Letter sent manager.. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!! Dear Manager, I am writing to formally request a full refund for the two nights I was charged during my recent stay at your Comfort Inn property. During our stay, several serious issues occurred that made the room unsafe and prevented my family from receiving the lodging services that we paid for. First, the elevator was not working. My cousin, who has cerebral palsy, could not safely use the stairs, especially because the stairway area was dark due to lighting issues. Hotels are required to maintain accessible accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act, and the lack of a functioning elevator created a serious accessibility problem. In addition, one evening the lights in our room stopped working completely. Instead of relocating us to another room with working electrical service, we were provided with an extension cord. An extension cord is not a reasonable accommodation. A reasonable accommodation would have been relocating us to a safe room with working lights and electrical service. The following day there was also a fire involving the microwave in our room. My aunt attempted to help put out the fire and was burned during the incident. The receptionist had to come from the front desk and use a fire extinguisher to put the fire out. I was also informed that breakfast would not be provided because there was no electricity. Breakfast was advertised as part of the stay, and therefore this was another service that was not provided. Additionally, it has repeatedly been stated that the power issues were due to weather conditions. However, during our conversation it was confirmed that the hotel was experiencing an internal electrical problem and was waiting for someone to come out and repair the circuit breaker. I was also told that because it was after hours and the issue occurred over the weekend, it was difficult to find someone to come out immediately. It is important to clarify that this did not appear to be a weather-related outage. There were lights operating at nearby businesses, including the hotel next door, QVC, and the restaurant across the street where we ultimately had to go for breakfast. This indicates that the electrical problem was isolated to your property. For this reason, I respectfully ask that the issue not be attributed to weather conditions. Based on the information provided to me at the time, it was an isolated electrical issue within the hotel. Because of the accessibility issues, electrical failure, the fire incident, and the failure to provide advertised services, the hotel did not provide the lodging services that were paid for. For these reasons, I am requesting a full refund for the two nights of my stay. I am not requesting a credit for a future stay, as I do not intend to return to this property. If this matter cannot be resolved promptly, I will continue pursuing the refund through my bank and through corporate customer relations. I would appreciate your prompt response. Wow what a horrible experience if I could give this place a negative -100 I would when we made the reservation it looked ok but when we arrived it was dark dirty and had a staff that should be working in a 1 hour motel! We had issues with our reservation and every level of trying to correct it was the worst you could Imagine! None of the management staff was available nor EVER did the return any calls! I would and never ever stay a a Comfort Suites ever again! They should be classified a Motel not a hotel! I should have read the reviews before I booked it! Room and lobby were clean. 4 stars because the hallways are humid and you can hear a lot of noises at night. Lemon water also available in the lobby and complimentary water bottles in the room. Worst customer service I've ever experienced. Front desk staff was rude and threatening. Will never stay there again. Don't waste your money

When I arrived there were construction trucks in the drop off for customers. (If I were the manager I would have had them park on the side to maintain the aesthetics of the Hotel and drop off convenience for the guests. I arrived in the lobby and there were about 15 gallons of paint stacked up in the lobby (No maintenance area to store these things??). The young man at the desk was very polite but could have taken some pride in his appearance he was unkempt and his hair was in his face (not professional). I made and paid for my reservation online and was not give my AARP discount. I never received a confirmation online of my reservation either. The young man said he would contact the manager but when I asked him about it at check out he said..." well I called her but she didn't return my phone call" When I check into my room and unpacked I found out my toilet would not refill and the door security bar did not work; so I had to pack up and move rooms. I appreciated that the front desk moved me so quickly but what an inconvenience! Also they did not have any diet soda drinks in the vending machine and the pool looks like it could use a replastering. The rooms was clean except the room on the 3rd floor smelled like an old smoking room. Overall the staff was nice (could use some training and perhaps a uniform and dress code). Room needed cleaning, attention to details and a few repairs. Stains on blackout curtain, sheer curtain had extra mess of maybe sheet rock or some kind of debris clinging and hanging on at top, stains on carpet, finger nail polish stains all in bathroom and on toilet seat, tv did not have any cable or service (just a blank screen with no signal, I called front desk to ask how to get tv to work and they said cable is out... would have been better to inform us while we were checking in that it was out, so we can say never mind we'll go elsewhere), NO breakfast, nothing at all served for mornings even though dining room wall plaque and website says free breakfast, no toilet paper holder (it just sits somewhere), closet door missing (can see where hinges used to have a door as it's not painted), water sprinklers for fires are covered in thick dust, bathroom vent is also covered in dust, there were stains and rips on desk chair (that has wheels but can't roll). Carpet is falling off wall where they use it as a baseboard. Bathroom metal doorframe rusted out. Beds were pretty hard, but ok. Room was more expensive than much better hotel suite we got very next night at SpringHill Suites by Marriott, hands down, go down the road for a nice NEW clean suite there, you'll save money, get many more amenities, like a working tv and breakfast!! read more

People of color stay away!!!! I noticed that I am not the only one who has had to deal with this racist hotel from previous reviews! I sent this to the General Manager of this location, and as of today, I have still not heard one word! Corporate responded with an offer for 1-night stay as if I would want to stay at one of their locations again seeing as this one could care less about how customers are treated! While staying in your Mansfield, TX Comfort Inn located on Hwy 287 on July 12, 2019, I had a very disturbing, humiliating, and painful experience with your desk clerk on duty at the time. When I went down to breakfast around 9 am, I was the only person in the dining room and noticed that whatever was on the tv was very disturbing. I then noticed that it was tuned to FOX News. The worker on duty in the breakfast area suggested I ask the desk clerk to change the channel. I politely asked Karen who was on duty at the desk if it was possible to turn the channel. She asked me what channel would I suggest she change it to and I responded to any other channel and if it's another news channel could it just be an objective news channel? She very sarcastically suggested she could try to find the Golf channel, "but guess what I have no idea what channel that would be". I responded I didn't have a preference other than a channel that is simply not Fox News. She then stated that the channel would not be changed, period. I then asked her if this a hotel policy or a corporate policy? She responded that it was simply a choice. I then asked whose choice and she said "doesn't matter it's just a choice, and if I didn't like it I could just turn my back while eating breakfast! At this point, it is very clear to me whose choice this is. I was speechless, and after walking away to calm down, I asked her again whose choice and why this time recording the encounter. No one should ever be made to feel unwelcome, especially when they are spending money to support your business. Karen not only was extremely rude, but she was very clear in her feelings towards anyone who doesn't welcome her divisive beliefs. What stood out the most to me was the fact that your other employees, who are people of color are having to be subjected to this atmosphere daily and I find that beyond appalling. Regardless of one's personal views, they should not be on display in a public accommodation business, especially considering the current political situation we find ourselves in. She made a statement about watching what you want at home, and I completely agree, a broadcast as divisive and nonfactual based as Fox News should be watched in one's home and not in a business meant to serve all types of people. This only reinforces the message that certain people's money you will take but are not truly welcomed. As a business that serves the public, I hope that making all your customers feel welcome would be a priority and that extreme political views would be kept out of places that are meant to serve everyone. I am writing and attaching the video in the hope that what happened to me will be taken seriously and that the lack of cultural sensitivity will be addressed. read more

The only reason we aren't giving this place a 4 is some minor plumbing issues. Toilet handle handle had to be giggled to shut off and shower drain slow we reported these directly to the manger and he was on it. NOW FOR THE GOOD NEWS. From the front desk staff Check in on we great service we didn't have a reservation young man front desk very efficient . Requested extra pillows within 10 min we had them. The room was clean and ready for service. It was very quite even though we were going on major highway and our room was across the elevator. The brakfast was out standing everything from eggs to bagels bacon biscuits and gravy waffles cereal you name it . I would stay here and recommend to anyone. Worst place ever! I travel regularly and stay in hotels 12-20 times per year. During a medical appointment nearby, it became necessary to stay overnight in Mansfield, Texas. My cousin and I awoke at 10:30 pm to terrible headaches and nasal congestion. It was apparent there was mold in the room. I turned the AC down (which had been turned down to 60 deg when we first went into the room, and I turned it up to 70) and stepped on wet carpet. We were handed keys to a different room upon check in, that room was not ready, and we walked into a dirty room, and had to go back to front desk for new room. Clearly, we were given a room not fit to stay in. So, we checked out just before 6:00 am. We found a Waffle House, had an early breakfast, found a CVS for Zyrtec and just waited in the car until Drs. appointment. We were 2.5 hours from home. They were painting the hallways, but paint has never made me sick. Mold makes everyone sick. I did call the manager as I want to be refunded. No reason to pay someone to get sick and I am sure I will be in my Drs. office tomorrow! Pass this one by! read more

We came here due to getting a team discount with my son's soccer team. We got to our room and all appeared fine at first. Then, we walked into the bathroom and there were multiple long black hairs on the floor, mold in the corner of the tub, and the tub wasn't clean. But the worst was when we went to lay down and pulled the sheets back and noticed there was dried vomit all over the bedskirt. Then, while taking pictures of it, we noticed there was more dried vomit on the other beds bedskirt! It only got worse. We found food behind one of the beds. There were some stains on the wall from drinks being thrown in the trash can as well. My husband went to front desk to request a clean room and they gave him one. He walked to the new room to make sure it was actually clean and it had stains on the sheets and was just as bad as the first. He tried two more rooms, so four rooms in total. All were just as dirty. I stay here once a month when I come to check on my tenants in Arlington for the last year. It has gone down in quality and vue just in the last 2 months The prices online are half what they actually try to charge you at the desk. I got here last night, and right next door is a Holiday Inn Express for $165. This cheap Comfort Inn charged me $180 for Queen Double Bed. I wake up this morning and find the breakfast I'm always used to.... its gone. The franchise owner has decided to remove almost all the breakfast. There is literally only juice, waffles, danishes and crappy coffee. All the protein, yogurt, milk, everything is just gone. The franchise owner is trying to save money and has jacked up the prices to two or three times the amount simply because they SAY Mansfield has a lot of events, despite this being my community of 24 yrs. There are a lot of hotels on this area of Highway 287 and next door the Holiday Inn Express last night was $165, with an indoor pool and full breakfast. I will no longer stay here anymore. The rooms are not well maintained and there is a smell in the hallways of some disinfectant that smells like bodily funk or like hair not been washed and musty. This place is gross. We picked it because of the high reviews, but the reviews are deceiving. We called weeks ahead about an early check in and was told to call the morning of check in. We called at 730 and was told a room was clean and ready for us. We arrived at 1230 and had to wait to be checked in since the front desk lady was "checking out people" on the computer... I thought this was weird since there was no one physically there and you'd think a hotel's priority would be the people waiting. We got to our room and the bed was neatly made but right in the middle was a suspect stain with a curly black hair. Like it was on display. We talked to the front desk lady and we were moved rooms. As we got to the second room, we knew there would be issues when the room's door was propped open with a towel from the maid that had just cleaned it. The next room REEKED of smoke (which they obviously knew). You could barely breathe in the bathroom it was that bad and there was no working air vent.We called AGAIN but was told there was no more rooms so they brought us a plug in air freshener. Like that's going to help. We ended up propping the doors open and opening the windows trying to air the room and bathroom out. No one should have to do this at a hotel room-especially one that's almost $200! Picked this hotel based on Trip Advisor rating. Bed were nice. Rooms were clean. But walls are very thin. Plus all that doesn't matter if the employees decide to have a loud talking coffee break in the business center across from our room at 1:30 am. I had to call the front desk and ask them to stop talking about all their problems. And because the area hotels were oversold there was a buck of noise, again at 1;00 am in the nearby lobby. If you must stay here get a room away from where the employees congregate to talk. Breakfast was chaos from softball teams crowding the area. We came for the Christmas weekend for 2 nights. Great rates and pet friendly ($25/animal/night) Our first room's AC was not able to cool our room, seemed to be a bit overworked. A quick call down to the front desk and the manager was on her way up to take a look. She reset the unit, but it still wasn't cooling. She offered another room and we were moved within 10 minutes. This is quite possibly the worst hotel I've stayed in. Over 20 to choose from. My room AC doesn't work adequately, there is a smell of stale air, bad circulation, and low lighting. If you stay in this place, you would probably be a victim of identity theft. They make a photocopy of your driver's licence, your husband driver's license and the back of the credit card showing the number of the card as well as the security code. When I told the clerk that I wanted the copy she made, she said that I can get it the next morning She said that when I leave, they don't need it. I was not happy with her answer because there are a lot of people there that have access to the copy from the time she told me that to the time I leave the next day. Well, the next day when I went to checkout, the clerk gave me a different copy, not the one the night clerk made. I didn't realize it immediately; it wasn't until after I was on the road that I took a good look at the copy and realized it was a different copy. So, what they did was made a copy of the copy that was already there and gave it to me. I contacted the place and the manager was always busy, so I decided to send him an email asking what they did with the copy they retained. If they did not need the copy after I left, why did they make a copy of the copy and kept one? It is fishy. I was extremely concerned and sent the manager Chris Patel three emails asking why they kept a copy after I left. He did not answer my question, just said that they make copies of driver licenses and credit cards of all people that stay there, so did not answer my question. I sent him one email telling him that according to the Federal Trade Commission he did not have any reason to keep the copy. He did not answer. As of today, I don't know what they did with my personal and my husband personal and sensitive information. I told him on my email that if our information is used fraudulently and we have problems because of that, I will give his name to the police. He did not respond. So, if you read this, Chris Patel, why did you keep the copy of my driver's license, my husband driver's license and the back of the credit card showing the credit card number as well as the sensitive security code if The Federal Trade Commission clearly specifies that the hotel does not have any reason to do so, specially if I was not your guest anymore the moment I left your hotel. Why didn't you answer a simple question like that? I talked with the police and they say I will never stay in a hotel where they make copies of driver licenses and credit cards. I found this place through a third party and had great reviews but unfortunately the last night receptionist was Very rude. I think her name was Cathy something with a C. She was extremely rude and racist! I will never come here again if I know she works there. They gave us a confirmation call the day of our arrival to make sure we were still coming and knew how to get there.
