I'm deducting a star for this review because the store doesn't carry petite sizes. One has to order online if you are short like me. However, I managed to find a pair of boy's convertible pants that fit perfectly and were cheaper than adult sized pants. I wanted to buy knee high socks and the salesperson, Heather, directed me to the display. I brought a couple of pairs to the register to buy them. Luckily, Heather noticed that the XS size was actually for children. She asked what size shoes I wore and we determined the socks would be too small. Thank you Heather for preventing me from buying them and then having to return to Vacaville to bring them back. read more

The Columbia factory store is an incredible place to get quality outdoor gear at a very fair price. They consistently have things marked down 50% and often have additional coupons if you sign up for their emails. The selection is huge and the savings are significant. Questionable customer service & made up policy. I made an online order & spent about $260. The items were not a fit so I took them to the outlet for a return. The cashier is returning my items then starts asking for my information. I tell her that I entered it while placing the order & I did not want to give my information again. I see the return total on the screen & know all I have to do is swipe my card to get it back but she makes me wait several minutes while trying to ask her supervisor if I can get my money back if I refuse to sign up for their rewards program. All the while the written return policy is posted on the cashier desk & it says nothing about being obligated to sign up for the rewards program. She calls for her managers multiple times finally someone who I assume is the supervisor comes along & begrudgingly "allows" her to do my return. Like this girl literally held my $260 hostage because I did not want to sign up for a rewards program & finally gave the money back with an attitude. What I really did not like about this experience is they were not even following company policy, they made up their own rules & tried to play by said imaginary rules. On top of that made me wait with my impatient toddler for what felt like forever as they tried to figure out how to finesse me for my information while withholding hundreds of dollars of MY money. This Columbia Factory Store in Vacaville is a less crowded factory outlet store compared to the other stores. It doesn't mean that they are not as good. It just means you're shopping more comfortably. The store is always full of all the Columbia brand clothes, shoes, and other gear. They have good prices all the time. I think the reason why they are not as crowded is that they're located on the edge of the outlet mall. But they still have to same sales and promotions. They may even have more choices because they're fewer people than the other stores. read more

Never been a fan of Columbia untill I entered this store because my bf wanted to browse around. It wasn't until I saw the cool t-shirts that I became an instant fan. They had funny sayings on the shirt like "Take a hike" and "Get reel". I'm not very girly so this type of clothing suits me. I'm so tired of shopping for women's t-shirts only to most of them bedazzled with jewels or have crazy colors. I ended up buying a stack of t-shirts at this store. No joke. My bf bought a jacket that was on sale. When he got to the register, they had to adjust to a lower price than what was scanned because of the signage. The people who helped us were incredible. My bf and I bugged most of the workers and not once were they annoyed with us. I actually had some good convos with a couple of the employees. I will be back for more t-shirts! read more

I have been shopping at the Columbia Outlet in Vacaville ever since they opened. I love their clothing line and most of the staff. I rarely leave the store without making a purchase. I like the majority of the staff, (some I just don't know) but one person that really stands out is J.P. He has been with Columbia for a while. He is very outgoing, friendly, knows the products and definitely knows the shoe department. I was very disappointed after Betty D. retired that he was not promoted to Manager. Betty D. was a wonderful Manager and would be a hard act to follow, but J.P would certainly be able to. I can't believe Columbia did not promote him to the position. In addition, I heard from some staff members that they were surprised he did not get the well deserved promotion as well. What a missed opportunity for Columbia. Sadly they did not know enough to recognize they already had a leader on the team. read more

One of my favorite and 'must visit' stores! Always a great shopping experience! I've found great jackets here on the clearance rack at 80% off. Staff is great--really nice and helpful. I walked into this store to shop and tried on a hat. I had a quick question and Betty, the lady at the register was very rude and couldn't even answer my question. I walked out and didn't buy anything. Betty has poor customer service skills. Maybe Management needs to tell their employees to not be so rude when a customer has a simple question. read more

This place is disappointing. I'm between sizes so nothing fit. Also, the pant legs aren't long enough for me. They don't have the selection of the factory store in Richmond and between that and the sizes, I fee like coming here is a waste. I'll go to Richmond. read more

This company is amazing. I've always purchased stuff online and this is the first time I'm returning a few pants that didn't exactly work out. Tucked away in the back side of the outlets, this place is a bit hard to find, but well worth peeking in. Some of their bargains are really good. For example, sometimes for work I find myself having to go to hot, tropical areas that require expedition-style lightweight long pants. But trying to find those in my size in petites is a nightmare. Funny enough, Columbia does carry these pants but they are super pricy, usually in the $60-$80 range. It's great if you can find them, as I recently did, marked down to half price or more. SOLD. Look for end of season discounts - right now, a lot of the winter jackets are on sale. read more

Good discounted prices and even better discounted specials during major weekend holiday sales. Great outdoor clothing and outerwear for the entire family. I especially like the Omni tech wear. Keeps you insulated on cold days. I wore a pair of base layer Omni tech pants underneath my golf pants while playing in the rain. It kept me warm the entire 4-5 hours. If you join the loyalty program you can earn reward money back. read more

Everyone that has not been here is missing out on quality deals! I came in here optimistic about what I would find for a Christmas gift and then it happened. BOOM! Directly in my periphery! An item that I figured to way out of my budget and then to my surprise I double checked the price tag and the markdown and I was in shock. I was so hesitant about the price that I grabbed the item and went to the counter for a price check. The associate at the counter told me the price and I was surprised and thrilled. TALK ABOUT A MARKDOWN AND A DEAL! Let me just say that I essentially paid 20 percent of the retail price. That is good timing and a REALLY REALLY GOOD DEAL. I was so excited for the deal that I received that I had to double check some of the other items in the store. I could have gotten about 4 or 5 items at a incredible price but I just got the one. I hope that the other people that were in the store realized the markdown prices and weren't swayed away by the retail tags. Let me also state that the staff here are really helpful. Like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're going to get when you head to an outlet store. But this Columbia Sportswear Outlet is full of gems and treasures and you don't want to miss out on it! If you're looking for a great jacket to get you through the winter months or even hiking/working out clothes, head to this store as fast as you can. The prices can't be beat and you will most likely end up paying a fraction of the cost than you would at REI or the actual Columbia store. I've bought jackets, flannel shirts, gloves, backpacks, vests, and waterproof pants here. The prices are incredible, the staff are helpful and friendly... seriously, my only complaint is that it's so far from Sacramento! Word of advice: If you have a AAA membership, head to the Customer Relations office BEFORE you start shopping to pick up a free coupon book (if you don't have AAA, you can buy the book for $5). It gives you an additional discounts at various stores at the Vacaville Outlet but most importantly, it's 10% off any $75 or more purchase at Columbia. read more

Love this shop. They always have my size. Great deal. All the people that work their are kind and knowledgeable of each product the sell. I always leave with a smile. They have amazing prices and the onmi heat jackets are so warm. Stay away from the North Face. Order on line if you have too. Just stay away from them. Bad vibes, bunch of Poorly educated kids working at that location. They didn't make me wash my hand to enter the store. No line, no clipboard like it's a club. I love the loyalty program. They can keep track of all purchases and they know who you are. I love this location and the brand name. The one in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania is just as good. Little bigger in size. They are always out of XXL. They clients are a bit bigger in that area. The only bummer about that location. This location always has XXL and 11.5 shoes. The employees are great too! This store has two really good things going for it: 1) The clothes are good quality, being both durable and attractive. I especially like the 3-in-one style jackets for winter sports or just staying dry in the rain. 2) The manager is super cool, very helpful, and has a great attitude. I called a couple weeks ago to find out if they had a specific product in stock. Instead of just looking to see if they had the product (they didn't have it), she also guided me around the website to suggest alternatives, and offered me a sweet coupon code so I could save a little money off the list prices on the Columbia website. The store is great, the clothes are great, and the manager (Carol I think?) is even greater. Thank you so much... I'm totally geared out for the next couple seasons now. read more

Stopped this store to pick up a rain jacket for the colder weather and I found exactly what I was looking for. The store is rather small but they have a lot of inventory to choose from from all categories which is nice. They had a good size for men's clothes, women's clothes and kids. They also had some equipment that was for sale. The whole point of shopping here was to get things on sale. I bought my windbreaker for about $40 and cake back again not to long after to get another sweater for $50. I have always been a fan of this brand because their items are good quality and they will last you a long time. The staff here was also very friendly and ask you if you need any help finding anything. Overall a good experience and I will come back here for my next Columbia purchase! One of my favorite stores at the Outlet for outdoor clothing and accessories. I always seem to find something during each visit. Today they had sales of 30% or 40% off on many clothing selections. My find was the Mountain Hardware G-50 soft shell jackets. I was able to snag it for $44 after a 30% discount and an additional 10% off with their free "Great Rewards" membership, which was free to sign-up. The clothing there are high quality and the staff are friendly. Looking forward to another great deal in a future Outlet trip. read more

This place is fantastic and the staff is phenomenal! Going on an overseas trip in a few days and needed boots and waterproof pants. Didn't see any but asked Diana and she said they just had a shipment come in and she'd try to find some. Meanwhile I checked out the boots and John was just the best! Dude knew exactly what I needed in size width and style! Very knowledgeable! Diana came back a little later and managed to find me the pants I needed! Appreciate these two so much for helping me out! Good experience and great selection. Of the items they have, they almost have every size for every color, from XS to XXXL! Prices are not the best unless you get in on a seasonal sale or the clearance racks. I'm kind of disappointed in the "rewards" program. I had joined it many years ago and never got any rewards, coupons, special sales notices or anything! Now they want everybody to join it. I suggest not joining it. Also, I wish they had more men's clothing and accessories (hats, gloves). read more

Columbia often hits the sweet spot between quality and affordability. There are some great deals in here to be found, especially on the clearance racks. Selection is limited as compared to REI or other outdoor stores, but this place does carry everything from backpacks to shoes to watches to clothing. As an added bonus, they often have a decent selection of Mountain Hardware items on sale. Staff will give you space to browse, but is very helpful when called upon with a question. read more

Do not get me wrong I Love love love Columbia Sportswear Products and will always continue to buy them. But when my partner walks into your store and is looking through your products and clothing you don't have to go directly up to him and tell him the only thing you'll have in his size is 2x because he is heavy set. Are you serious?? You work in a clothing store and this is how you would approach a potential customer and client? How would you know if they weren't shopping for a relative or spouse? I really am more in shock of the customer service than the recent elections. This person clearly shouldn't be in customer service. You are about 5ft6 brown haired caucasian women. I hope you realize what a damaging statement you are saying to someone when you approach a customer. You are a disgrace to anyone in the clothing industry. Make someone feel good about themselves, don't start off by tearing them apart. Your a sad human and I hope this company reconsiders your employment. read more

Seriously some of the best retail customer service I have experienced possibly ever. The staff in there aim to please. I was in the market for some snowboarding pants in a particular style. I was unable to find them on the floor in my size so the saleswoman looked high and low for them finally finding a pair behind the register that someone decided against purchasing. Every single salesperson in there was friendly, accommodating and considerate. Clothes are high quality and affordable. We purchased some snow gear on the way up to Tahoe, including a pack of socks that we needed for the trip. To our dismay, one of socks had a *giant* hole in it that was hidden by the packing label, despite being a brand new pair of socks. On the way back, we planned on stopping at the store for a quick exchange but hit some traffic. Nonetheless, the GPS showed that we would get there 1 minute after closing. We called the store to let them know we were coming and explained the situation. The person who answered said they have to lock the doors exactly at 7 pm and suggested we do a 50 mile round trip to do the exchange at a "closer" store. We were essentially right off the freeway. As we were pulling up, no one was coming in or out. It looked like we arrived there right on time and we literally pulled up to the curb right when the clock hit 7:00 on my ATT phone. I walked up to the door and it was already locked. The store looked less than busy. We left wondering if the door was already locked because I had called. I understand closing time, but all we needed to do was an exact exchange because they sold us a defective product, which probably would have taken a minute. I guess their one minute was worth more than helping a customer. Disappointing. read more

As soon as I entered the store with my family I was greeted by a warm welcome and smile by The employee that worked there, Monique. She had excellent customer service. She was a great help to my pregnant wife in finding her full snow gear that would keep her warm and dry. She also helped my toddler son and I find full snow gear as well. This employee was full of information on all the clothes we tried on and had a lot of info on the Omni layer jackets we purchased, which kept us comfortably warm in 20* weather. Love this place. The deals there are amazing and the staff and cleanliness of the place is amazing as well. Definitely have a returning customer. read more
