Amazing absolutely amazing. My boyfriend and I went here for my birthday and had such a great time. The facility is so nice and you can really tell that the animals are very well cared for. We went on the "feeding tour" which was so fun and informational. We enjoyed learning about all the diffrent animals that live there we really learned a lot. It's so cool to be up close and personal with these animals. The staff were friendly and very knowledgeable you can tell that they really love and have a passion for animals especially wolves. Great place to take the family. Beautiful location we can't wait to come back!

The center is great, they take fantastic care of these wolves, foxes and coyotes. The good boys and girls will even start a howl for you at the end of the tour which is about $25 per person. They have children's tours and additional tours where you can get a little more intimate with the wolves. They also have a thanksgiving turkey toss for the furry residents! Please give this place a chance and visit the wolves, without conservation groups like this there's very little chance future generations will ever appreciate these beautiful creatures. And make sure to stop in the gift shop, it's more than reasonable!

This place is absolutely incredible. Places like this are often crappy, dirty and the animals are not well cared for. Not this place. The caretakers clearly love these animals and take care of them extremely well. These wolves were not taken from the wild or forced to be in a zoo. This is a true rescue situation where the animals would simply be dead if not for this place. It's clean, well maintained and on beautiful property that is very fitting for such animals. I was impressed with everything I saw and my interactions with employees and guides. They are a plethora of information of wolves and I enjoyed learning from them immensely. I will be back and even plan to explore volunteering for a week while staying in a cabin nearby. That's how impressed I am with this place.

"Hungry Like The Wolf" - Duran Duran. One of the primary reasons we visited Colorado was a belated high-school graduation gift to our son, who is crazy about wolves. What better place to go than to Divide, Colorado all the way from Hawaii! From sunshine to snow in mid-March! We landed in Denver, drove over to Manitou Springs and spent the night before driving over to Divide, on our way to Glenwood Springs. It was the perfect itinerary, evenly spaced. There are a variety of tour options, we did both the Ultimate Alpha ($500 off-season) and the general tour (about $20); all of the money goes to the conservation, education, care, maintenance, and advocating for the wolves in congress. Many of these wolves are being killed off and are critically endangered. In the past, sharks were killed off due to fear, and now they are protected and people are big advocates for sharks. We need the same kind of advocacy for the wolves. They are apex predators who keep our ecosystem healthy. If you think wolves are the primary source of death for cattle, think again, it's disease. Wolves make up less than 2% of cattle loss. I must admit I didn't think much of wolves prior to coming to the Colorado Wolf and Wildlife Center, but now I have a new-found respect for these magnificent animals with very complex and social circles, even rivaling those of humans! Our guide for the day was "Fish". He was the perfect person for the job as he was very passionate about what he was speaking of, and funny as heck too. ALPHA TOUR - do this if you can afford it, it's worth it! Our son spent 1 hour with several wolves, and two foxes. Included in the price: 50 photos taken by the resident photographer, who did a wonderful job. There's a strict dress code you can find on their webpage, so read it carefully before you show up for any kind of interactive tour. Our son said this was a bucket list of his, and he was very very happy and elated for days after the visit. The wolves actually licked his face and mouth!! GENERAL TOUR - We were given the option to leave after the Alpha Tour but we stuck around, and loved every minute of it. Our guide Fish gave us information about each fox/wolf and how they came to be rescued, and why having wolves and foxes as a pet is a bad idea. Highly recommended and affordable for anyone, unlike the Alpha Tour. They have cheaper interactive tours, but whatever tour you take, it's helping to fund the CWWC. OTHER FUN: The guide will howl, and make the group howl, and the wolves will all start howling as well! It was super cool to be 'part of the pack'. GIFT SHOP: super cool gift shop with a coffee shop (donations for coffee/tea/cider) attached to it so you can sit down and warm up by the fire place. A resident cat kept following us all around the store. It even followed us upstairs to the gallery/photo office and sat next to my husband. The cat really loved us. TOILETS: outside, enclosed porta-potty type. PARKING: outdoor, free parking. RETURN FACTOR: totally a 100% yes. Maybe when there is less snow.

Definitely a neat experience but be prepared for some pretty tough walking terrain. It wasn't a hard walk but the path is tiny rocks and slip out from under your feet. It was pretty hot while we were there and the heat and high altitude(9200 ft) made for a pretty tough tour for some folks in our group. We did the standard tour but I think the interactive tours would be really awesome. Nice little gift shop and not overly priced!

The wolf center is amazing for adults but we brought a 7, a 5, and a 2 yr old. Though we did get to see some wolves and a dingo type dog, the talk we listened to was long and VERY boring for the young ones. 7 years old may be an ok age. They all wanted to spend mega bucks in the gift shop, but the most interesting area they were not allowed in was upstairs. For 18 and older the upstairs had pictures of the wolves, a parakeet, and a cat. That would have been great for them to see and keep occupied. Rest rooms are like outhouses. I couldn't get the 2 yr old to use one. Not realizing she had just big girl panties on, she was soaked before we got barely in to see the wolves. I balanced the 5 yr old on a fence while holding most of his weight, and got in trouble for it. If anyone of the visitors threw something into a cage, ALL of the visitors would have to leave. This place is not for young ones. We give it 5 stars for teens and older.

Very informative about wolf conservation (though they do tell some gruesome stories about animal abuse at the beginning, so be warned if you are sensitive. The staff clearly cares most about the wolves and does not force or cajole them to come up to the front of their enclosures. They come forward for treats if they want and hang back if they don't! There is a lot of walking on steep gravel trails, so I would not recommend a stroller.

Came here as an out of town guest that just happened to drive by. This was a wonderful experience. Extremely informative and educational. The tour guides were very knowledgeable and sweet. We got to tour at feeding time, which made it a million times better! Learning about these beautiful creatures and seeing the staff interact with them was amazing. I would highly recommend this place for anyone passing through!

We knew we wanted to learn more about wolves and since my daughter is obsessed with them, we decided to make the drive! First thing, go to their website and set up a reservation to which an associate will call you back to let you know what is available. We were very fortunate to get a same-day tour even if it was the walk through tour (45 mins express tour as compared to the hour standard tour). Our guide was very knowledgeable and funny! We could tell she works with the wolves and knows facts about each one. It started to hail on us while we were on the trail, she offered to call an escort for anyone who didn't want to proceed. However, she kept on moving us through! It didn't eventually stop and when it started again we found cover under the tree. We didn't want to leave, we paid $25/person! The location is up a hill, to the right once your at the top. It's a dirt entrance so wear sneakers and pants. Just my advice! Also if you want to further help the reserve, there's a gift shop! They're AZA certified (american zoo associates toon, I believe) so they have strict rules when it comes to anything. Understandably so though. I'm so grateful that we got to meet the wolves for our first time ever! So interesting to learn about them!

I thought the walk-through was fun and educational. My younger kids really just wanted to see the animals, so they didn't pay much attention to the tour itself. There were some singing dogs that were a big hit with the kids along with the foxes. The gift shop had interesting items. The only annoyances I had were tied to the other patrons walking in front of your view or not moving forward as you walked up to the next exhibit.

What an experience!! My boyfriend got me the VIP tour as a Christmas present and it was totally worth it! You do the standard tour first which walks you around to all the enclosures, they tell you about the history of wolves in America and where each wolf came from. It's pretty sad to hear how they've been pushed to being endangered by people but hopefully they can make a comeback! The VIP part, you go in the enclosure with 2 wolves! We went in with Navi and Tala, it was intimidating at first. Tala is a smaller, more approachable and gave so many kisses!! Navi is a male and he was huge, more like what I picture a wolf in the wild to be like. You can to be pet them, interact with them, and it's so cool watching them up close! The employees and volunteers do an amazing job and I hope they're able to grow and continue their work with the wolves!

Recommend this all day! Bring the friends and family; it was a great experience. The tour guide through the center was phenomenal and very, very knowledgeable. The group asked a lot of questions and the guide had answers to every one. You can pay extra and enter the enclosures with the wolves (even got a kiss. Felt the teeth against my face and holy $&@! is that humbling). They are funded entirely though donations so PLEASE continue to support this team and these beautiful animals. They had a really nice gift shop so I picked up a few things. This was an experience I will never forget :)

Ask the Community - Colorado Wolf and Wildlife Center

How long do captive wolves live?

Wolves in captivity live to be around 16-17 on average. That is much longer than their lifespan in the wild, which is anywhere from 5-8 years.

Seven Falls started out with a semi-short shuttle ride to the actual scenery. From there, it just got more amazing. I understand how the steps could be strenuous for many, and it definitely wasn't easy, but a little stop to catch your breath is provided about midway through. I saw a couple people who didn't feel up to finishing the steps stopping at the rest point, taking some photos, and coming back down. The views were still stunning from that height. Heck, they're stunning from any height or viewpoint. There was also a little shop with delicious popsicles located before the steps. Clean bathrooms along the way as well. It all just seemed very well-thought-out. This was also partially due to the employees, who were all very helpful and pleasant. To put it simply, Seven Falls has it all-it's beautiful, clean, and unique. Amazing in every aspect, stunning from every angle. I felt immersed in the mountainscape from the first step out of that shuttle.

Finally the bus showed up & it was a 20 minute ride to the falls. Get off the bus, then walk up hill half a mile, then half to walk over 200 steps in order to get to the waterfalls and trails. When you're done, you have to go the opposite direction and do it all over again. They charge $5 a piece for any beverage (water, Gatorade, etc.) and $5 a piece for an ice cream bar. If you get tickets, get them in advance on the website. Afternoon tickets after 1pm are cheaper. You do not have the option to drive to the location yourself & taking the shuttle is a requirement. Overall, not worth the price for the wait and hassle.

We especially enjoyed getting to know all of the alpacas, along with the hilarious three brother goats who definitely put on a performance for us! We learned so much about alpaca behavior, personalities, eating habits, the shearing process, and the care involved in raising them. It was also fascinating to see the finished alpaca products, including socks, hats, gloves, sweaters, and blankets, and to better understand the process from animal to finished product.
