We immediately bonded over dogs! One of my temporary crowns is a bridge and it was coming off occasionally. The teeth in that area were very sensitive and Mary Ellen was very careful not to cause me pain, and she advised me on some dental habits I could use to ensure my teeth and gums stay healthy. Dr. Devany (?spelling) and Mel (?) came in to recement my temporary and they were kind, funny, and caring. While going to the dentist is certainly not my favorite activity, everyone who works there is extremely knowledgeable and compassionate. Plus they all love dogs! What could be better?

The receptionists were all friendly and helpful, the exterior and interior of the building were well kept and professional. I could tell the building was new, and I also appreciated all the extra sanitary steps they took due to Covid. I would definitely recommend it to anyone in the area. Price wise, it's a bit on the high end, but it makes sense when you see the quality of the office and technology.

My first interaction with Silver Lake was a phone call with Denise. I do not know her correct title but i am going to guess she runs the practice. I always felt as though I was being given the best care. Everyone who is part of the staff is just wonderful. I'm not one who is prone to anxiety attacks, so after it happened, I didn't know what to do, but I knew I wouldn't be able to go through it without gas, or some kind of sedation. The hack dentist in Danvers (who shall remain nameless) offered nothing. I found this place because my secretary recommended it to me, she had gone there for some dental implants. And thought they were really fantastic. They didn't shame me or make me feel dumb for having the anxiety attack over two cavities. They did offer me either nitrous oxide or IV sedation no questions, no problems. The dentist was great, I was comfortable for the whole process. I highly recommend.

He is a competent dentist, but obviously a miserable person. He was constantly complaining about his wife and his son. He also tried to ask me personal questions but I did not answer as I thought it was inappropriate. He whined about his father being an awful person, and complained that he was losing a lot of his patients to "new dentists" moving into town. I got tired of his complaining and switched to another dentist. His office tried to make it difficult for me to transfer my medical records and Xrays to my new dentist by delaying sending it to them. I was in the chair at my new dentist and had to get on the phone and demand they transfer them over or I would report them. They asked why I was leaving Dr. Lu and I said "You shouldn't be surprised he's losing another patient. You work for him. He's a miserable old man who should retire, get divorced, and see a psychiatrist!" I'm not surprised about the other negative reviews, but I'm just shocked that the women who report inappropriate behavior did not report him to the police and the to the American Dental Association. However Dr Bustillo worked with me through that fear, instead of rushing through tooth extraction for two impacted wisdom teeth on either side she took her time going nice and slow. Explaining everything as she went and what I'd feel, always making sure I felt okay and any movement that seemed like stress, such as my hands balling up or me tensing alot she would pause to make sure I was okay. She even recommended we only do one side as there were cavities to fill there that way I didn't have to make another visit to simply do the same area later so it was less stress. Most notably, EVERY visit they try to UPSELL for new crown, veneer's or anything to increase their payout. After refusing to proceed with a bridge to gap a rear molar extraction, this dentist proceeded to dig away at a 25 year old filling. After repeatedly refusing crown work she then advises me there is a slight crack in this old filling and it's bound to give me trouble later. THIS FILLING NEVER BOTHERD ME (+25 YEARS) AND WOULD HAVE BEEN FINE FOR MANY MORE YEARS. I guess I gave in to what I assumed was a dental concern but am now questioning her motives as it ALL SEEMS IT's BASED ON MONETARY GAIN and NOT the best interest of the patient. I advised her my dental coverage was to change before the next appointment and SHE ASSURRED ME NO WORK WOULD BE DONE WITHOUT INSURANCE VALIDATION BEFORE HAND. She assumed they covered ALL Tufts dental plans, but come to find out THEY DO NOT. So she proceeded with drilling out what I think was a perfectly good filling and replace it with new tech materials. That's when the fun began. Tufts refused payment of this filling because they're out of network. Now I am stuck with a $420 dental bill for a service I don't even think was needed. I called last week to discuss, and am still waiting (10 DAYS) for the office manager to FINALLY CALL ME BACK on this issue. My oldest stayed there and got her braces through him. Upon taking them off we weren't happy with results but could have been worse. I decided to take her to an orthodontist who said she had root absorption which is a risk with treatment. Had I known that and I clearly didn't as I had no clue what it was I obviously would have went directly to a professional as a one shot deal could be just that. Anyhow her front two teeth are loose and are now at risk to lose them. We have no choice with that risk to try another treatment. The only think that kept me in the office is your staff. Each and everyone of them is pleasant and made out visits fun. I'm very disturbed that you attempt to do something you're clearly not trained in. I paid a lot of money for nothing. You should be ashamed of yourself. I thought I dodged a bullet because your usual complaint is everyone has cavities and mine didn't. Well wouldn't that have been nice.
