I was skeptical of this coffee shop from the exterior, but it has a quickly become one of my favorites! The staff is always so friendly and the food is so good. They are always packed, but they do have additional seating upstairs. We got a couple of pastries and some breakfast items with flavored lattes. I do like that they have some homemade syrups! Highly recommend this place for a quick brunch or coffee.

I had a giftcard for here left from a long time ago so I decided to finally use it up. During covid this was my go to coffee place as they had half gallons to go. I ordered a vanilla latte and the seasonal spicy potato hash. My coffee was delicious and came out pretty quick. Sadly though my food took over 20 mins and the eggs were overdone. It was cold too by the time it got to me. Taste was good. It's a cool place with both an upstairs and a downstairs. Seems like a lot of people go there to work and spend a good amount of time there. Seating isn't always easy, but I did find a seat upstairs. I will def come back for coffee, maybe not to eat.

I remember stopping by this place years ago, and the coffee was good, but there wasn't anything that jumped out at me and made me want to come back. I finally returned, and this might as well be a completely different store. On this Sunday that I stopped in, people were all over, some socializing, some working, some grabbing food. There is plenty of hang out space inside and outside of the shop. I didn't grab any food, but that which I saw looked great. And the coffee was excellent as well. Definitely the type of place that invites you to stay awhile

Came back to give them another try. This time i was definitely impressed. The young lady working the register was friendly and welcoming. I was informed by the manager to come back and get my drink remade on the house. I showed the workers the message and my review, but they were unaware of what was going on. They quickly got on top of it and reached out to the owner for clarification and got me together. I ordered a honey Lavender Latte (iced). It was so delicious. It was not overly sweet and you can definitely taste both the honey and lavender. This may be my go to drink. I also ordered the breakfast Sammie. It's a breakfast sandwich with bacon, fried egg, cheese, and cinnamon butter on sourdough bread. They toasted the bread perfectly and sprinkled it with a touch of sea salt. I should've gotten a side of cinnamon butter or a little extra to incorporate a little more sweetness to balance out the salty. It was delicious and filling. Thank you Rachel for ensuring my next visit and drink was better than the first!

I f*cking love Coma Coffee. It is the perfect work from home / study / hangout spot. The food is great and I'm glad they have such a robust menu. Their drinks are also fabulous and I've been working my way through their menu. I gotta say the lavender latte is a favorite. Definitely wanna go back and try their cold brew with the chocolate cold foam! I will say for remote workers it can get a little loud. So bring your noise canceling headphones and make sure your laptop / devices are charged cause they don't have a ton of outlets either. All that to say, the wifi is strong and I've never had issues with it.

It's strong! It's black. It's strong black coffee! Jet A Fuel for me! She runs bold. This spot has great parking and plenty of space to work. The aesthetic is quiet and head down! She's also got snacks! For the folks who love the syrups and pumps here and there, they have you covered! Wish I liked it! Quick friendly service!

What an absolute gem in brentwood! In an area that is a desert for good coffee Coma can be your oasis. Multi level, vibey, and delicious. First and foremost the workers are awesome. Just a slew of coffee loving folks smiling and having a good time serving students, partners, professionals, and everyone in between. You can study, catch up with friends, and even have yourself an AM espresso martini. Bar seating, table seating, stools. No matter the occasion they got you set. Oh, and the pastry box is DECADENT! The confetti cookie is incredible.

I came in to test Coma out as a coffee shop to get some work done outside of my home office. Came in on a Friday late morning. Most of the tables downstairs were already taken but I lucked out and someone was leaving as I arrived. Didn't have a chance to peek upstairs but it seemed pretty busy. Variety of coffee beverages, including seasonal specials! I had a dirty turmeric latte special which had good flavor but note that is comes iced by default. Appreciates the variety of breakfast and lunch options but will say that the prices are kind of high for what you get. Definitely recommend a biscuit though! Great texture and flavor!

excellent PSL, service was pretty quick considering how busy it was. Plenty of seating and it was spotless . the treats looked incredible.

I stopped into Coma Coffee looking forward to trying something new and interesting--a strawberry matcha latte with a shot of espresso. Unfortunately, my experience from the moment I walked in was uncomfortable and disappointing. I was greeted at the register by a staff member who was dry and disinterested. I placed my order and sat near the bar to wait. While my drink was being made, I overheard two baristas talking about it. One barista began preparing the drink by adding strawberry syrup to the milk, while the other mixed the matcha and espresso together. Midway through, one said to the other, "Why are you doing it like that? It makes the drink not as pretty." Despite this comment, they continued anyway and handed me the drink, fully aware it didn't look right. It ended up being an unappetizing brown-green color. That interaction alone made me feel like I was being handed something they weren't proud of. It felt careless and awkward--especially as a customer who paid for a specific, customized drink. Feeling uneasy about the whole thing, I went back to the register and explained what I saw and heard. Instead of an apology or any attempt to make it right, I got a half-hearted explanation about the "buoyancy" of espresso and matcha--something I know isn't the real issue. It felt dismissive and insincere, like they were brushing me off rather than addressing my concern. At the end of the day, it's not just about how the drink looked (though it looked bad)--it's about how I was made to feel. If the staff openly criticize how a drink is being made in front of the customer and then serve it anyway, it sends the message that quality and customer experience don't matter. I left feeling unwelcome and disappointed. I won't be returning.

I love Coma! The lighting, space, and customer service is always amazing. I've not had any food there I didn't like and it's a great place for me to get work done. I got the iced chai and chicken tacos and I loved them both.

always love visiting coma, whether it is to grab a quick bite or studying there. their new holiday items are so yummy! would recommend their new fruitcake matcha latte. the caprese grilled cheese was delicious!would also recommend their ginger snap cookie, it really put me in the holiday spirits. will continue to make trips over for more productivity dates!

There is more than one reason this place is packed every day of the week despite being in an unassuming spot at the bottom of an office building. The food is good, the coffee is great, and the natural lighting helps you feel not so bad about being inside working! I appreciate the all day options of both breakfast and lunch, the copious veggie options, and the creative lattes and cold brews. It is a little expensive but they are clearly making everything to order. That's why every time I have an errand in Brentwood, I bring my laptop along to get some work done in Coma's ambiance.

I didn't even have to specify how many pumps of what to put in there, they just did it and it was perfect. The right temperature, I didn't have to wait to drink it. The empanada was piping hot, so I had to let it cool and unfortunately couldn't try it before my appt. Next time tho.

The seating host and servers we met during this experience were very nice. I ordered the mushroom coffee: forest & meadow mushroom medicinal powder, served with a shot of espresso. My eggs and salad dish came out next, along with an order of their toasted sourdough bread, butter and jam I ordered (their specialty). Unfortunately, the toast was cold, as was the liquidy fruit jam. Butter was ice cold out of the frig too since it has been forgotten and needed to be retrieved. The small green salad was fresh and tasty, but the two scrambled eggs were cold and rubbery. It was hard to know who was out server because aside from the seating hostess, four more people arrived, one after the other, at varying times to get the meal and forgotten items to our small party of three. I was left feeling that more training and organized timing of meals is needed at this establishment.

This one did, so I walked over from the restaurant where we were after lunch. This is a very pleasant shop with lots of available seating. It just has a rather modern look, and it was very nice and clean. I came up to talk to a friendly barista. The pour over menu was a bit confusing because there wasn't a lot of information directly on the menu, I asked about one pour over because I had never tried a bean of that original before. She had good things to say about it, but she said that, if I wanted something fruity or floral to try Haro Wachu from Ethiopia. It was as if she read my mind because I had been wanting to try a natural processed Ethiopian. I'm really glad I took her suggestion! It was one of the best cups of coffee I've ever tried. I didn't taste so much of a note of fruit in it, but I still loved it! I made sure to make a note of what it was in case I have room for more beans at home and want to order it. So, I do wish it was easier to tell what each pour over was in the menu (They have a lot at reasonable prices!). However, I left there thoroughly impressed with the coffee. Some place where I could print off copies of my zine about protecting the environment by committing minor acts of terrorism in America's forests? Turns out, it's a place where you can listen to truly random vinyl records while eating burritos entirely too good to be available in Clayton. Nothing about the latter says this part of town except for the price, which is almost like someone's cruel idea of a joke. I'd suggest that they're the best breakfast burritos available anywhere in the area, but what do I know? I've been eating breakfast burritos since the Reagan administration, when they were invented (as far as I know), but mostly of the microwavable variety. They have the potential to be the best food possible, because they combine the two other best foods, breakfast sandwiches and Mexican food, but no one seems to put any real effort into them. They're less likely than their lunch/dinner counterpart to cause gastrointestinal distress. People suspect that the reason Chipotle gives you the runs roughly every third time you visit is because of the cilantro, which is impossible to wash, but I heard it's really the lettuce. Never get lettuce on a burrito from Chipotle. If you're getting one of those bowls, why are you even going to Chipotle? You're probably already fat, and not eating a tortilla is not going to make a difference. But I digress. Upshot is primarily a coffee shop, and I think it's generally well regarded as far as that's concerned, though I'm no expert. I drink a nice, stiff six cups or so of whatever's on sale first thing in the morning and it usually ends up being the highlight of my day. I don't need any coffee in addition to that. I might get nervous. I've had luck lately with the seasonal selections at other local coffee shops that I've visited, so I figured I'd take my chances with an iced strawberry matcha latte. It seemed like it would be nice and refreshing after getting in a few miles with the homies, and damn it if it didn't hit the spot. You could see the actual seeds in it from where they must have crushed up an actual strawberry to make it, thus justifying the price, at least as far as they're concerned. They spared no expense with the burrito either. It's filled with surprisingly large chunks of bacon and avocado. Can they afford to give you more bacon because they don't cook it to the point where it starts to shrink? I like it when it's still kinda chewy, but I'm sure many would beg to differ. That must be how bacon is served in Clayton. They don't have the lovable old James bring it out to you, but I can understand, with this being 2026. It's not the lengthiest tortilla in the world, but it's stuffed to nearly overflowing with eggs, cheese, potatoes and what have you. I'd suggest bringing a date just to see if she could wrap her lips around it, but who's got that kind of money? It would have to be someone you've already been out with a few times, who's with the program, so to speak.
