Call lights were answered in a reasonable amount of time, and whenever we had questions, someone took the time to explain things instead of rushing us off the phone. That meant a lot. The therapy team was especially impressive. They pushed my family member to work hard but were encouraging and positive the whole time. We saw real progress week by week, which gave us a lot of peace of mind. Is it a brand-new luxury facility? No. But it was clean, organized, and most importantly, the staff treated my loved one with dignity and kindness. That's what mattered most to us. Alice met me at the house and we proceeded to get information from my cousin about what was needed for his father. Then my cousin fell ill during the talk. Alice saw the severity of the situation and brought in help within a couple of hours. This was amazing. And so badly needed. Eventually a longer term solution was found by Alice and the care was used for several months until my uncle moved to assisted living. It quickly became obvious that I was going to need full-time in-home care for her during my absence. That evening, I made a phone call to Visiting Angels of Livermore. They offered to provide a full no-commitment assessment, and I accepted. The next day, Mr. Keith Beck, Executive Director, came to my home and evaluated Mom's situation and needs. Mr. Beck was on-time, professional, organized and efficient. Following the assessment, we were introduced to a recommended caregiver who, assuming my approval, would be responsible for Mom. She was professional, very conversational with Mom and an experienced caregiver. By the end of the appointments, I was confident that Mom would have good, comforting care while I was gone. I was extremely impressed that Visiting Angels responded so quickly, and was also able to provide and dedicate quality staff in a timely manner. I continued the caregiving services on a part-time basis after I returned home as Mom was still not quite stable. Another caregiver was introduced and assigned. After a couple of weeks of continued part-time care, Mom became much better and I was comfortable with stopping the services. I highly recommend Visiting Angels of Livermore. All of my experiences (and my Mom's) were positive. It is a very well managed business with a reliable, kind, and supportive team: owner, office staff, and caregivers. I know it's costly for home care,but we both agreed that these friendly folks would help us out.Price was not a problem.We made an appointment for the meet and greet home evaluation and get to know our new team members and our assistants.No one showed up at the appointmeant that they promised us in the beginning.I guess that $200,000 set aside for his companionship and round the clock care went down the drain.
