My mom and I had intended to go to a place in Branford but unfortunately they were sold out so we trekked to Clinton based on previous reviews. I am so glad we did! The Branford place was not as aesthetically nice, nor was the staff as helpful. The ambience, location and crew at Indian River were fantastic. I actually live south on the shoreline in CT, and none of the places in Fairfield county even compare to this. As a matter of fact - I had gone to a place in Norwalk the week before and the staff were a bunch of teenagers who a) only took cash (suspicious), making me drive 10 min out of the way to get cash b/c they didn't have an ATM and b) didn't help me in or out of the water and c) had dirty and gross (literally wet from the last person) lifejackets. This place was the total opposite. Very professional. They provided maps, clear directions and explanations on where to go. The lifejackets were clean. The guys helped us into and out of the water. There was a changing facility and also a little shop (and restrooms) right on premises. Norwalk on the other hand (can't help but compare) gave me wrong/confusing directions and had sent me out to islands that had nowhere to get out of the kayak. The water there was choppier and I was competing with boats who left us in their wake the whole time. This place had a very nice, calm, waterway to kayak in. There was one small area where you had to watch out for boats but it was a small area. Love this place and will be driving the hour and a half whenever I want to kayak - even though I life in a beach town in Fairfield county!

Beautiful area, beautiful bay. They had both single kayaks and tandem kayaks available. They also sell kayaks and all supplies. I will be back. Highly recommended.

I literally just left the store after shopping with my husband after the most condescending…read moreinteraction at this location with one associate. (Everyone else working was really nice) At 2:00pm, a man working towards the back of the store, wearing a gray sweater, tall, shorthair, made a fantastic observation and saw we had already purchased a few items since he saw our 3 shopping bags. He overhears me and my husband but clearly wasn't listening to what we were saying, he then interrupts us and tells us that a discount is only able to be used once per day, something along those lines, he said it was a healthcare discount, not sure, so I asked him what that was since I did not know why he was saying this to us. My husband thought he had meant, were not able to shop more than once due to covid, but then the employee, said the discount at the register that's given to families is only able to be used once. He assumed we used a discount, he said usually when he sees people with a lot of bags, they usually use a discount so he was just letting us know. Just because we're Hispanic and we had more bags than he can possibly afford, he ASSUMED we can't afford items at normal price. Not only did this conversation happen, but as my husband was initially trying on jackets, this same employee SAW MY HUSBAND, and pushed him while trying to fit in between him and the jackets and said excuse me afterwards... he then came back from behind my husband AND PUSHED HIM AGAIN!!! He could've went around, he touched him, and during these times, you would think the employee would try to avoid customers due to COVID. ITS THE GOD DAMN HOLIDAYS, EVERYONE IS BUYING MORE THAN NORMAL!! Well, we left without buying my son the jacket we were looking at, they obviously don't want my Latino money. ‍ North Face, please teach your employees to mind their god damn business unless someone is asking for their opinion. This is how they end up getting recorded and put on the news... from not minding their business.

It can't be busy on a Tuesday. So I wait and expect a fairly quick pick up email. I ordered a standard black north face backpack. That should be super fast. I run errands and still no email. I go to the store and go and buy it anyway. There are three/four people working on the floor and two customers. Come on really no one could have done my online pickup. So I get to the register and finally someone interacts with me. I told them I wanted to cancel my online order bc no one bothered filling it for me. She's like oh. She had no idea how to even log in to the order pickup system. I'm like I just want to purchase it right now mad cancel my order. Another girl has comes to try and help and doesn't know how they can cancel it. Mind you I'm in a rush and that's why I did an online order. I proceed to make my purchase and the lady takes my name and number to call and tell me when my order was canceled. Never happened. Bottom line is don't offer a service if no associate even bothers to check it. I did an online order at Best Buy the same day and my order was ready in 10 minutes. So disappointed in this store. I usually buy north face from a different store but I'm done with this brand. This experience left such a bad feeling for this brand which my family loves. Since I do most of the shopping no one is getting anymore north face.
