I've been patient of Michael and Svetlana Gomer of MGS dental for many years. Convenient location, friendly staff, knowledgeable and experienced doctors - it's so valuable nowadays. Every problem with my teeth - small or big - has been met with careful consideration and detailed planning. And execution always got me to results I expected. Recently I made procedure called BioClear that removed empty spaces between my front teeth. It's a new procedure and Dr Svetlana Gomer is one of very few in Massachusetts to provide it. If you get anxiety about going to the dentist this is the place for you. I came here after going to a hack dentist in Danvers, and had a panic attack in the dentist chair. I had to have two cavities filled, which should've been no big deal, but they were in a terrible spot in my mouth and very big. I'm not one who is prone to anxiety attacks, so after it happened, I didn't know what to do, but I knew I wouldn't be able to go through it without gas, or some kind of sedation. The hack dentist in Danvers (who shall remain nameless) offered nothing. I found this place because my secretary recommended it to me, she had gone there for some dental implants. And thought they were really fantastic. They didn't shame me or make me feel dumb for having the anxiety attack over two cavities. Chose this dentist due to reviews. I found the assistant to be very abrasive and rude. Dr. Svetlana was very gentle. My experience with Dr. M Gomer was not a good one. His demeanor was intimidating and abrupt. I was treated very unkindly and made to feel uncomfortable about my teeth. Very unprofessional. Wonderful experience! Doctors Svetlana and Mikhail are compassionate, caring and knowledgeable. They don't recommend dental work unless you truly need it. After searching for a new dentist after nearly 30 years of going to the same dentist I looked to a more local practice. Years later I have no regrets. They have done tremendous work with my teeth and continue to do so. They are knowledgable, friendly, trustworthy, and take great pride in their work. I love Dr. Gomer and all of the staff at MGS Dental. I have been going to this location since I was a kid and when Dr. Gomer came in and took over and added on and renovated the entire place it was awesome. It is state of the art dentistry and so are all the employees. Super nice!! And getting a personal follow-up call from Dr. Gomer after having a temporary crown put in was impressive. Do yourself a favor and choose a different dentist. I chose this place after moving to Tewksbury because of positive reviews and because they had numerous quick openings in their schedule. I am now convinced that the online positive reviews of this office are all fake reviews by employees or personal friends of the practice. For many years I was unsatisfied with my smile because, since I was a child, my teeth were crooked. One of my bottom incisors crossed over the other and my upper canine stuck out. I was embarrassed by my smile. I did not like taking photographs and smiling with my teeth until a few months ago when I had the invisalign treatment from Dr. Gomer at MGS Dental. I was afraid to hear that the treatment would be a five-month process. However, the aligners were invisible and most people did not notice them. The aligners were removable so I could take them out when I had important meetings or events to attend. Using invisalign did not interrupt my lifestyle at all. I am glad that I chose invisalign over the metal braces. I have heard horrible stories about metal braces being painful. My aligners were so comfortable that sometimes I forgot I even had them on. I have also heard that people had problems with food getting stuck in their metal braces. I was glad I did not have to go through that. All I had to do was to remove my aligners when I ate. My new smile changed my life. I became more social, started to smile more and people also commented on my new smile. I always wanted to have straight teeth, but I never thought it would look so great. After all, having a confident smile can change everything. read more

FINAL EDIT [THIS IS A NEW PRACTICE - THERE WAS A MERGE]: We have been with this office going on two years now. We are unfortunately having to find a new dentist in this short period of time. They go through front desk staff like no other office. In two years, we have met 5-6 new receptionists/billers and who knows how many others in the months we weren't there. Today we received a call to come in for fillings that the dentist did not recommend in the office. This is now a husband and wife team. Dr. Gomer (Mrs.) is wonderfully kind (this was originally her practice and she is why we came to this practice), but her husband's practice in Lawrence recently closed and has now merged his practice with hers. My husband had three fillings filled in October, with a recommendation that 2 potential cavities be monitored. Today, before his next appointment, we were called to fill the remaining 2 fillings. What changed? The practices merged. This felt like a call to collect money, rather than to followup on my husband's dental care. We wish we could solely deal with Dr. Svetlana Gomer, but unfortunately her office staff are incompetent and since the merge, we haven't seen an improvement. If I sound angry, I am. This office is misleading at best. We are sad to start over, but this frustration is no longer worth it. My mother also uses this practice per our initial recommendation. They have failed to fulfill promises to mail her copies of her receipts and failed to disclose the costs of the maintenance on her false teeth. CUSTOMER BEWARE! They are wonderful for the first year, but I wouldn't recommend them for a dedicated dentist. We are now wondering if the high staff turnover is due to patient dissatisfaction. The reviews are high, but you wouldn't know it from the complaints heard while sitting in the waiting room. We don't personally know any happy patients from this office. We were initially pressured and called multiple times to ensure we left a 5-star review after our first appointment with this office. Had I known they would use that review to dupe other patients (and staff) into going through the frustrations that we are, I would never have done it. I'll leave the 4 stars & update in another year. Original: 4 stars Dr. Gomer and her staff have been very kind. We found them via 1-800-DENTIST when my husband started to feel some wisdom tooth pain. My mother was also in need a new dentist in order to get new dentures. Dr. Gomer's staff is very courteous and very informative. I have had three small indentations in my teeth for as long as I can remember. They don't show up on xrays, only by using the dental pick. Some dentists have wanted to fill them, while others have said to leave them alone. I felt some pressure to fill them once I met Dr. Gomer & her staff, so I did. It was a tough decision, because it was my first appointment at this office. I'll never know now. I almost wished there was another option presented to me to wait 6 months and see if they grew before jumping to the filling option on day 1. They did not take the time to get to know me as a patient. Mayra (scheduling) and Jessica (billing) are amazing at keeping the pricing up front & honest. Jessica called my insurance company more than once during my visit to answer all my questions. Alyssa was very comforting and made the teeth cleaning experience very enjoyable. (Alyssa even gave me a chance to get up & comfort my semi-nervous Mom in the chair in the next office while she read my xrays. That was very considerate of her. My mom didn't express her nervousness, but Alyssa knew I was concerned.) Dr. Gomer is very thorough and kind and patient. As I feel more comfortable with my new "fillings", I may amend my review to 5 stars. I am grateful that she took great care with my Mom and husband. I never knew it was possible to love your dentist -- until I saw Dr. Gomer on my first appointment with MGS Dental!! My family and I have had many dentists (military--moved a lot), but I have never been so warmly welcomed (entire staff, starting with my first phone contact), so tenderly cared for (most gentle hygienist ever), or felt that my oral and overall health was actually as important to my dentist as to me. Dr. Gomer's doctor-patient communication skills are superb. She's sensitive, empathic and patient, and takes the time to fully and clearly explain what she's doing, what if any concerns she has and why, what options exist for the patient, and what they can expect. On my first visit, during a very thorough exam, she addressed my concern regarding the damaged surface of a tooth and corrected the problem (beautifully!!) during that very same visit. She also brought to my attention the paramount need for work on two teeth that I could lose because they are cracked. (Why these issues had not been addressed by my former dentist during my regular six month visits is baffling.) Her office staff is incredibly gracious and helpful, and timely with scheduling. I was truly impressed to find all costs stated up front, to include a determination of exactly what my insurance will cover and what my co-pay will be. That certainly beats billing and waiting. I had gone to my appointment with no small amount of concern. It was just a routine visit, but we were switching from a practice we'd used for 25 years and change is hard. We don't fear dentists (though it's not our favorite activity), but we were switching because we no longer felt our welfare was of any concern to our practice except for the fees we paid. I did a great deal of research before selecting a new practice ( friends & associates, on-line reviews, calling offices & asking good questions), and MGS came out at the top on all queries. Location and cost were also considerations, but here again MGS came out at the top. After just one visit, I fully understand why, Dr. Gomer and her entire staff are absolutely wonderful. It's an additional bonus that Dr. Gomer is holistic in approach, that the office is pleasant and relaxing (soothing, even), and parking is easily accessible. read more

Wow, what an experience! This dental practice is a true gem hiding in my own home town. I came in for a consultation for replacement of 2 broken Invisalign trays from my former dentist now long retired, and left completely enamored with the staff and Dr. Gomer. My discussion with Dr. Gomer resulted in ordering the replacement trays after custom impressions by Sophie which will arrive in two weeks! This is also a one-stop practice with an Oral Surgeon on staff for more complicated issues.
