The facility seemed really nice. The staff were very freindly and there was coffee and cookies by the front door everyday. They have allot of events and activities daily and weekly that my mom seems to enjoy. The staff are as good as they get but i started noticing allot of turn over in employees . We had started to notice staffing shortages as well. My only concern is that my mother with all of her medical issues is well taken care of and that she is well tended to. After catching wind of all the staffing issues and possible management problems the family started to get concerned. Then just today i receive several calls from my mother on her cell phone which we made sure she has with her at all times. She calls and tells me shes been in her room put down to bed at 6:45 and she has used the bathroom and no body has checked in on her. So i called the front desk and they said that some one will be there shortly. 30 minute later the care takers came into the room with me on the phone and attended to her. The problem is that my mother was in a uncomfortable situation for a hour with no one tending to her. I can only imaging what it would be like for other residents that dont have a cell phone

It is all about ensuring the best quality of life possible for their residents. There is constantly fun happy activities happening. When you first visit you get the feeling of this quaint little community and then you enter and are amazed at how much space the residents have to roam around. I love the outdoor area! It is so spacious and sprawling with wonderful things to do such as the raised planter boxes. Oh and did I mention the chef uses the freshest produce that comes from their very own farm/ranch?! Probably the most impressive thing about Willow Creek is the staff. They truly care about their residents. The longevity of the staff is far greater than many other communities which provides the much needed stability that Memory care residents need to thrive. The cherry on top of all the goodness of Willow Creek is that the cost is among the most affordable in the Bay Area. If you are looking into Memory Care communities for a loved one, I definitely suggest you consider Willow Creek.

My aunt and uncle are residents there and are treated like family by the staff, who know my aunt and uncle's quirks, moods, preferences, needs-- including the setting up of my aunt/uncle's weekly Zoom bible study. Staff gracefully indulge my aunt, who has a rather demanding personality at times. (I wish I were as patient as they are with her!) Unlike many other nursing homes, Oak Creek staff seemed to love their work, which they perform as a true vocation. The building sits under a canopy of trees, nestled against a forested hillside. Residents have access to a large patio area with a garden, an aviary with cooing mourning doves, and chickens, with many seating areas. The entranceway is always decorated very festively according to season, giving it a cheerful ambiance. Art, music, movies, meditation, crafts, exercise, and many other activities fill the day. My only complaint is that I would love to live there myself and be pampered as beautifully as my aunt and uncle are!

The apartment kitchen is full, though whoever thought putting the freezer on top of the fridge should be relegated to a lifetime of stooping to find things. PUblic spaces are well designed too, espcially the main foyer. And for now at least the price is relatively good. Staff is very friendly and helps whenever possible. (A special shout-out to Facility Manager Art Blancas.) A major flaw is the food. You pay for it whether you eat it or not. The few times we tried it meats were vastly overcooked and tasteless. He was a great listener, helped us problem solve, listened to our needs and was transparent on pricing and ways we could potentially save. He did not sell us any gimmicks and was very sincere. My dad loves his room, the spacious bathroom and independence. We are very grateful to Dominic and the staff at Bellara.

When I finally reached her case worker I was told to call her social security worker, Carol. Carol told me to meet with her physical therapy team and nurses to understand her care and discharge plan. After the PT team did not show for the appointment, I rescheduled. They met and said that Carol was managing the discharge plan. The. I was told to speak with a nurse. I was constantly sent from one person to another. They seemed very disorganized and I couldn't accomplish anything over the phone and when I was onsite, it still took forever to find someone that knew what was going on. As for care, she contracted pneumonia while there. They tried to discharge her with it, which her insurance objected to. They told me that she would be going home in 48hrs. Then she died. While the EMT's were trying to revive my mother, a nurse from the facility called and asked me what I wanted to do with her body. They didn't bother getting this info upfront and I was forced to send her to their default mortuary. When I called to ask to collect her belongings they told me they had to find them. They quickly hung up. I was left wondering why did it take them 8 hours to stop the bleeding? Then the ER Dr. told me Windsor said it was a surface cut but the Dr said that was not true, mom needed 20 stitches for multiple lacerations. The Dr told me she spoke with Windsor staff letting them know that when an elderly patient falls they must immediately go to ER. You'd think Windsor would already know this. This all made our family so uncomfortable, I asked that she was not released back to Windsor.

I was putting off trying to find a care home for my mom for the last six months. Prior to that,…read morealthough she had been declining, I could still communicate with her somewhat; push her around in a wheelchair, and watch her eat most of her food. However, from January 2025 on, it seemed like every two weeks, she would get worse dramatically. She wouldn't eat; she wouldn't take her pills - she was fading in front of me everyday, and I was powerless to stop the deterioration. She needed an around the clock care giver or be at a facility at all times for her well-being, but I didn't know where to start or what to look for. I didn't have grandparents that lived to an old age and my dad died when I was a teen, so this search was foreign. I called a few places, but I didn't know what to ask for and what I should be looking for in a place for my mom. A nurse gave me Nicole Fauss's number and immediately Nicole wanted to get a sense of who my mom is. From her thorough, yet sensitive and understanding, questioning, she deduced that my mom would do much better at a smaller residence. My mom had become almost completely aphasic and her recognition of English had vanished, leaving her with just a scant familiarity with rudimentary Mandarin - and even that was pretty infrequent. So Nicole started to comb the Bay Area for possible, suitable place. She sent me names, short descriptions of these homes and contact info. I revised other things I thought that would be important as this process was undertaking: distance, dietary needs, style of food, I even thought that my mom may feel a bit more comfortable with other people who were Asian and were also in need of memory care. With all these changes, Nicole adjusted her search and would promptly send me lists of places. She would call many of these places first so I didn't have to feel so awkward during my initial phone call. All that she did for my mom and me were far more than I had ever expected anyone to commit. I called, visited and they didn't feel right. Nicole did not push me to take any of these earlier places; she just continued to look for us. I called a place that was surprisingly close to my mom's apartment. It didn't check all the boxes, but it had other aspects that Nicole could sense would be valuable to my mom's health and my state of peace. Nicole's guidance and diligence have led us to this wonderful residence for my mom and has shown that this stage of my mom's life doesn't have to be so saturated with fear and sadness. The home is small. The caregiver to resident ratio is small. There is a pretty yard. The caregivers are not Mandarin speakers, but they listen and observe attentively. The caregivers make sure that the food meets my mom's picky needs as well as her nutritional requirements. They've also expanded my mom's palate as she now eats and drinks far more than she did a month ago. The place is also not a home  specifically for elderly, memory-care residents. Because of this diversity, the energy of the home is much higher than some of the other places I have seen. Being situated in this has helped my mom. She taps her feet to the Supremes coming out of the radio; smiles (she smiles often now) at the other residents on her floor; has meals with them and tries to talk to them. I have a better comprehension of what living with dignity is like. My mom is now in a place that feels like a home, because, quite frankly, it is a home.

I liked Baywood Court the best because there is no expensive buy-in and the monthly rent is reasonable. From number 16 on the waiting list I was able to move in at mid-February. I have a one-bedroom apartment of 600 square feet facing the pool. It's between two exits so it's very convenient for my dog to go out for his business. Plus there is a half-mile trail inside the facility for his daily walk. I enjoy going through the Rose Garden and the Gazebo along many beautiful flowers and plants. Living at Baywood is like living in a hotel or a cruise ship. There is 24/7 lighting and air conditioning/heat throughout the building. I get weekly house-cleaning, change of bed linens and towels. I just leave my garbage at the door and all the packages I ordered are delivered to me . The two meals a day can be stretched to three because of the many options I can choose. In the one year I have been here, I have not cooked one meal for myself. No more driving to the gym. I just walk down the hall to my Tai Chi, Chair Yoga, and Zumba classes. We also have lots of performance by outside artists and regular health and informational meetings. Just this week we had Martini Monday, Coffee Social, and Tequila Thursday. You can play pool, jigsaw puzzles, Mahjong and many table games at the Game Room. There are also daily drive to shopping and regular visit to museums and scenic areas. Baywwod also has many group activities such as Sunday mass, Thursday Bible study, grief sharing, Spanish class, arts and crafts, movie and sports night, etc. I joined the Knit Wits to make projects for charity. I am the inventory manager and also volunteer as a cashier for our general store called The Cubby. The staff at every Department here are friendly and efficient.
