We spent the night last night it was quite pleasant. There were a few lid and obnoxious people riding around yelling on a golf cart last night keeping everyone up. But thankfully the owners were on top of it. We took showers at the bathhouse and it was nice. They have serveral different amenities not found everywhere else and wonderful customer service. The owners are friendly, and let us set up a large area for the tents, tables, cooking, etc. Some sites have water and electricity. There are plenty of trees, a pool, a pond, etc. Firewood and ice are available at decent prices. There seemed to be lots of families here, many with dogs, generally quiet. The kids can chase frogs, swim, play games, while the older folks talk/tell goofy stories. It's not far from Indiana Beach, places to fish, etc.

I should have known what to expect when I tried calling for 2 weeks to try to make a reservation…read moreand never got an answer (or a call back). Our group decided to camp here anyway. "Meh. I've experienced better," is an adequate description of this place. We only stayed one night, and our experience was just okay. The owners aren't exactly trying to impress anyone with their customer service. (This was definitely exemplified at 3:00am when the owners were trying to repair something outside their RV, pounding away with their truck lights shining directly into our campsite, talking extremely loud with each other. And when we had to track the guys down to get a site. And when the owner never came back to deliver firewood like he said he would.) The bathrooms could have been worse (we didn't shower or anything) - they're what we expected for a campground. There were port-o-potty's at the campground and the beach which were actually really clean. It's really unfortunate this place isn't being taken care of better. The beach used to be very well taken care of - the care they put into the beach is minimal. Grass/weeds/bushes are overgrown. There's not a restaurant/ice cream shop there any longer. The sites are not private at all. Fire rings and picnic tables are falling apart. If it rains, there are puddles everywhere (we got caught in the rain). Most sites did have water and electric, however, which was convenient. Their website says they rent pontoons, but when we asked about it the owner told us it was "in the shop". He said he'd call over the marina and "take care of us", but we never heard back from him. Not surprising. We had a good time because we were with friends, and really, I think that's the only thing that made us not completely dislike the place. I have been coming to Bass Lake for 27 years, and I remember a time when this campground was a really place. It's a shame to see they're not putting a little bit more TLC into this place to make it what it could be!

The staff is friendly and willing to help anyone with anything. The campground has various types of campsites. They range from fully shaded to side by side pullthroughs. They also have a tent area reserved especially for the tent camper. There is a clean bath house which include showers. Each site provides electric and water, including the tent sites. Over all Springhill Campground and Pay Pit is clean, fun, family oriented and a very pleasant experience.

My wife and I must look like alcoholics, because everyone we met liked to remind us about the rules of open liquor( by the way we don't drink). The camp spot is just grass with water and electric. No gravel pads to camp on, no picnic tables or fire pit on our spot. We were informed by one of the seasonal campers that the speed limit is 3 mph, then they sped away on his golf cart ( golf cart Average speed is 15 mph). We just had a heavy rain here and our camp site was pure mud. Well I guess I just expected more for the premium price to camp and should have just stayed in a hotel. $41.66 a night for a tent site.
