I have lived not too far from here and always wanted to try the pastry's. Finally got a chance today. It was delish. We got the croissant , a chocolate croissant and a cinnamon roll. First bite of that butter croissant was something else. It was light, flaky and moist at the same time. I'd have to say that they have the best croissant. If you're in the area, you must stop by and try it. Service was fast and easy. Nice people. I walked in and didn't realize I didn't have my wallet. No biggie they didn't make a fuss. Really tasty bakery! I got the vegan potato rosemary focaccia. It was delicious! My partner really liked his hand pie and brownie too. The drinks were also pretty good. Stopped by after birding at Seward Park on a Saturday. It was crowded but the line moved quickly and staff were friendly and helpful. I haven't been in much since the interior was closed during shutdowns but I'm excited to come by more often! Baked goods are still stellar and I love the expanded breakfast menu. Tried "The Hudson" breakfast sandwich with egg, jalapeño aioli and bacon on their fresh ciabatta. I was apprehensive about such a crusty bread for a breakfast sandwich since I feel the goal is usually soft on soft but it was delicious! The crust was flavorful while the interior bread was soft and chewy. Bacon was thick and cooked perfectly. Egg was a steamed square slice which is how I like them for breakfast sandwiches. The aioli added a nice acidic component without overwhelming the familiar comfort of egg, cheese, and bacon. In my opinion a great value for about $10. Filling and delicious! read more

There are known for there meat pies. I tryed the chorizo pie, the crust is flaky and the meat fillings is just phenomenal (so tasty). The best meat pies I've had for a while. Came on a Saturday morning around 11 and it was packed. There are a limited seating inside and there is street parking available with paid to park areas as well. Busy bakery,alot of people coming in and out. You can place a order ahead of time or walk in. There is a to go shelf for pick up orders. Busy there is a wait but line goes fast. February 13 no reservations with a spot open at the bar, what could be better? The service was outstanding as I had direct attention from the bartender. She ensured that I knew everything I needed to know to order, and was very attentive. I started with the queso which came with tortillas and tostadas, although the tostadas tasted more on the stale side the piping hot tortillas were perfect vehicle for scooping up hot cheese from a cast-iron broiler pan. I moved on from my queso to the Wagyu tacos, and although the tacos were simple with just meat and corn tortilla. The sauces that were placed in front of me assisted in providing the flavors that I needed. The only item that I would say needed a little bit more attention would be the seasoning of the beef although rich and flavorful salt was definitely a need which would have enhanced the flavor that I was looking for. I would suggest moving away from strips in a taco as when biting into your taco, you don't want to have to fight the meat to try to break it away. Every time I took a bite I felt like I was fighting against each strand of meat. Overall, it was a good meal, and I walked away stuffed. This meal was also at a very decent price which made me forget my Valentine's Day would be a solo one. read more

Columbia City Bakery is only opened Thursday to Saturday (honestly, good for them!). They have online pre-orders so you can order a few days before they open or order their hot sandwiches same day. Everything is fresh baked and it's always exciting to see what new baked goods they have each week, as some of the items on the menu rotate weekly or seasonally. Here are some of my favorites: * The chorizo and mushroom hand pie are both excellent and comes out piping hot. If you had to choose, I prefer the chorizo. * Shortbread cookies are the best I've ever had, whether the weekly flavor is lime zest, coconut, or my favorite, pistachio (it's nutty!). * Ham sandwich on ficelle * Alaska breakfast sandwich * Pretzel knots: Ask for their mustard for a perfect pairing * Lemon meringue pie: The crust is perfect! They also sell Herkimer beans and frozen pie dough, which are both amazing. I also love the coffee here. Such a cute neighborhood grab and go breakfast spot! Everything is made fresh daily and it's a really cute weekend AM treat. My friends and I came here to fuel up on the breakfast sandwiches and coffee before our walk along the water. There's about 4 outdoor tables which operate on a first come first serve basis. This is a great bakery--our favorite in Seattle! We visit the city 1-2 times a year, and now we go here every morning it's open when we're in town. Stopped by this bakery to grab some lunch with my partner. The staff was nice and helpful. We grabbed a cold sandwich, a savory bread pudding, cinnamon roll, pistachio snail, and a Danish. The cold sandwich was delicious!! Simply but so flavorful! The focaccia bread was baked perfectly, light and airy. My partner enjoyed his savory bread pudding as well. The pistachio snail was very light flavored, but the baked element was perfection. The Danish was a pear Danish. Again, light flavor but delicious. The cinnamon roll is also not overly sweet. I visited for the first time June 2022 and currently they are open Thurs, Fri, and Sat from 10am-3pm for pick up (you can place your order in advance online) or walk up at the window. At 10am there was already a small line. All of the breads and pastries look amazing and fresh. I got the fruit (I think peach) danish (2 for 9.50), loaf of filone bread (6.25), and Herkimer drip coffee. Some of the best I've had! They do not offer espresso which I wish they did :). Note many of the pastries you cannot just buy one, it came in a box of 2. Similarly when ordering online some of the items you have to buy 4 or more at a time. Prices do seem a little on the higher end but worth it for a treat every once in a while! Friendly and speedy customer service. Found free street marking nearby. read more

Wow this is such a great and well run spot! They have a walk up window for ordering and you. An see what they have that's fresh baked in the window and they also have a small selection of delicious breakfast sandwiches and lunch sandwiches. Coffee and tea drinks are available as well. They keep things moving quickly and if you get a hit item they will tell you how long the wait will be. (5 min when I was there) There seems to be plenty if neighborhood parking but I imagine it could get busy and take a few extra minutes to park at busy traffic times. Totally worth it though! This place is an accidental find and I am glad I found out!. We ordered the everything croissant, spicy tomato focaccia and the savoury cheese bread pudding. The everything croissant was just pull apart with a subtle parmesan note(yummy). The focaccia blew my mind, did not have anything apart from a herby olive oil focaccia in my life but this packed a punch and it was refreshing!. My uncle and aunt had told me about this bakery a while back and I think they even brought home goodies for me to try before. Well, this past weekend, I was in the area and decided to stop in to give it a try myself! The place was busy Sunday around noon time. My friends and I noticed a lot of stuff on their menu board was marked as "SOLD OUT", so that's a good sign that they sell good stuff! I ordered: - 2 pretzel bagels ($3/each) I brought them home for Cody and I to try for breakfast the next morning. I left them out overnight and put them in ziplocs and I felt my bagel still had a good softness to it. I toasted it, added cream cheese, avocado, and some seasoning. I thought it was delicious. I loved the pistachio snails. Sure, it's a bit pricey, but you can taste the quality. And my friend's mom always said if it's quality, it doesn't really matter how much the product is. Another great neighborhood spot in Columbia City. You can find me here on weekend mornings pretty consistently. The must get items are definitely the meat torta and the pretzel with their jalapeno cream cheese. The meat torta is a baked egg dish with bread and then typically some combination or ham, bacon, cheese, poblanos, onion, broccoli or red pepper. They also have a great selection of sweet pastries as well featuring whatever fruit is in season. My grandpa loves their cookies and when I go home I often buy him a bakers dozen as a nice little surprise. They also have great homemade bread. My gf and I swing by here on weeknights to buy a half loaf for our dinner. The olive loaf is our go to. It is a spot that is definitely worth checking out! read more

I haven't tried much at Columbia City Bakery, but I like the space and the service was also friendly when I went. They brew Herkimer Coffee, which was not bad. I also tried an almond-topped french toast pastry that had great flavor, but was a bit hard for my liking. There is ample room for sitting and doing work, if necessary, and the location is great. I'd be interested to try more baked goods and pastries if I'm ever back. read more

I attended a private rooftop gathering and a friend purchased the savoury focaccia bread for me (I'm vegan). I thought it I wouldn't be able to eat it as it didn't look vegan. I was so happy to be wrong offer been back three times since just for three savory foacacia. And I live in North Seattle (this is worth the trip). Check out my pictures for non-vegan treats.
