I really wanted to leave here smiling...unfortunately, it wasn't because of my dental work. From the start, the experience felt rushed and a bit disorganized. Communication was unclear, and I found myself with more questions than answers--which is not exactly comforting when someone is working on your teeth. The wait time stretched longer than expected, and the overall vibe just didn't match what you'd hope for in a place that literally has "comfort" in the name. To be fair, the staff wasn't rude--but the experience lacked the level of care and reassurance that makes a dental visit feel manageable (or at least less stressful). I'd suggest calling ahead with detailed questions and advocating for yourself if you decide to visit. As for me, I'll be exploring other options for future appointments. read more

Would give zero of possible have been calling cause I've been having trouble with my jaw and it's been swollen and in pain. I've been calling to see if they would take my insurance not exactly sure what the difference is, but my insurance works anywhere. The lady answering was telling me if she entered in whatever kind to see if it worked then her working insurance would be her full-time job. If I was able to give a ZERO and I mean absolutely a ZERO star I would. Called a few times about getting a cleaning possibly other work if needed since it's been a while that I've been to a dentist. Upon calling was met with rudeness and hostility. Upon them inquiring about my insurance they were laughing and snickering even telling me there's no way the company won't tell me what insurance it is, when not once did I mention a company I'm self employed and own my own company and I happen to know the insurance the I myself pay for. Never dealt with a doctor, nurse or dentist that has spoken Like this in anyway and I'm just saying the nice stuff that was said to me. Definitely won't be going to a place where the general staff likes to make fun or personally verbally attack customers trying to get work done that pay your paychecks. Dr.Do is very personable and makes you feel comfortable in her chair. Very confident in her assessment and I feel confident as well, very important to me. Her staff: I have not experienced such commeradery. They are very organized and always are letting you know where you are at with whatever procedure. I just can't say how nice, professional and caring Dr. Do's staff is! The office is always clean. The actual procedural rooms, immaculate, organized and just a very professional outstanding outfit. I went there for removal of my permanent retainer cause the wire was poking my mouth. I didn't have insurance at the time and I told them on the phone I was trying to find someone who could take off the permanent retainer, that's all. I also told them due to hard times over the last several years, I hadn't had insurance and had not been to the dentist in a long and I KNEW I had cavities but that wasn't the priority of the visit because I knew taking off the permanent retainer was already going to be a couple hundred dollars. I got to my appointment and the woman who took the pictures of my teeth almost immediately started shaming me for how bad I neglected my dental health and how I could need gum transplant. She didn't consult the dentist before saying all this also, she said all this within the first 20 minutes of taking pictures on a camera (not an X-ray). It wasn't a formal exam and she was saying all this to me. I felt awful. I explained due to financial difficulties, I could not prioritize dentistry work over the last couple years and she still continued to shame me. After she said all this to me, I was called back by the dentist and she was nice and didn't say any of those things the other woman said to me. Side note, I went to another dentist office after this visit to finally addressed the cavities and they did their job so well. They treated me like a human, with kindness and told me I wouldn't need anything that woman said. It was all to scare me I guess to getting work done right at that moment... I don't know. I and other family have come here for several years, and it's always been a great experience. Dr. Robert Allen has always been very helpful and always seems to genuinely care about his patients and their well being. He's also great at doing procedures with very little discomfort. He remembers all sorts of details and is very easy to talk to. I feel like I'm hanging out with an old college buddy, as opposed to Steve Martin in "Little Shop of Horrors" (which nicely captured how the pain and dread went down with my previous dentist). The front desk lady is also very friendly and quite funny when you get to know her. I can't say anything bad about this place. You always leave with a bright smile and new toothbrush. Little guys get to take a surprise from the treasure chest upon leaving. What more can you ask for? read more

Not prompt at all. Expect a long wait. Had to listen to an assistant telling another assistant how a girl was a "Slut". Incredibly unprofessional. Put us off from the get go. Asked for an itemized statement for what I payed for, and the women said she couldn't print it out. What she meant was she WOULDNT print it out. My wife just came out of this office, To start she made an appointment with a specific dentist and that is not who she got. The tech didn't know how to take blood pressure properly and got a ludicrous number that if it was real would be hospital time. Then instead of getting the records from another dentist redid xrays that the insurance is not going to pay for. spent 2 hours, never saw the dentist she asked for and felt insulted. Dr Hagee is great if you get to see him, but the office staff appears to be totally incompetent. Very frustrating experience. read more

I last saw them in 2017 and loved them! I even referred 2 of my close friends because of how great the doctors all were. This time the experience was horrible! I will say, never had an issue with dr higgie or the front desk. The staff are all very welcoming and friendly. Well back to my experience this time, I called and made and appointment and specifically said I want to go because I have a hole in my tooth that's bugging me. Okie dokie everything good and scheduled. I show up day of appointment and everyone besides me is being called in, hour goes by and I'm finally called back. I'm told wait here someone will be in to do X-rays, 20 minutes go by and finally guy comes in and zooms to do the X-rays and says oh your here for a cleaning, follow me. Ok. I'm not here for cleaning and let them know and now on to another room for more waiting. Everyone was so confused and lost. I understand their busy but come on. Well I finally see someone else, and dentist comes in and says they can't find my X-rays and if I would mind taking them again, I tell her uh no I literally just took them! Go ask the guy what he did with them. I tell her I just want the one tooth looked at. She says ok and looks and tells me that since I didn't do X-rays she can't really tell but that they look good minus the one tooth. She also recommends I do a cap and she would give me an estimate and leaves. I say ok just so I can leave! The assistant sees me getting up with the bib and everything all ready to leave and she asks everything ok? I tell her no I'm going to just leave and explain to her that's ridiculous to lose X-rays! She said oh I found them! Smh then why did the dr leave? What if had done them again and then she finds them? I understand it's not her fault but I had to voice my opinion to someone. Finally I get the estimate and talk with checkout only to find I have a balance of $600 some dollars for something back in 2017 LMAO! I am going to start off by saying that I am absolutely terrified of the dentist. Dr. Rich and everyone else at comfort dental made me feel very comfortable and relaxed. I've had quite a lot of work done and they are always very patient and friendly even though they are usually very busy with a multitude of patients. I also love the music they play in the office. My daughter had 3 cavities (4yrs old). We went in for her procedure and we'll.. it didn't go so well. Dr Hegge was amazing, very patient with her during her crying. I just wish I was told she was better off going to a pediatric dentist. I spoke to my sisters about my daughters experience and she stated most dentist who work on teens/adults advise parents to go see pedi doctors bc there are just certain things little kids can't handle. The numbing agents and shot didn't put my daughter at ease. I work in a medical clinic so I see scared patients daily and understand the limitations of a human body. My daughter needs 2 more fillings bc she was only capable of doing 1. The after math has been horrid... she has an ulcer from the corner of her mouth to the center. I called to see what I could do to ease the discomfort or any remedies to help soothe/heal and I was told 'there's nothing'. I do appreciate the call from Dr. Hegge after her procedure.. unfortunately I wasn't able to answer. The staff was great and again very patient. It just broke my heart to see my daughter crying during her fill and the aftermath of her lip. I just went ahead and scheduled with a pediatric dentist and hoping I didn't cause a permanent fright of dentists. I take my fault as well on not booking with a pedi dentist too :( read more

I had 2 crowns and a filling done. This place is a nightmare. My perm crowns had to be buffed down 5 times. Ive had pain for a year now and cannot chew on that side. Ive seen 2 new dentist who both said the crowns were very poorly done and one needs to be removed/ remade. Also, they had the assitant buff my crown down and she buffed the wrong crown that was 5 years old instead of the one just put in at that time. Which cause pain in a tooth with no issues. The dentist had the assistant make my temp crowns which fell of twice resulting in me waiting 3 months for my perm crowns to come in. they sent crown molds out twice due to them being poorly made/cracked. I paid 1500.00 for 2 crowns and a filling. What a joke. I have 4 other crowns from a now retired dentist and have NEVER experienced anything like this. If you want to be nickle and dimed for horrible dental service go to comfort dental! read more

2.5 stars. Definitely not the best dentist experience I've ever had. I have always loved going to the dentist. Love getting my regular teeth cleaning every six months for many years. Hadn't been in almost 2 yrs due to lapse of insurance. Chose this location. The times I went the front office was training someone new both times. Which I can understand as having been a forever student for things to be slow but I feel like they still let the customer service side of it suffer. Would not describe as friendly and warm which you would hope as the front office. On to the actual cleaning part. Both times I felt like the hygienist accidentally knocking my teeth with the tools so many times. They were nice but it was pretty uncomfortable. Dr. Do was professional and nice. I had a leftover wisdom tooth pulled by her and it was quick. Afterwards, the cashier part was efficient, quick, and friendly. I've been in the morning and it was okay but going in the afternoon, they were definitely behind... I visited Comfort Dental on Thousand Oaks and was very impressed! I was very nervous and apprehensive about my appointment, but felt immediately calmed after meeting Dr. Rich and his assistant, Ada! Both did a fantastic job and ensured my comfort each step of the way! This clinic has TVs above their stations, so you can distract yourself while having work done. When a dentist tells you your fillings should be replaced every 5 years, RUN! When he tells you need fillings, get a second opinion. When he says he can do all your fillings AT THAT TIME, no appt necessary, which would use up the exact limits of your dental policy....RUN! I unfortunately did not run and let this guy do half of my fillings because he seemed trustworthy. The hygenist was confused about which teeth had the cavities and kept looking at the xrays. The x-rays were never shown to me. I requested copies the next day and got the run around...and the stink eye from the dentist when the receptionist politely told him I wanted a copies emailed. A few days later I got a nice handwritten "hope we can be friends" note from the Dentist, but not my x-rays. I went to another dentist a 2 days later who told me the 2 cavities I was told I had on the other side where non existent. This made sense because I never consume sugar, grain or drink soda. I floss daily and use a sonicare 2-4 times daily. It's practically improssible for me to have caviities and I was told I have 5. I am filing a formal complaint. In the waiting room they have a video playing of actors testimonials claiming that when they come there they are so pleased they never get a recommendation for unessessary services...A SCAM I HAD NO IDEA REALLY HAPPENS!!!! Disapointed, You have to be very careful about they might over charge you and never correct that matter prompts. You have to go there and talk to them straight. Otherwise you will be over charged that you're already paid for it Seems like my prepaid file were lost and they have to copy my receipt I called them 3 times, no replay back , went there directly made me wait over 30 min and I just got upset and left them. WOW! Dr. Hegge and team are amazing! I needed 6 fillings and I had been putting it off for over 2 years since I'd never needed a filling before and was completely petrified of the idea of a drill entering my mouth! To my pleasant surprise, I got all 6 fillings done along with a deep cleaning within 1 hour. Easy, friendly and painless (And affordable)! So very impressed! I waited for about thrifty minutes in the chair while they consulted over my X-Rays. Once they saw me about my teeth, the way in which they discussed my Z-Rays was rude and abrupt. First visit on June 9th for exam, xray, and cleaning. Paid out of pocket $95, no insurance, very reasonable. Hardly any waiting at 9am appt. Everyone was friendly. The best part, Dr. Do herself actually did the cleaning. I don't know if that's how they normally operate but I appreciated that the dentist herself did the work. Then, after a few days she mailed out a hand written note to thank me for being a client. I thought that was awesome and a warm way to connect with her patients. I don't know if I just got lucky that day and all the planets aligned for me to have a good experience or what. But I will definitely go back for my next cleaning and post a review. I don't ever look forward to dental appointments. In fact, I dreaded my appointment, this morning, because I knew my procedure would require an injection to numb my mouth. Had I known how painless my procedure would have gone, I would've spent yesterday not dreading today's appointment. I chose this office because of their name-"Comfort Dental." I hoped it wasn't just a lure but actually a description of their practice. This was the the best dental visit I've had in years. The anesthesia was injected and I barely felt the needle penetrate my skin. I had 5 cavities filled in about 30 minutes. This was no rush job, either! Though he was the only dentist in the office at the time (and was working on other patients) he still, very carefully and meticulously, completed the job. I even received a follow up phone call from him, this evening, just to make sure all was still well. I highly recommend this office. My last visit was with Dr. Heggie and my visit with him was just as pleasant. My procedure didn't involve needles and anesthesia but the work he did was equally impressive.
