They are very kind, answer all of my questions, and ensure that I am always comfortable. What a wonderful dentistry, it's in an older building but this particular office is quite nice. They have a great staff, friendly and helpful. They are also very accommodating which is almost never in a the dentists I've been to in the past 20yrs. I've called all around the 626 for prices on teeth cleaning, checkup x-rays for pre orthotics for my 15yo, and Huntington Smiles had the best price by far. It was only $79 as a package, others were asking $150-350. They also do implants, so I'll be making my appointment for a consultation very soon. I hope their prices are similarly, relatively good. read more

Started going here earlier this year. Right before the Coronavirus panic. I had been going to the same dentist for 45 years, started when I was 8 and now I am 53. My dentist was right out of Dental School when I started going with my parents. So why did I stop going to my dentist? It's simple, do the math, my dentist retired. A new dentist took over the practice but it was about a 20 mile drive so if I was going to get a new dentist I would get one closer. I live in Monterey Park so I figured I would seek out a dentist in a 7 mile radius. Did a search and Huntington Smile got rave reviews. Since I started Huntington Smile I got two cleanings. I am satisfied with the cleanings. The dentist Dr. Su DMD did a great job. The assistant was great too. They have the latest dental technology. Even have a TV with Netflix to keep your mind off of the cleaning. I personally don't need to watch TV during a teeth cleaning so it's a nice option but not necessary for me. I tried it but the procedure is so quick it's a good option but unneeded. I also had a couple fillings. They were not real cavities but arrested decay meaning decay started but stopped for some reason without doing real damage or forming a cavity. Good job Dr. Su with the fillings. The office staff are friendly and professional. The office is clean and I like the design. Very modern and futuristic. Great color scheme. Love the green. The prices are very reasonable if you don't have Dental Insurance. My mom is also a happy patient of this dental office. read more

Honestly this place is awesome from the outside, easy parking and easy to make appointments and when you get in, it's beautiful. TVs to watch what you'd like while getting a cleaning, however, the dentist told me I had like a million cavities. Honestly I couldn't even see the 'dark spots' he mentioned while trying to show me my X-rays. It was the end of the year so I figured I would get it done. Poor choice on my end. This is not for the dentists and office staff. This is specifically for this one young Asian female dental hygienist. I've been going to Huntington Smiles for a few years and have always had good experiences with the dentists, the office staff, and the dental hygienists. Zero complaints. I'm always grateful that I found this clinic. However, I wanted to write this review because of the level of unprofessionalism I experienced with this young Asian female hygienist. I'm not sure how long this hygienist has been working for the clinic but she is very rude and unprofessional. Maybe because she's young, but she needs to learn better bedside manners. On my most recent visit, I had an early morning appointment for a cleaning and she was assigned as the hygienist. During X-rays, she jammed the mouthpieces into my mouth without checking to see if I would be in discomfort. Because she was trying to rush through the entire process, she ended up having to take X-rays a couple of times and never once apologized. The entire time she was assisting with my cleaning, she kept sighing and complaining to her other colleagues about how much she hated doing cleanings, as if I wasn't the one lying on the bed having to endure her complaints. She was super inattentive with my cleaning and kept jabbing me painfully with the saliva ejector, which would make me choke and then she'd sigh some more and roll her eyes towards the dentist, who is an actual professional and remained focused on my cleaning instead of acting like a petulant child in a professional work environment. I have never received this level of disrespect from the other or Hispanic dental hygienists there and was deeply unhappy with my most recent visit. I didn't have the chance to voice my discontent with the office manager because the Asian hygienist girl spent the whole time loitering around the front desk and complaining to her colleagues after she finished my cleaning so I at least had the decency to not make her feel uncomfortable and disrespected which was what she didn't do for me. I hope she receives some proper training on her bedside manner. If she is unhappy with taking care of patients, she should at least wait until the patient physically leaves the clinic before complaining about them. Otherwise, if she's this unhappy with doing dental work, she should consider a different career. read more

I've been to Dr. Su twice now and highly recommend him and his team! 1. They're very prompt with my appointment times! I'm usually seen within 5 minutes of walking through the door. They even greet me by my first name before I even sign in! A+ 2. Great customer service - Luella at the front desk and Sonia (dental assistant/hygienist?) were very courteous on my last visit. I met others that were very friendly as well, but cannot recall their names. 3. Quality treatments/cleanings with Dr. Su. Camera imaging to show your teeth! Netflix during exams! He's also very honest about treatment options and I didn't feel pressured/pushed. 4. The staff is very accommodating and nice. With the way the appointments are set up, the wait time is very short. I am impressed by the services they offered such as watching Netflix while you get your dental work done and they can take a picture of your cavities and show you before they fix it. The molds the did for the whitening trays fit well too. I'm happy with the service they provided me. The office space is well decorated and bright. He was really considerate of my nervousness, and was also gentle when he began treating my tooth. Dr.Su's assistant was really friendly and made sure to explain everything that was going to happen before Dr.Su came in. Moreover, you can also watch Netflix while getting work done, so that is a major plus for comfort. The receptionist was also really friendly and helpful, which also aided in subsiding my nerves when I first walked in, and left the office. I'm super picky about dentists and I love this place! Their website says 'honest, conservative, gentle' and I think that's a perfect description! They don't try to upsell you any treatments and just do a great job making sure your teeth stay healthy. The office itself is relaxing with up-to-date technology. They even have a mounted tv so you can watch some Netflix which I love during my cleanings. I'm very sensitive and have had cleanings as well as two cavities filled on my first visit and both were relatively painless. Everyone at the office is very nice and time is managed efficiently. With 1 week away from getting four front permanent veneers at another dentist, Huntington Smiles was able to squeeze me in for a Zoom whitening session last minute during this Covid pandemic. I addressed my concerns with a previous Zoom whitening experience elsewhere and was hopeful of getting 15-20% improvement if not better before the BIG day. I am very happy I made the decision and do see a whiter shade than the previous location. The staff are friendly and professional and even stayed a bit after closing and not rush me out the door. By the way you can enjoy "Netflix" during the whitening, how awesome is that? There is some tooth sensitivity after but that is expected anywhere. Let me start off by saying that I hadn't been to the dentist in a solid 10 years due to bad past experiences and a deep fear of the dentist. Unfortunately, I did have a number of issues when I came in, the worst being a root canal! I was so scared leading up to the procedure because I had heard so many horror stories about root canals being painful, but thankfully I didn't feel anything! Dr Michael Su is REALLY good and gentle! I have some more work to get done but I'm not stressed out anymore before appointments! The rest of the staff is also very friendly, from the front desk to the dental assistants. I always don't feel comfortable to see dentist due to bad childhood memory. However, I know deep in my heart I really need my teeth clean. What surprised me was the high tech and equipments in the office. Also I enjoyed very much watching TV program while Dr Su doing the cleaning. It did provide lots of distraction so I didn't focus on my teeth. Dr Su did an excellent job because that was first in my life didn't feel hurts at all while cleaning my teeth. And I took my 4 years old son to do his first clean too. Before cleaning started, Dr. Su was talking to him like a good friend of his, and they chatted a little bit to make my kid more comfortable around this new dentist office. Giving 5 stars for clarification for a misunderstanding situation. Just you know. It wasn't us that had 7 no shows. I did call to cancel due to emergency once on the same day and no one ever mentioned about the cancel fee. Then I was told by your staff that there's a posted sign at your office with cancellation fee policy and I should have read it. I don't think it is good to assume all your patients will read it and if they didn't read it, I don't think it's fair to enforce the cancellation fee on them. I did notice your staff is starting to verablly inform everyone now about your cancellation policy. I get it that you are running a business and cancellation is costly to your business. My yelp review is about fairness because if I'm not given the chance to be aware of your cancellation fee and you won't take my situation into consideration, it is disheartening. However having said this. Your office never charged me the fee so thank you. Overall your office staffs are professional and nice. The dentist is skillfull and trustworthy. read more

AVOID AT ALL COSTS! This dentist did a horrible job! He drilled too far down (near nerve) during a root canal and also left a file in the same tooth! My other tooth that was a cavity is turning black at the base. When I went to a specialist to figure out what was wrong, they were horrified with his work. I will now have to have SURGERY because of Dr. Su! As other reviewers have stated, he and his staff watch the movie the patient is watching and comment on it during the procedure. This place really lives up to the reviews...i just went in this morning to see doc michael. Lots of parking. The place us suuuuper clean. Receptionist is really professional and polite and pretty. The dentist assistant is really nice and sweet(also super cute but sadly she has a bf hahah). They took x rays for me and doc broke it down for me. Got 5 surface cavity and a filling fell out. And he cleaned my teeth and it didnt hurt at all! I havent been to a dentist over 10 years cuz everyone i went to prob had terrible skills cuz it hurts and bleeding like crazy. But with doc michael i didnt feel pain and it bleed a lil but its ok its part of it... Bottom line it is suuuuper clean and everyone is so professional. Def telling my whole family to come here! HORRIBLE DENTIST! DON'T BELIEVE THE REVIEWS! As I write this review, I am in a lot of pain. I did not have 12 cavities according to a new dentist that looked at my x-rays. Many of the filling have fallen out and I continue to have problems. The worst part is that I have to have MAJOR SURGERY because of the horrible work Dr. Su did! After he messed up with a root canal-- drilling too close to a nerve and left part of the instrument in my tooth- -- he left the room and rushed in with documents for me to sign. When I called a week later to ask for an appointment to fix the problems I was having, the secretary said they weren't able to work on them! After every bad review, he floods YELP with other reviews so the bad ones don't show up. Every time I read a bad review-- the next day, there's an inconsistent number of 5 star reviews. PLEASE look into this YELP!! As other YELP reviews have stated, the Dentist and the staff watch the movie you're watching and comment on it while working on your teeth! I had the same experience. Dr. Suh had a great bed side manners. Had a camera and everything to see my mouth But my first-time experience was not positive. The dental assistant was watching Netflix, "Finding Dory" while multi-tasking between polishing my teeth, and watching Finding Dory. At one point, I was left shocked in my chair in pain. The high velocity spinning rotors of the polishing tool mutilated my lips, making contact and causing severe bleeding. No apologies, just more Dory. I literally jumped up in my chair. read more
