After checking to see that I already took care of that, she changed her reason for refusing me and admonished me for now being 10 minutes late. It has been years since I was able to get an appointment to get my teeth cleaned. I received a call from your office a week or two ago, and was so elated I had another chance to get my teeth cleaned! We rescheduled the appointment and I rearranged my clients to be there. I was late because I work in Clifton and Hamilton, so I made the mistake of driving up Colerain. I'd like to point out several issues incongruent with the stance taken against me this afternoon: 1. I have waited up to 20 minutes for my appointment in your office 2. You work with a demographic that struggles with transportation and accessibility to services, which makes it unconscionable to not have a grace period 3. There is no policy regarding a late arrivals 4. I have never arrived within a ten minute period and been refused service, especially a much-needed service that is difficult to get into 5. This is certainly not Patient-First, as you policy states I sincerely apologize for being late, but I do not believe the way that I was treated was in line with your practice or your policies. I have been coming to your practice for years with my child and recommended you to so many that receive poor service from other providers that accept Medicaid patients. As a dentist, you are a treasure and I never felt treated poorly because of my circumstances, until today.

I've been 3 times in the past 6 months now because I really neglected my teeth health and needed a lot of work done. I've met both doctors and they were both incredibly knowledgeable and helped me understand what I needed. But honestly, the dental assistants and dental hygienist are the amazing people who sold me on this place. I worked with Mercedes and Liz, and they were just so incredibly understanding that I was scared of the dentist, and explained everything they were doing to help me feel more at ease. When I called to change my plan to avoid the fees I was told they would not move forward without the extra powdered antibiotic fees. It's ludicrous to refuse care just because I'm unable to pay these fees. Also, according to many dental and AAP guidelines the amount of sites they wanted to treat and to charge me for was not even ethical practice. With that being said, the work I wanted to agree to would have cost me $339. They wanted me to pay $1800 without checking to see how well my gums healed after the initial cleaning. If you're careful with your money and care go elsewhere. If you have money to toss around when it's not necessary Dr. Sandy was nice. UPDATE: after calling so many dentist and telling them the issue, they were all baffled. I decided to fill a complaint with the dental association board. In order to do so I needed the first and last name of the hygienist that refused to treat me. When I reached out to the office to get the names of those that examined me, they refused to give me her name. I had to sending a legal email demanding my clinical notes, with everyone who examined me, in order to get it. Furthermore, I went to a second dentist today and was told I didn't even need a deep cleaning . So what started as me being unsure about just the powder antibiotics (which the hygienist gets commission for selling) has now ended in I never even needed the cleaning period. I do not have a gum disease or any bone loss like they stated. I got situated at a second dentist for A TENTH of the price. BEWARE if you are thinking of coming here.

Today my wife had an appointment for a cleaning and called to see if I could take her place, they said no I could come in and get X-rays and schedule an appointment then. Even know I was on a waitlist for a service they sold me that I paid for already they refused to let me take her place for a simple cleaning because it was over a year since my last cleaning. If you need thousands of dollars in work done they will see you, if you need your 2 teeth cleaning a year they won't get you in. I do not recommend there scam in house insurance. You pay and they don't do what they say. Don't waste your money or time. Maybe your hygienist wouldn't walk out and quit if you treated simple cleaning that have been paid for like a priority.

Dr. Carrico is very experienced and gentle and I trust his work. I feel they are conservative in their assessments; that is to say, they don't immediately think of a thousand expensive things they could do. They just moved into a new state of the art building right around the corner from where they were and it is so nice.
