Do not go here!!! This owner is really bad and harassing customers for more tips! I don't think that what she is doing is legal. We pay her employees for her she doesn't pay them. I have been going here for years and this happens always to customers, when customers are paying and the owner stands there with her eyes glued at you and your purse looking to see how much you are counting to give for tip. Most of the time when getting massages I hear people arguing with her because she's harassing them, forcing them to give more tip than they are willing to give. I found it so uncomfortable because not everyone enjoys their massage enough to want to give a 80% tip. I am generous and I have always given nothing less than 50% tips and also because I don't need her embarrassing me like I have seen her done to many of her customers. When you go there only 3, 4 employees is the same from years. All the new ones that are super good never stayed. I spoke to two of them and they said that she never pays them she wants the tip to be their payments. Those very good one never last at her place. I went to get a 90 min massage for about $60 and I was counting my cash to give a tip of $30, I had a lot of singles on me and was counting, I gave the lady who gave me. Massage who was new and learnt she'll be leaving too a $30. But the owner started to yell at me with her outdoor voice forgetting that she's running a spa, screaming saying that, " Lady how much tip are you giving...Mo you tell me now you don't like your massage, you tell me how much tip you give"? I said that, the amount of tip that I give is non of her business. The lady I gave the tip to started to tell the boss to stop. The owner went on and on about how her employees don't stay cause they needed to get more tips and that I need to give more tip now. This was a fight for more tip. In the middle of the salon I asked her employee, are you happy with the tip I gave you, she said yes and said thank you and she was apologizing to me on behalf of the owner but the owner was busy ranting and she told me to get out never to come back to her spa. Her employee then told her in front of all the other customers that I gave her $30 tip for a $60 massage. The owner was a bit embarrassed, but at this point she has done so much damage. Go to other place to get your massage. There are way better places in the area and even cheaper and nicer spas in edge water, fort lee and on 8th streets in manhattan. Shunfa. I went in for a reflexology session, cost $35. I tipped the therapist $7 which is 20%. The owner said that tip had to be $10 which would bring it up to a 30% tip. The therapist was standing there waiting for the $3. I gave it to her because it wasn't her fault. The guy/owner is too cheap to pay for his workers and is expecting the customers to pay their wages. Living in a area where there are many massage places to choose from, I have tried them all, as the massage junkie that I am. I have been to the chains and other family run places since 1999, so I know the real deal for body work. I have been to Comfeet about 7 times since it opened (about 3 months) and am always happy with the level of professionalism, and have even been treated to a stone massage as part of my routine 2-hour massage for an incredible price that most places charge for their barely 50 minutes of service. I got the 60 minute full body massage (not on the chair). The massage seemed a bit abrupt, not smooth at all. Almost seemed like the lady was pissed and taking it out through my massage! Overall, it was comprehensive and covered all major areas, except feet. I am not sure if she just forgot or if the full body massage (which is actually more expensive than the foot reflexology or chair massage) weirdly doesn't cover the feet at this business. Even though the massage was abrupt and rushed at the beginning, it got better only because I told the lady to adjust the pressure 3 times. Overall, the massage was okay but I have definitely had better massages not too far from this location. Worst part is, when we were paying, we got strictly told to leave a 37.5% tip by the owner/manager. I always do (and encourage everyone) to tip generously specially at a massage place because they work hard, however, that doesn't mean they should be telling us to tip beyond reason. You should tip what you feel is appropriate (and yes about 20% seems a reasonable minimum) but given the service I got I did not feel 37.5% was appropriate. read more

I didn't have an appt which i do recommend to do but they were quickly able to accommodate me and my friend which was very much appreciated! The place was cute, clean, quiet and relaxing. The staff were professional and i didn't feel force to tip like other places but the massage was so good it was easy to tip well! The prices are so reasonable it's insane! This place is bullshit. I just paid for a full body massage and only got half a body massage. The woman spent the whole hour just on my back, she never massaged my front half, no legs or arms and didn't even touch my feet. At the end I asked if she was planning on massaging my feet at all and she said that I could pay for a half hour. What a racket! I have never gotten a massage where they pick and choose what parts they are going to work on. I feel like I've been robbed by this place. I hate paying for a service that I didn't receive. It's a place where you go in and get a really high quality, and strong, massage for an insane price. They've always asked me if the pressure is okay and if there was a focus spot. It's a great deal. But PLEASE, don't think that just because a place charges $40 for a service that is normally at least $100, that it means you tip against the $40. I have been coming to this place ever since they opened a few years ago and they don't disappoint. I am a fan of firm, deep tissue massages and my treatments have been consistently good, regardless of the therapist. It is a no frills massage place: do not expect candles or fluffy towels or aromatherapy. Some massage rooms do not have walls that go all the way up to the ceiling so you may occasionally hear another treatment happening. However, they are very clean and professional and a great value! ( she pressed a little and back to rubbing ) and also she was so busy on fixing the towel she covered my head. I just don't want to be rude but what the F_ _ k that towel needs to fix time to time, I'm just holding my self to grab the towel and throw it outside for not to bother her and concentrate in massaging.
