Remodeled rooms, friendly caring staff, large breakfast bar, and real bathtubs are the reasons I am glad I choose this motel again. Stayed here a couple times over the last 20 years. Didn't use the pool this time, but have in the past. Comfortable bed bed, lots of hot water for a soaking bath after a long trip, and a sleep timer for the TV makes this a wonderful place to crash after visiting or dealing with relatives. Restaurants in walking distance and close to mall and other shopping. May look dated from the location and outside but a reasonable priced gem on the inside. read more

Right after checking in at Comfort Inn, we left right away and went out to eat. When we returned from eating and somebody from our party used the bathroom, there was a used washcloth hanging on the shower head. We let the front desk know and they said to get with the person in the morning to see what could be done. When we got up this morning and talked to the lady at the front desk she was a massive JERK. After multiple times of being called a liar and being told by the lady there was no way they left a dirty used washcloth, we ended up leaving. We will be calling the manager on Monday to express our concerns read more

This definitely a no frills place. You will get a value stay. However, if you need a higher quality stay with better amenities...then I would try someplace. This facility is clean for the most part. The staff is friendly and helpful. The place is small - only 2 stories with no elevator. That tells you it has some age. For the most part the decor has been updated. The room looked modern. The beds were very comfortable. The hallway carpets were well worn and often stained. This particular non-smoking room smelled like smoke. The staff did give us a bottle of air freshener to use. However the host admitted that she couldn't smell the smoke since she smokes - apparently that was okay to her. The floor by the bed was significantly wet - no idea. The wooden bathroom door wouldn't shut - swollen I guess. The breakfast was like what you would find at other places. This facility had Canadian bacon and small sized waffles. These were unique items that showed some innovation. Everything else was fine though the dinning area is very small. Beware of the patrons in the parking lot. Depending on the hour of night you don't what to up will find. Last evening there were guys working on their trucks, music playing loudly and they were drinking heavily. read more

Stayed here for three weeks for work. The place is very clean and always smells good. The staff were friendly, helpful and all had an excellent personality. The location is absolutely perfect with everything you need within minutes. I'd definitely stay here again and I highly recommend it. read more

I can't think of another Choice Hotel that I've stayed at that wasn't nicer than this. It was generally run down, old, and loud. Another reviewer mentioned the room smell: it was a strong, chemical smell; don't know what it was, and didn't notice it after a while. read more

This is not a 5-star hotel; It is a Comfort Inn with FIVE STAR SERVICE! Very typical accommodations for this price range, although the beds were SUPER comfortable, and the rooms all had microwaves, coffee machines and oversized minifridges. The super service involved a gentleman named Jose Lopez. We booked two rooms for my wife, my son and I because our daughter was getting married at the Sugar Maple Barn in Kokomo, IN (see my separate review about that stellar wedding venue). Anyway, we got the wedding setup completed on Saturday morning, and in the early afternoon we checked in and got cleaned up for the 4:30 wedding. After the wedding reception (also at the Sugar Maple Barn) we headed back to the Comfort Inn, and my pickup was STUFFED with tables, coolers and tote-tubs. I was stressing out because there was one BIG banquet table that was preventing me from latching and locking my truck bed cover. I was worried that something would get stolen out of my truck bed, so when we rolled up to the Comfort Inn at 11:30 PM, I decided to ask the front desk attendant if there was somewhere that they could store my rogue table. Jose Lopez was on duty that night, and when he heard my request he immediately sprang into action and made some room in one of their downstairs storage closets. Just like that: PROBLEM SOLVED! Thanks Jose! I am confident that any of the other employees would have done the same thing, but it just happened to be Mr. Lopez that took my request, and I am grateful to him and to the Comfort Inn that hires and trains good folks like Jose Lopez. read more

This hotel is wonderful. I'm an employee. There are absolutely no goddamn bed bugs we wash the linen in boiling water and practically cook the linen as hot and clean as it can get due to high powered laundry machines. It is being remodeled so be patient and the odd smells in very few rooms will be gone also due to the amount of traffic and how old the building is I'd say it's just right but like I said all being remodeled by new owner. You know when you walk into a place and you get that feeling like you don't want to stay there, and want to head someplace else?  Follow your gut. To sum up the review quickly:   My family was falsely accused of smoking in a room and charged almost $270.00.  My wife, daughter and I do not and never have smoked.  Frankly I don't know how you would know if the last person smoked in this particular room, as it smelled so bad to begin with.   When the charge was brought to the hotels attention, their response was basically tough "sh!t".  I then called corporate to see about getting the charge reversed. Their reply was that they can document my concern, but ultimately the hotel has the final say.  No help from the customer service rep in India there. In the end, I had to have my bank reverse the fraudulent charge for me.  Never again will I stay at a Choice owned hotel. read more

If I had to do it all over again I would have booked a different hotel. The rooms smelled, they weren't cleaned very well when we checked in. There was hair clippings on the blow dryer in the bathroom. Did I mention the rooms smelled? Even after airing them out, yes the windows opened, they still smelled. I've stayed in a few hotels in Kokomo due to my work and most times in the bad winter weather I just stay in town instead of trying to get home. Saying that I was a little nervous after reading the reviews here on yelp about this hotel after booking last minute on Priceline for $65 tax included. For the most part this is a comfortable and clean place to spend the night. I was pleasantly surprised. I was in room 106 and upon entering there was a slight musty smell but I've been in worse places where they try to cover it up with a perfumed spray of some sort. After I showered in the clean bathroom the room smelled like my soap and shampoo. The toilet seat was a little loose but I have a loose one in my house too. Good water pressure and the shower head worked well. I gave the room a thorough examination, especially after reading these reviews. The place was clean. The linens were fresh and had no stains on them nor the coverlet on the bed. Two types of pillows, one soft and one more firm. Nice touch to me. Two queen beds and I looked them both over good. The carpet was in good shape and clean and I saw no sign of dirt or dust or leftover whatever from previous guests. All the hard surfaces were clean. The windows could have been cleaner but it was mostly on the outside and it is February in Indiana. Not window cleaning weather. There's a Steak & Shake right next door, like 30 yards away and an adult beverage store 30 yards beyond that. Two of my favorite types of places. I walked over in the driving snow and got six beers and some steak burgers and a vanilla milk shake. Makes a fat man happy. The pool area was clean although I forgot my swimsuit. The breakfast was very typical of most hotels in this price range. Waffles, ham, eggs (fried and hard boiled) various pastries, toast, bagels, English muffins, yogurts, cold cereals, milk and juices and fresh fruit. The staff is very attentive during breakfast although when I was checking out they were out of regular coffee. No biggie. But, when I took two cartons of milk from the fridge while I was eating the attendant gal came out and took inventory of everything she replaced the milk. The only downer at breakfast was some Amish dude shuffling around with no shoes on. C'mon Graber, put your damn shoes on in public please! I've seen people do this in some very fine hotels as well. I don't understand why you can't take sixty seconds to put on your shoes, slippers or at least flip flops. Really ticks me off. Low class humans. For the money this place is right on point. It's not a Courtyard or Embassy Suites but I was pleasantly surprised and thought I'd write a descent review to offset the others. I can only speak from my experience. Not my favorite place to have spent the night. The hotel has no elevator which presents a challenge if your luggage is heavy, and big-girl clothes are heavy. I had to run the water in the shower for quite some time before it warmed up --an unfortunate waste of water. All the lights in the room are on the wall switch... that was interesting. A couple of the end rooms are off the stairwell rather than at the end hall... you feel as though you've been cut from the herd. read more

We chose this hotel since all the other hotels were full and we were able to get the last room. Hotel is out dated and over priced. We were in town for an event so maybe that contributed to the jacked up price. When we got in out room the ac was set on 55 and had a slight oder. We ended up going to bed and the next morning my daughter noticed blood stains on the shower curtain and on the wall under the mirror. There was also trash on the floor. When we let front staff know they discounted the room $50. That was nice and all but when you are dealing with bodily fluids you never know....we will not be staying here again! Booked this place as a Hot Rate through Hotwire. Definitely will not do that again. Place was advertised as having a hot, buffet breakfast. I have medical issues that made that an important feature. Got there and ended up having a brown bagged breakfast two days in a row. All of it were things I couldn't eat: an orange, apple juice, a cinnamon danish, and a granola bar. We had to go buy breakfast elsewhere. Staff said because I booked through Hotwire, they couldn't do anything for me. I could have stayed at a much nicer place for less money. Hotel was under construction. Had to park in the front and walk around to the back to check in. Full of construction dust and the smell of paint. read more

When I first walked up to my room, I noticed that my door had been left propped open with the door latch. It was very unsettling. It smells like stale cigarettes in here and I can see the mold pushing through the wallpaper. There were two queen beds, both lumpy but one was significantly cleaner than the other. The one closest to the window had dead ants and a dead nat all laying together in it. The top sheets on both beds had stains. I slept covered head to toe and only used the sheets to cover my feet. I also used something else to cover the pillow. The chairs were both stained. The hard surfaces had cup marks and were shinny from the last person who was in here. The staff does not clean this place! The windows are so dirty that they look blurry when you try to peer out of your dirty room to the real world. Absolutely awful. By the way, my work put me in this hotel, I had no choice. read more

We reserved a handicapped accessible room due to my husband's disability. The room especially the bathroom was completely ADA compliant. The Comfort Inn located in Kokomo, IN is a very great hotel for a single night stays, entire weekend get away, or an extra long extended stay for any reason. Me and my family booked this hotel on a friday afternoon for friday night and saturday night. But we wanted to pay cash to avoid a bank trip. We called the receptionist several times told the receptionist this. She said they needed a credit card for check-in which was fine but she then said there was no need to go to the bank because they would just put a pending charge on my card but they would never charge it because we were paying in cash. I called several times to confirm this seeing as banks close early and I had to be at work early that day. She said everything was fine but then we drove over an hour to get there and the next receptionist takes me card and license and says, " did you book online?" I said no I called yesterday she then continued to inform me in a very rude way that they only book to 21 and over for future reference. I said thats fine because my cousin is in the car we only used my card because she didn't have hers. Well then she said they don't take cash and my card was declined. Well duh because I didn't go to the bank seeing as I was told the day prior it wasn't necessary. She called her manager who then said there was nothing they could do that it was corporate policy. So I find a Quality Inn with better services for the same price and they inform me that Comfort Inn changed their policy they no longer accept cash so she's not sure why they put me through that hassel. I will be calling the general manager in the morning. This is ridiculous. Luckily I could get a room at the Quality Inn. I would recommend Comfort Inn's sister the Quality Inn. I will NEVER go to another Comfort Inn because if I had come from another state and all the other hotels were booked seeing as it is Perdue's graduation this weekend they would have left me and my family on the street. Stayed last night and staying again tonight because we have to. The rooms are not clean. We got into the room and the blankets were dirty. Also, behind the toilet is gross, the rooms smell, the shower had not been cleaned (you can see water spots from the last people who showered). There's dirt in between the bed and night stands. Lamps are dusty. There were cigarettes in the night stand. I have been a housekeeper before at a hotel, I know what all is suppose to be done to make the room clean, it has not been done here. And worst of all a couple fleas got on my daughter. Bottom line...this hotel is gross! read more

We stayed here while in town for the weekend. We booked the King Suite which was a room located at the top of the stairs to the right and all the other rooms were down a long hallway to the left. It wasn't what I'd call a suite per se, but it was nice and quiet! It was clean and smelled good. The bathroom door was so close to the toilet you kinda had to stand to one side to get it shut, but the bathroom was clean and to me that matters the most! The fan is the bathroom was extremely loud and came on with the light which was annoying while trying to get ready and talk to my husband but I loved it at night with the door shut because it made a nice white noise that drowned any noise from the stairs out. There wasn't a lot of noise though, just a few little ones running up and down the stairs burning off some energy around 9pm. We didn't use the pool area but when we walked by it looked good, not great but good. Other's we talked to that used the pool area said it was clean and nice. The continental buffet had a huge variety of food and seemed to be kept up & fresh. The staff was friendly and overall I thought for a Comfort Inn it was a pretty good read more
