When I was choosing the rail, the consultant spent as much time as I needed to talk out the details of the rail to ensure I'd be getting exactly what I want, and be happy with the result. I just had my custom made security/storm door installed and could not be happier. The door is gorgeous and super solid - a much welcome difference from the big box storm door (junk) that was on my house when I bought it. In my experience storm doors come in three flavors: 1) Super cheap junk 2) Mediocre cooker cutter outsourced items and 3) High end hand made quality items. If you are looking for #3 I highly recommend you talk with CCIW. I also ordered three window grates which are being powder coated and plan to replace all of my stairway balusters in Phase 3.1.2 of my seemingly never-ending house remodeling. I have dealt with four different people at CCIW from the owner to the installer and sales and book-keeping in between and everybody has been great to work with. read more

Awesome company with excellent customer service and superb results. So glad we chose these folks for our new banisters. After getting our hardwood floors and stairs installed the boss/hammer/money spender (a.k.a. my wife) wanted new balusters, newel posts, and railings, and so, enter CCI. Allen, the owner, came out to our house to take measurements and go through our options. Allen was very nice and gave advice when we asked and we were very happy with the interaction. We did shop around and thought that CCI was competitive in pricing, and had good reviews and recommendations, plus Allen was very knowledgeable and nice, and so, we ended up hiring CCI for our work. We were scheduled for the work, about a 6 week wait for the start, and we waited. Kara, from CCI (who is very nice as well), gave us a call about a week out to let us know there were some scheduling concerns and if we could push the date by a week due to an employee's illness. My wife and I had already schedule time off and could not change and Kara understood our concern and had Allen call right back. In the end, Allen made good and we got our work done in an acceptable time frame. Why do I bring this up if I gave them 5 stars already? Because things do happen, which I do understand, and CCI really worked with me and I was extremely satisfied. Now for the work. WOW, is the the first word out of our mouths every time we look at the new newel posts, balusters, and rails. Chris B. was our carpenter/installer and he has an attention to detail bordering on OCD, lol. This guy is an ultimate professional: courteous, knowledgeable, and extremely patient with my questions. We could tell that he didn't just want us to be happy with the work, he wanted us to be ecstatic, and it showed through his work/artistry. Yes, a carpenter is a form of artist in my book; carpenters make a normal piece of wood into something beautiful, which Chris accomplished. Chris worked his tail off and continuously cleaned up after the work, we never had to do any pickup or cleaning once he left for the day. Pride in craftsmanship is what I saw in Chris and when I need more work done I will call CCI and ask that Chris be our carpenter/installer and you should too. I'm crazy about Colorado Custom Iron Works! We recently did a full house remodel and Colorado Custom Ironworks replaced five sets of railings in our house. I showed them a photo from Pinterest and they took it from there. Previously we had inexpensive black railings from Home Depot that we're installed poorly by a local handyman. From the moment Thomas and Dutch walked through the door with the new railings, I truly couldn't get over how beautiful they were or the quality, solid cast iron. Choosing Colorado Custom Ironworks was one of the best decisions we made. They were great from beginning to end and their prices are more than reasonable for the quality. I spent a fortune on railings and bannisters with them. They nearly destroyed the baseboard on one section and when they tried to rectify it, see the photos of how the screws were reinstalled (by the owner nonetheless!). They didn't have the touch up paint with them at install, and when they came back out, applied the wrong sheen. After numerous contact attempts , they agreed to come out and retouch. But again, with the wrong sheen. Again, numerous attempts, they agreed to recoat them. They showed up with the newly coated railings and bannisters but told me they were terrible and were being sent back yet again for recoating. Finally, they deliver only to find that the recoating never including any grinding or sanding of the portions where the wrong sheen was applied. Now everything is augmented. No sleek bannisters or railings as ordered! When they installed the final time , they cracked the baseboard due to over tightening. They claim it was already cracked which it was not. They have now ghosted me for weeks. Take your money elsewhere. They are a disaster to work with all the way to the owner and will just deliver substandard product. Wish I'd gone with the lower bidder...would give no stars if that was possible! read more

I had a window well grate made for a really big and deep window well in my backyard. For the past couple of years we've just had a piece of plywood that was fitted to it that the previous homeowners had placed there, but I have a toddler now and I wanted something sturdier. The guy that came out to measure was super nice and professional, and the price was reasonable (after installation about $250 for a custom grate - half due on order, half on delivery). It took a little longer than I would have like to get (about 5 weeks to construct it and get it powder coated), but I'm super happy with it. The guy that came to install it was just as nice and professional as the first. And it fits perfectly! Now if my toddler takes a tumble next to it, I'm not worried about him falling.....big relief for me! If I need any more work done, I will definitely be giving them a call. read more

Allen installed 4 security doors and security grates in our home in 2015. ALL of the doors are showing significant wear and tear in the frame.... the frames are actually broken and bent to the point that the door will not latch closed! The metal frame is actually bending and separating probably because they never installed a strike plate on any of the doors. I reached out with photos in 2020 and never got a response. We have a tool box out right now attempting to close our front door (and it's 10:20 pm). Terrible. I am happy to remove this post if someone fixes all 4 of our doors. Honestly hard to tell if they are a scam or just incompetent. Total project took twice as long as they promised. Nobody knows anything when you call because this company subcontracts out the work to a different company. Railings finally arrived but were incorrect. Railings also started rusting within 3 days. To top it off, they will charge your credit card w/o permission. Just horrible. read more

These guys are amazing! Cory, the sales associate I worked with helped me every step to get a door approval with our extremely overbearing HOA. He made numerous contacts, sent emails and made calls on my behalf to help us get through all the hoops and get the storm door installed. The prices were more than fair compared to other agencies we shopped and they gave us contact information for the installer if we needed them to come back for any reason and make changes to the door. Several years ago we had custom security doors made by another company and were very happy with them. When it came time for railings on a remodeled front porch we called this same company back for an estimate and were a bit shocked. So, we called Colorado Custom Iron Works for comparison purposes. The receptionist set up a convenient appointment. The salesman called to tell us he was on his way. Once he arrived, he was not pushy, had all the time in the world and appeared to be very familiar with the company's products and applicable building codes. His estimate was fair and prompted us to order an additional railing for our garage. We were invited to visit the company facility to view samples. We did so and met with the young man who would be making final measurements at our residence. Based on what he showed us, we ordered an upgrade that made a lot of sense and was very reasonable. About a week later, he arrived (again calling beforehand) made his measurements, helped with color selection, checked for any changes and discussed the installation method. We were a bit concerned about installation because the porch and stairs are brick and we wanted it done right. It was apparent he knew the company products inside and out. Several weeks later we received a call to set up an installation appointment. On the day of installation, the installer called to let us know he was on the way. The railings were beautifully manufactured. The installer knew exactly what he was doing and we could not be happier with the end product and what it adds to our home.
