tried that I really liked and one that I was sure that I would enjoy which I didn't like at all. The flagship ciders are a tasty change of pace for a fella like me who's used to drinking craft beer all the time. I always enjoy discussing the production process with the folks who work in breweries and wineries. I found a customer who also makes his own cider, and we chatted for a while about the process. I'd love to take a tour of this place, but I wasn't sure if they are offered, and I didn't ask. While it's unlikely that we'll become regulars at Colorado Cider, I found the visit enjoyable, and we'll probably stop by from time to time when we're up for something that sparkles but isn't beer. read more

We have been here once before about 3 years ago when the owners were the ones to take us through a "flight", share stories about the company and talk cider for the better part of a snowy afternoon. Back then there were only 4 ciders to try but they were all solid and we had a great and memorable time. Today we spent a while at the Cider Company, and being celiac it is so nice to be able to order anything off the menu. We did a flight and enjoyed tasting several new menu items. The place was packed and the staff was busy but just a little unattainable. If we wanted information about a cider, we were directed to a plastic covered sheet. The waitresses were sweet but unaware. I am glad we got the opportunity to meet the entrepreneurs associated with this company a few years back. We are loyal patrons and buy Colorado Cider whenever we can at the stores or at restaurants. It's nice to see a company grow but definitely we miss the good old days. read more

Best cider place I have been to in Colorado! I had a flight to taste all of the "fruity" ciders and I loved all of them. It's in a weird area so you may think you're lost. It's in the middle of a bunch of industrial buildings. Someone was having a party there too so it looks like it's a good place for events. Only possible negative is that there isn't any food and I'm not sure if they have food trucks or not. The party brought food in so maybe that's an option. read more

I was a constant patron to this beautiful establishment. As soon as you walk into their tasting room, you immediately feel at home. The atmosphere is cozy, and the staff is incredibly friendly. Most days you enter their tasting room you will be sure to be greeted by Kathe's cheerful smile. She is one of the owners and is always happy to converse with her customers. The cider is fantastic. Their flagship Glider series is terrific. Both the original and dry would be likened to British or European cider. It's dry, and it's delicious. I prefer Old Stumpy, which is their premium brand. It has a similar dryness but is aged in a chardonnay barrel which adds a little oakiness to your pallet. All of their ciders are approximately 7% abu, have a great taste and mean business. On a hot summer's day, I can think of no better place to be than Colorado Cider Company. read more

Yum. That is all you need to know. The grasshop-ah is great- cider made with hops? Quite possibly the best friendship ever. It's nice and well, grassy. And delicious. Glider Cider is always good, and tastes best on a hot day. When it's so hot and I'm not in the mood for a beer (wait, this doesn't happen very often), I crave the ever refreshing Glider Cider... super crisp. I recently had the Mel, which is a honey cider- It also didn't disappoint. Tap room is very cute- and really friendly service. Tasty adult cider. That is not to say it is inappropriately dressed, but unless you want your kids to sleep very well, should be savored by adults. The atmosphere is a bit cramped, but the prices are fare and the product is delicious. They have a very good variety of various fruits with various spice additions, in short, many ways to get a little tipsy. The location is rather out of the way and you would not be able to find the place if you were not looking for it. I don't know if this was intentional or not, but as I had Siri commanding me to go and it took a couple tries to actually find it ... (DAMN YOU SIRI) I would have prefered something like ... a sign with a light on it near the road. Otherwise, a good tasty beverage that was enjoyed with good (taste unknown) friends. read more

Simply put, the best cider in Denver. Its not in the hip part of town that Stem is but if you are looking for great pricing on amazing cider, Colorado Cider Company is a no brainer. They are serving out of their distribution center which give the place a unique feel. All staff are both friendly and knowledgeable about their craft so come with any questions you have! They offer free small tastings if you aren't sure what to order, and offer a flight of their 8 flagship ciders for around $7.00 - a ridiculously good deal if you think about other places charging the same price for four ciders...
