Well.. This is not a great idea if you use direct express.. Now they've started charging 3.50 to remove my own money.. I'm on SSI.. I have two separate cards, so 7.00. Wow, what a POSITIVE experience at Pacific Premier Bank in Paso Robles, the branch off of South River Road!!Connie Adams, you are the BEST! Just when I thought there was an issue with my account, she listened, understood my concern, but never once made me feel uncomfortable and handled the situation and my nerves in the most professional and calming manner!! I bank here but our main accounts are at another bank. I'm not sure why though, because THIS bank is the friendliest & most accommodating I've ever banked at. I've followed them from Park Street, when they were Mission Bank and our store's bank, then Spring Street and now 12th Street. The other day I needed a document notarized and Kristen ( I need to find her card & edit this to make sure I got her name right) but she reminded me of why I've hung on to this bank for my business! It's always had that small hometown feeling. And Kristen's great customer service was that reminder! She notarized my document and it was so easy. Another long overdue review here. Great drive-thru hours; open until 6 pm on weekdays, which is a Godsend for 9-5ers like me. Very convenient. The reason for only 3 stars goes back to an incident that happened in May. I was wiring a rather large sum of money to Las Vegas (It was for a vehicle I purchased) and was essentially interrogated by what I believe to be the Branch Manager. Granted, this day and age with the amount of wire fraud that occurs I could understand his concern; it was the fact that he was openly questioning me about the details and specifics of my transaction in front of 3 other bank employees that made me very uncomfortable. Also, his patronizing attitude towards me led me to believe he figured I was some naive, dumb kid about to wire my life savings away to a con artist...I highly doubt the same conversation would have occurred if I was in my 50s and wearing a suit as opposed to in my 20s and wearing a T-shirt and shorts. Look dude, I've made wire transfers before, understand the risks, and unlike a lot of the people you deal with I'm sure, I graduated college with high marks and am very well-versed when it comes to researching companies before wiring them money. Overall, I like this bank as a whole...It just seems the Branch Manager, who I'm sure is very competent at his job otherwise, needs a refresher course in confidentiality and etiquette. read more

Drive thru had all three lanes opens but no one was at the window. After a few minutes a lady came in and took the information and said they are going to do it inside, which is fine. But a car had gotten on another lane so she took his stuff too. Another car came after she had already taken our stuff inside, she came back out and took his back. A few minutes later she came back and gave the stuff back to the first car that got there before. fine maybe his was easier than mine. Then a few more minutes she comes back with the other cars stuff and she's like she's working on yours now. That means this whole time I was waiting they haven't even started with mine. After I expressed my frustration the only thing she could say was it was her first time in drive thru. So that's how you handle complains, blame your lack of training? I said a few not so nice words and left. If you don't have the staff available then close the drive thru or only have one lane open. I'm not upset I had to wait, I'm upset that I got there before anyone else and I was the last one to leave. read more

I would recommend that bank to anyone. Friendly and very helpful staff. The drive thru feature is great for people who are in a hurry, like a business man(that's me). I was a victim of fraud once by iTunes and twice by PayPal. Bank management resolved this issue very quickly and had access to my money almost immediately. Compared to the big banks, the fees here are reasonable. The website is very clean and easy to used. It's not cluttered with advertising for the banks other services like Wells Fargo is. Only, downside it that the website does not have a mobile bank deposit feature. Going to miss this Heritage Oaks when I move out of state. read more

Heritage Oaks was 100 times better. Since the changeover I have never had so much trouble with a bank. I could not get a hold of them for the first two weeks after multiple calls to multiple locations. The website would not work. Then they charged me multiple times and claimed that though I had overdraft they would not cover checks I wrote. I did make a mistake I admit. The thing is the bank didn't charge me one time for my check they charge me five times for my check they would not reverse it claiming it was my fault. Now they won't let me close my account unless I pay all these extra fees. My daughter also has a bank account with them. They would not let her cash her check and they tried to charge her double fees for a check she wrote that would've been covered if she had been allowed to deposit her check that day. When she tried to close her account with them they tried to charge her again for the same check she paid for and had a receipt for. This bank is not honest and this goes for all Pacific premier banks. Bring back Heritage Oaks Bank I was with them for 17 years and never had any trouble with them. read more
