I told the front desk reception who told me in an indifferent and dismissive tone that since the hotel does not collect license plates at check in there was nothing he could do about it. So that's is Holiday Inn Express Suites policy or protocol for dealing with illegally parked vehicles? People are just allowed to leave their vehicles indefinitely with no occupants in them and block the front lobby check in and check out process? I then had a man that was waiting behind me get upset that I was taking too much time, because I asked about the issue. He This guest then told me he was part of the travel industry and that customer service people didn't deserve to deal with as he stated in an increasingly loud volume and several swear words later Karen's like me. That I was embarrassing myself as he's screaming and swearing at me because I am holding him up from checking in. With no rules, no customer service and no protocols chaos and crazy was allowed to kick start this check in process. I will never stay at this hotel again. It's unprofessional and shows little regard for guest safety or concerns.

She went above and beyond the other day when she realized I hadn't checked in. She emailed and called me to be sure I was okay. Who does that these days? Well Carol does! It's a new, very clean, bright hotel, in a very convenient area for shopping as well. They also offer a free complete breakfast in the morning! It was quite tasty and the entire area was always being attended to and kept immaculately clean! I can't imagine it's that much better if you're facing Golf Rd. - Bathroom ceiling lights stays on 24/7 "for safety" - the hallway lights are also bright, so I basically had to close my bathroom door and line the cracks beneath with towels to make the room dark enough. - Thin walls (you'll hear anyone moving around next to or above/below) - Limited TV with basic live cable, many stations are sports or news (no smart/streaming and few movie channels) - WiFi gets slow at peak hours (after check-in/early evening) - Deer are everywhere, so be careful driving at dawn/dusk (unrelated to this hotel, just warning you) - For the price, you'll have a MUCH better experience at the Delafield Hotel one exit down... it's about $50 more but SO worth it. Huge, modern, fancy and in the cute downtown area with beautiful walking trails and local gems like the Lumber Inn. In summary: this hotel should charge about 25% less and light sleepers should still go elsewhere. The La Quinta is comparable up the hill BTW.

We then overheard him say to two other people working that "People use that excuse to get discounts and freebies" so my mother walked back over and showed him a video of my dad in the hospital bed, comatose, while we talked to him. No apology, nothing. The others there were lovely, but as long as Patrick is working there we will not continue to patronize this hotel, even though it is the one that we have used for years, visiting for a week twice a year. TLDR; hotel itself is good, but Patrick is cruel and has lost the hotel a long time loyal patron.

I knew this when I asked to stay here for a job since I used to live a mile away off of Watertown Plank Rd. The hotel itself is decent. A few complaints. The air conditioner in my room doesn't always work. Why complain about that in April? Well, the room has gotten up to 79, and I can't sleep when it's that hot. The thermostat has a cool function where it will start the heater at a certain temp and the ac at a certain temp. Eg heat at 65 a/c at 70 where my room has been set for a few days, and it hasn't been 70. Housekeeping comes in a few times a week, not necessarily on the days I was told to expect them. They replace some of the things I've used up (shampoo/conditioner/dishwasher detergent/dish soap). So I sometimes have to ask for things they don't replace. The air conditioner not working like it should is the most annoying of the stuff. The breakfast is meh lacking. Fortunately, there is a kitchen, and I leave early enough for work, that it makes sense for me to make my own breakfast. The staff though, super nice. The laundry facilities are good. They gym is decent, better than I expected (dumbbells, ellipticals, treadmills), so I don't have to drive to Brookfield for my gym.

If you can't get out you can also have various services deliver to your room (I've had both Uber Eats and Instacart deliver to my room). Check out is done quickly and easily via text.
