Every aspect of Comb is superb! Kristi has been doing my hair for seven years, and is a color master! She has done everything from full foil highlights, to seamless, to blended balayage, to fashion colors, and every time I leave the salon, I always feel like my color can somehow be even better than before! I have never received as many compliments on my hair as I do after she does it! Also, she does a great job of recommending products based on my hair's needs. Not only is Kristi amazing at hair, she's also very easy to talk to, and a trip to the salon is always fun with her! Dustin runs a beautiful and welcoming salon! This review is in no way a reflection of the stylist's work. The stylist was great and did great work. The reason for the 3 stars is because I went in for a consult and was quoted $220-$250. I always just assume it'll be on the higher end, so I went into this appointment excepting to pay $250 plus a $30 tip, so $280 total and I was okay with that. The day of my appt we go over what we're doing again and she mentions a root shadow and I said I didn't mind but I wanted to take the blonde up as high as possible and she said she would do baby lights instead of doing a teasing method and everything was good! I go to pay and he tells me it's $300 and I was confused because I came in for a consult and it was quoted $220-$250, so he goes and talks to her and said the price changed since she had to do baby lights instead of teasing and that there's a mandatory 20% gratuity on all services over $100. I was never told of the price increase to $300 and I was NEVER told about the 20% mandatory tip. My total came out to $360 and that is no where near what I was expecting to pay nor would I have been okay with paying that. We were moving out of state across the country the following week, so my budget was tight. Communication is key, and the lack of communication from this salon just wasn't okay. The work was great and I'm happy with it, but I do consults for a reason so I don't get blind sided and I was still blind sided. read more

Let me start by saying I am picky-- so much so, that when I moved to Omaha I still drove 3 hours to my former stylist. Basically, I was terrified to try another salon! I met Dustin through mutual friends, and by happenstance ended up designing Kristi's engagement ring. Every time she came into the store I admired her hair, and later learned she was a master colorist/invisible bead extension artist at Comb. I knew I needed to give her a try, and let me tell you-- LIFE CHANGING! I have never received so many compliments on my color, my extensions (which are seamless!), or my hair in general. I could not imagine going anywhere else than here for my brows. Dustin and Madison are personal, genuine, and most importantly incredibly skillful when it comes to eyebrows. I love that I receive the same quality of service every time I come in. It's refreshing to be asked what I like and want to see change every time I sit in the chair. It's a safe place, and I can completely digress while getting my eyebrows done. Some bring up the price, but I rather pay the $30 + tip every time than to have my brows messed up or rushed at another location. I have been going to Comb for a variety of services for at least the last decade and have consistently had a great experience. I've always felt completely welcomed, appreciated for my business, and left feeling happy and satisfied. Dustin and his staff are accommodating, patient, kind, and generally really lovely people. As for the last two years dealing with COVID, I've appreciated their adherence to rules and guidance from the various state and local agencies. They are a small business and need to stay open to maintain the livelihood of the staff - if that means placing a piece of fabric over my nose and mouth for the duration of my visit, I'm happy to do it. I want to see them stay open and this is the way to do it; I am not put out by it at all. In fact, it shows me just how much they care about not only public safety but each other. If there is a way to score this management 0 I would. I made a consultation appointment with Kristy Murdock @ CBH, I had my consultation and I showed pictures of Cristy Tiegen blondes. We looked at a few photos of her similar color. Kristy said we can come close to that. She seems like a super nice lady, and I enjoyed my time with her. I requested no orange, no brassy and no caramel hair. I guess this is the point of having a consultation and paying $50 upfront. Front desk was very professional and courteous. The salon was clean.I had a rather late appointment from 5:15 to 8:45. My hair did not turn out desired color. After blow drying my hair Kristy kindly said, "I can wash it and tone it down if you like no problem" I returned the gesture with saying let me wash it a few times sometimes hair settles. It was way too late and we both were tired after a long work day. I left paying total of $315. Days later I left a VM requesting an appointment as my hair looked way too caramel. Kristy did not return my call. I left another VM. This time a gentleman named DUSTIN called back and my nightmare started. Dustin was not there, when I had my consultation.he did not see any of the photos I showed. And he wasn't there as I was leaving the salon to see the end product. But I remember this gentleman, as I observed his interactions with his clients. I haven't seen him smile once. I,to this day don't know if this guy is a salon manager or owner but no hairstylist should have him call their clients on their behalf. He not only ruined Kristy's reputation for me, I will never advice or step into that salon myself. If there is a way to attach the voice recording I'd love to attach his angry VM to me after our heated conversation. He needs anger management first. The conversation should never go that direction. He implied so many things from it is Kristy's time, to I got exactly what I asked for... and from charging me to tone it down to he never meant that. It is my time as well. His angry voice yelled "I AM NOT MAD AT YOU" several times. Wtf!!! Who does that! Kristy if you are reading this, do yourself a favor call your clients directly yourself instead of this angry and rude man who wasn't involved at all. I am flying to LA to have color correction probably will be paying several hundred dollars more.this is hair, mistakes happen. It is not the first time I had an undesired hair, it is fixable. But it is the first time someone called and yelled at me. Any hair colorist I worked in many many years, will tell I am a good loyal, understanding client. DUSTIN YOU RUINED ENTIRE RELATIONSHIP AND EXPERIENCE. DO NOT CALL ANY CLIENTS BEFORE YOU SEE THE END RESULTS EVER AGAIN. AND DO NOT YELL EVER AGAIN TO ANYONE. And Kristy, you have my number if you want to listen to Dustin's VM I will gladly send it to you. You seem like a person who wants to excel and do great things. I just recently moved to Omaha from Los Angeles where I used to get my brows done at Anastasia Beverly Hills, so moving somewhere that didn't have an ABH was terrifying. Madison does my brows and she does an amazing job. It can be difficult to find someone who does great brows and can be a risky process to find the right person. The brow products at the salon are great and they show you how to use them as well. It is worth the $30 for sure! Its hard to put a price on a great brow wax. I highly recommend Comb!
