The branch manager Sandra helped our family with a difficult situation. We were so impressed with her knowledge of trusts and finding a quick solution which did not require an attorney. So, she saved our family from attorney fees. We did not have an appointment when we went in but we got to see her right away after speaking to a teller. Sadly, these days you expect to get a run around and passed off to several people when needing help. I had the most amazing experience with Sesloc/Paso Branch Mgr. Sandra Bautista-Floyd. Simply because I am a long time Sesloc customer Sandra went way above and beyond to solve the disastrous problem Goldman Sachs/mancus caused me. I had been trying to close/transfer a C.D. acct. since Nov. 22,2023!!! For 2 1/2 mos. I have delt with one incompetent, flunkey Goldman Sachs employee after another. 15 different phone calls, a dispute claim filed and still my money was floating around in the internet abyss Sandra knew the money wasn't going to end up at Sesloc yet she helped me regardless. With one phone call from Sandra---Firm, Direct, don't give me any B.S. the problem was solved. She even managed to uncover/confirm the secret pass code from Goldman Sachs from my phone- a flip phone I am certain is older than Sandra is. One call from Sandra and the transfer was complete. I've been with SESLOC for over 40 years and at this point I honestly can't think of one thing that keeps me here. This credit union has gone from a service-based company focused on their members to a fee-based company focused on profits and nickel and diming you to death. Don't bother doing drive up as only one teller is there to help. One star because that's the lowest I can give. Oh and now direct deposits, which used to be posted the next day, are being delayed. read more

I have been a credit union member since 1974 and so after moving from Dana Point, CA to Cambria I felt opening an account at a local institution was necessary. I visited the facility in Paso Robles and I immediately felt as though I was an inconvenience to their member services representative, (1) S*****. First, I was shocked that dogs are not allowed in the facility to which she responded, "Well we haven't started yet" (I'm guessing she felt I could just leave); I decided to let that go and began the process. After a bit I remembered that the account needed to be in the name of my Trust which appeared to irritate her since she had already begun the task. We were successful with the transaction but had I given it proper consideration, I should have walked out. (1) Footnote: Since having had posted this honest review it would appear that I am now someone whom management has chosen to give a bit more customer friendly, personal attention to by "requesting/instructing" that I remove the employee's name. Funny how the squeaky wheel gets he oil...I'm not a mean spirited person but I do believe in the first amendment and there's nothing wrong or illegal in stating the truth but that being said I've obliged by altering. read more

This credit union has been getting worse and worse. No business bill Pay on mobile devices Hours were cut and terrible waits at the drive thru "due to covid". Try calling about an issue you cannot talk to a local person. Today we went to get a document notarized. Because hey they are finally open at the Paso Robles branch. If it is not a sesloc document they refuse to do it. I was told it has been over a year. Like I should have known better I suppose. (Weren't they just closed for over a year?) Before they would do it and charge. So they will lose a loyal business and personal account customer because they are too lazy to pull out their notary book (which they obviously have but only for SESLOC documents). I recommend AVOID this place. They could care less if they have your business read more

WOW! SESLOC CERTAINLY HAS A LOT OF UNHAPPY CUSTOMERS. DO NOT BOTHER APPLYING FOR A LOAN OR CREDIT CARD WITH SESLOC. Twelve years ago, my ex-husband and I applied for a credit card with SESLOC. We both worked full time, owned a MILLION DOLLAR HOUSE, with five cars (all paid for) in our six-car garage and had a lot of cash at our disposal--and SELSLOC turned us down! Needless to say, we went to Coast Hills Credit Union on Spring Street in Paso Robles, and they were happy to give us a credit card. We were happy to close our account with SESLOC and I have been much happier with Coast Hills where they are VERY HELPFUL. Now I was trying to help a very close friend by co-signing for a small auto loan with SESLOC. They turned me down AGAIN. I have a house that is fully paid for, no car payments, just one small debt that is automatically paid on time each month. I called and explained that I have a good amount of cash available to me, but they DID NOT CARE. I guess my friends and I will be going to a Coast Hills Credit Union so they can buy this vehicle. They will be closing their SESLOC account. DO NOT WASTE TIME APPLYING FOR A LOAN WITH SESLOC. In the time it takes to get a loan approved, you can lose the house or vehicle you are trying to buy. Unfortunately in recent years, actually since Bertha F. retired, the customer service has tanked. The employees are great. However the organization has chosen to model themselves after large corporations. I enjoy the new online services, it is a necesity these days. However prior to COVID it was increasingly impossible to get a hold of a person to help with problems. After 2 hours of computer prompts, 3rd party answering service, and multiple transfers, I still do not have my problem resolved. A simple stop payment on a check, that used to take 10 minutes. Sesloc, you have forgotten who you are and what made you successful. If I wanted to talk to computers and answering services I would have gone with a national bank. read more

Years ago, my father purchased a Travel Trailer and used Sesloc to finance the purchase. At the time, we were given the option to purchase a life insurance policy, to pay off the loan if my father died. I chose to purchase the policy myself, as my dad was ill. I paid for it in full, I was the beneficiary. When my dad died, Sesloc told me they would not honor the policy. And wanted me to pay for the trailer if I wanted to keep it. I fought for a long time, but eventually gave up, as the fees and interest stacked up. Once the trailer was available to them, they abandoned it. Like what the hell. I wanted it. I will go out of my way for life, to make sure, people think twice about using Sesloc. Its not the same place it was when Bert was in charge. read more

Day 4 and I STILL do not have my money back. I was told last night that it would show up either last night or this morning. They also said that they were hit hard! IF you bank with Sesloc I would watch your accounts and really decide if you want to stay with them. I for one will be taking all my money elsewhere. I have been with Sesloc for 16 yrs. Never had any problems, until today. I found 2 fraudulent withdrawals from my bank account totally over $500. Once I discovered this I immediately went down to my nearest branch location. Not only was I told that it was my fault but they said it happens all the time! When I questioned them on key security issues they didn't have a logical answer. My field is technology and they tried to play me like a fool. Now I have to sit and wait 5-7 business for my money to be returned for their fault! I will be removing my money and finding another bank that takes these problems more seriously. read more

I have been a customer for 30 years at Sesloc. They have been very unhelpful recently with their services. Do not deal with these people on an international basis. They have left me no choice except to schedule a trip to the US and withdraw my money and put it in another bank. I can not update my credit/debit card no matter what I do or how many phone calls I make. I have no access to my money at this point and am in a foriegn country. I have spent hours and hours trying to fix this to no avail. Save yourself the grief and particularly if you are an international customer its better to find another bank. read more

We have had several Auto loans over past few years and had no issues and great service. Finally after horrible banking issues at other banks we opened a checking/savings/line of credit... We have had nothing but the most incredible service. The Paso Robles Branch provides the most excellent customer personalized service ever... Had major checking issues (my fault) called, got Richard on phone. It was like having your best friend on other line. Richard took all my info and I told him I would be over in couple hours to complete issue and everything was fine upon my arrival. Yelp needs to have the zero stars option--that is what i'd rate sesloc. It is by far the most unorganized bank I've had accounts with. It would randomly shut down my debit card when i was traveling without notice. I would have to call and explain that i need to have access to my money. Never had that problem with other local banks like Rabobank; i would use my debit card out-of-state, no issues whatsoever. Cashing insurance checks was another nightmare with sesloc. I came in with the check, the letter from my insurance company, and was told I'd have to wait over a week to cash it. Also, sesloc's security is the worst I've experienced. Several times, i would have fraudulent charges go through on my checking. One time, i got gas locally. A fee days later, somebody in Italy was charging my card. So had to close my card a few times and get new card. When it finally happened the third or fourth time (fraud), sesloc closed my card without giving me a replacement. I was told i can keep the account open, but I cannot have another bank card. Convenient, yes, rude sesloc manager, i will do that, have an open account without a way to access the money. Great idea. I filed a complaint with the fdic, to no avail. At this point, I do not even want resolution w/ sesloc. I'm just glad I was forced to switch banks. It was a major hassle at the time, but now I'm beyond happy to be free of sesloc. If you don't want huge headaches and hassles, then stay away from this bank. You will regret it if you don't. read more

I have banked at Sesloc for many years. I occasionally get a cashiers check from my other credit union and deposit into my Sesloc checking to pay this or that from my Sesloc account. Today I was told they were placing a hold on 50% of my cashiers check made out to me from my other credit union account. This is supposedly due to fraud. I asked them to phone my other local credit union as I had just been there to get the check two hours previously and they would remember. Nope-rules are rules! I would have taken cash out from my other credit union had I known Sesloc is instituting this policy across the board without regard for the customers. There are excellent online banks and other credit unions in town. I will be putting my business with somewhere that is customer service oriented. read more

I was with Coast Hills FCU for years, then started noticing that with their charges I was losing money each month, even though I had a lot of money with them. So they were making money off my money and then charging me! Well, I moved it all over to SESLOC, and there are no charges. I come out ahead with the interest. So I couldn't be happier with them. They have more friendly and personalized service at SESLOC as well, and plus, they just moved into bigger headquarters in Paso that is a lot closer to my home! read more

This isn't just for the Paso Robles branch-it's also for the SLO branch for consumer loans. (Actually I've been to all of the branches and they are all very helpful.) I've been a member of SFCU since I was 7 (which was um, uh...just a few years ago) and I love them. We have 3 vehicle loans a few personal accounts, and business account here. When the economy got really bad in 2008 (especially for us as we are self employed) THEY called us to refinance our vehicles loans with a slightly longer term but lower interest rate to help us off set our monthly payments!! I'm not kidding-they actually called us to help us get a better financing deal to help us during a financial hardship. A few times we had checks that were in danger of bouncing and they held the checks for a few hours until I could make a deposit. Awesome! ! I love the small town local service and that I'm not contributing to a corporate giant. I will always and forever recommend Sesloc to people near and far. Did I mention they have free ATM services at locations all over the county-not just Sesloc branches. Trust me, if you're at a corporate bank make the switch. You won't be sorry! read more
