    Choux hazelnut and chocolate

[[HIGHLIGHT]]A tiny space with lots of love.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The owner is a delight and you can truly feel his passion for pastries. If you are lucky a. There are still Choux available, be prepared to wait as there is most often a line. Delicious and worth every bite!

We tried this place for the first the other day. And the owner is European, very good smooth espresso coffee. And we had a dessert so good. Wish I could have tried more! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place is small and cute.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

    Cappuccino and raspberry cheese pastry

Stopped by early morning on a Tuesday! Not knowing what I was in for, I asked what was available. There were fresh, warm raspberry cheese pastries on the counter and some German donuts sitting on a rack. I hope to come by when there is also Choux available, but I think things are a little different during breakfast time! Cappuccino: straight forward, strong, goes well with pastries! Raspberry cheese pastry: the filling was so tasty, no raspberry seeds (a huge plus) and a creamy and slightly sweet cheese filling. Not too sweet at all and the pastry was nice a buttery. Came to us warm and we're so good!

I don't know how people live this place. I support small and local businesses but this place was my least favorite while I was in Seattle. I got the eclair and it was not average it came out of the refrigerator and already had the cream in it. I was told that the pistachio was delicious and I asked for an eclair he didn't even ask what kind I wanted. I guess eclair means with chocolate and something filled I am not even shore what was inside Will I come back no because my chocolate mocha latte badly taste like chocolate when I asked for extra. I am better off down the street coffee shop.

one of the best pastries i've ever had. Chocolate was amazing, cream filling was perfectly sweet, the bread itself was soft and fluffy.

Very sweet staff here! [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a small space with a couple of seats along the wall.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They don't have tea beverages unfortunately, but they do have espresso options. They also seem to mostly have choux pastries, which was unique too. Probably not a great option if you have dietary restrictions, but definitely a unique French bakery to check out!

We love it, Jack! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The cozy little French style cafe on the street side.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The coffee is genuinely nice so is your warm attitude. We love the Eclair you made- the best we had. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I even felt nostalgic seeing your Thermomix on the countertop !:)[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Hazelnut choux, pistachio choux with raspberry, cappuccinos
    Natalie H.

It felt like we were transported to Europe during our visit to Panterelli. The owners were so kind and friendly, and they explained what they make and where it comes from. We had the hazelnut choux and pistachio choux topped with raspberry. They were fluffy, creamy, sweet, divine goodness. The ILLY espresso is truly superior- we loved our cappuccinos and it reminded me of my time in Italy. You do not want to miss out on this lovely patisserie!

Why does Mercer Island have an abundance of fantastic bakeries?…read more La Fete is a petite pastry / coffee shop that has amazing pastries. The earlier you come the more likely you will get to eat the delicious pastries, but if you come past 11 AM you likely won't find much. Their croissants are always on the menu, but many of their pastries are seasonally available so you have to come back. I haven't tried their sandwiches yet, but those pastries are amazing. The staff here are so nice too! Super tolerant as my indecision took over my brain seeing so many pastries! I think not having anyone behind me helped with that - a rare slow moment - because once the door opened I waved the white flag, asked them to pick me 3 of their favorites and off I went. The only problem with that is I can't recall the names of what I bought. The croissant, easy. The little puffy pastry with big sugar flakes and apricot that was very light? No clue except it was delicious.

They also have small baguette sandwiches that I'd like to try next time. There was tons of traffic on a weekday morning. Overall a small space with a few small tables inside and an outdoor patio with more tables which will be lovely as the weather gets warmer, but we were able to grab a table. Great place for catching up with someone.

It was pretty easy to make a cake order and the writing was free, unlike online where it says $5 for writing. When I got the cake, I was a bit disappointed. The writing had bled onto the cake, there was a crack in the frosting and it appeared that the frosting at the bottom leaned piped to the board instead of the cake. I didn't bother mentioning this at pick up because it didn't seem like the worker was also the cake person. The cake itself was a tad dry but light and airy. For the price I paid, I was disappointed by the outcome. Even if it was due to additional cake orders due to mother's day, I do expect better than this when I buy a cake from a local bakery. Also if you like crispy croissants, I do not recommend the Sichuan pepper cruffin. It was tasty but it didn't have the crisp that you'd expect from a bakery.

Instead, at the end of the block I found a long line that I had to enter. The food is still great, but some of the personal touch feels missing, it feels a lot more like you're visiting a corporate cafe than a neighborhood spot. I am not saying that the staff working the tables is bad at all, it is just not the same without the manager/owner chatting with you after she serves your coffee and seeing how everything is. Or when you hear them speaking amongst each other in French, making it easy to feel as if you're a continent away. I'll keep coming back, I just miss the old feel.

However, my second visit after the renovation felt different from the first one. I came for lunch, and the atmosphere had changed: there was no music, almost no people, and the space felt very quiet and empty. The old La Parisienne was smaller, cozier, and always had a lively French vibe with music and energy. For me, some of that atmosphere and soul feels lost after the expansion. It's always difficult to balance growth and modernization while keeping the original authenticity that made a place special.

The croissant was on the crispier side, especially with the almond crumble on top it was a bit too cripsy for me, but I tend to like soft and flakey pastries so it's probably a matter of taste.
