Great, clean hotel to stay at. Due to attending a basketball game, I wanted to stay somewhere that was close in the area and this place was literally in walking distance to the arena. Outside of it being super close and convenient, there was also plenty of dining options to choose from, which is great and better than paying 50 bucks for a drop of cheese and stale nachos, like at most stadiums. Valet options are available as soon as you pull up and when you walk in there is plenty of staff available to help. Other perks are - it's right on the River so the views are great, free WiFi, there a bar/lounge, and a pantry to grab foods from that doesn't cost and arm and a leg. Plus, since they are now owned by Marriott, you can rack up those points!

    Blood stained mattress

WARNING - DON'T BOOK HERE - Overpaid for this awful hotel where the first room they put us in had urine on the mattress, they moved us to another room reluctantly, and the next room had blood AND urine on the mattress. Disgusting. "Manager" at the front desk told me they couldn't do anything for us since we booked through a third party. We contacted booking.com and they told us they couldn't refund because the manager told them that they offered to change the mattress. That was a lie, otherwise we obviously would have taken them up on this because who in their right mind would sleep on this. Mattress protector or not, I paid this much for the room to NOT sleep in a dirty hotel room. BEWARE. Management lies and this hotel is DIRTY.

I don't love the rooms, but the location is good. The rooms are, by design, rather small and spare. These rooms are okay for one night, but I would not like them for much longer than that. However, the location worked perfectly for us because it is within sight of the FiServ Forum where we were going to see a concert. We needed the hotel for a place to crash after the show and it worked well for that purpose. The wife did not like that there is a frosted window in the bathroom/bedroom wall. I did not like that the bathroom has a pocket door, which provides minimal privacy and makes a bunch of noise if you need to use it at night, waking up whoever is trying to sleep. How about a real door? My complaint about the room is that it was freezing cold when we arrived and we had to crank the heat to ridiculous levels to warm up the room. That worked eventually, but a hotel room should be a reasonable temperature when guests arrive. The hotel staff is nice and the lobby is nicely designed and decorated. However, the valet parking is somewhat lackluster. The valet handed me the keys in the morning and said "it's right there." For that I could have parked it myself.

Such a Great stay I'm born and raised in Milwaukee I've lived in phoenix area since 2007 so a little more than 14yrs so when the Bucks vs Suns I felt like I was double in the playoffs my son Christopher's words he he he.......... I just happened to be in Milwaukee when the game was going on in Phoenix but the fanfare and the intensity was bananas!!! The hotel staff was beyond accommodating and courteous!!! From the valet guys making sure my friend car stayed right up front per his request$ to the bartender making a special recipe for shots can't remember what she called it but after my friend brought several rounds for everyone we became pretty popular!!! Lol I must mention management also housekeeping all polite and accommodating it was great to be home and this experience exceeded my expectations, this was my first stay at this location I've stayed at ALoft in other Cities and Locations

Awesome view from our room of the Milwaukee River

My reservation stated 2 queen sized beds and they were clearly only full sized beds. I was denied a discount when I notified them of this.

They greeted me warmly, helped with my bags, and even brought them up to my room. Before my trip, I was honestly a little nervous because I'd heard so many stories about the hotel being haunted. Thankfully, I didn't experience anything unusual at all. It ended up being one of the best hotel stays I've had. I stayed on one of the upper floors, and the views were beautiful. Waking up to the sunrise and watching the sunset in the evening made the stay even more special. The staff checked in with me every day to make sure I had everything I needed and were always happy to offer recommendations. They even upgraded my room at no extra charge, which was such a thoughtful surprise. The rooms include complimentary coffee, tea, and bottled water, and I was impressed with how fast the elevators were. I never waited more than a couple of minutes. The location is another huge plus. It's right in the heart of downtown Milwaukee, and so many great restaurants, coffee shops, and attractions are within walking distance. If you don't have a car, it's incredibly easy to get around, and Uber rides are very affordable. One fun thing about staying here is that there's always a chance you'll run into someone well known. I was told that every U.S. president has stayed at the hotel, which adds to its rich history and charm. The people staying at the hotel were just as friendly as the staff, and I met so many wonderful people during my visit. If you stay here, make sure to go all the way to the top floor and check out Blu. The views alone are worth it. I truly loved my stay at The Pfister. If I'm back in Milwaukee, I would absolutely stay here again. Next time, I also want to treat myself to the spa and salon inside the hotel.

It was a great deal as we used the $250 Edit credit and $250 Chase hotels credit as it is an IHG hotel. The rest of the hotel price we used Chase points that we had saved up. The booking includes a $100 credit which we used for valet parking and a $30 per person credit for breakfast which we used for two days. I called in advance to ensure a hypoallergenic room due to my severe allergy to cats since it is a pet friendly hotel. On check in the staff recognized my IHG higher tier status and offered a welcome gift of 600 IHG points or a $10 bar credit - we chose the points. We also told staff we were there to celebrate our anniversary and they kindly gave us two drink coupons which we used one evening at the rooftop bar The Outsider. We loved our room on the 8th floor, we had a south facing view with view of the lake and bridge on the left and buildings of Milwaukee. The bed was comfortable for us - spring mattress but soft. The hotel is nicely decorated but the room was slightly worn down in some places and a bit dusty. Perhaps we were lucky when we went and either didn't have neighbors or had very quiet neighbors but our room was quiet. We didn't even hear anything from the rooftop bar but I believe our room was on a different side than where the bar is - the rooftop bar shows a North facing view. The brunch at Tre Rivali had large portions and all the food we got was delicious - hours were 8am-2pm for brunch. I reserved our brunch tables on OpenTable just to be safe but the inside dining area wasn't busy when we went between 8-9:30am both days - a lot of people ate outside. We used the valet parking which was easy to use via their app and we only called our car when checking out and it only took 5-10 minutes. Overnight valet parking is $48 plus $3.79 parking tax. I checked out in person instead of via the app to ensure the Chase credits were used. The location of the hotel was perfect for what we wanted to do - near the riverwalk, lakefront, and many restaurants. Highly recommend this hotel for a nice weekend getaway!

Our room was nice on a high floor with a decent view of the surrounding buildings. Everyone at wine-hour was friendly and seemed happy to see us. I enjoyed the wine...the snacks part may have been a little less in terms of offerings from what we experienced elsewhere, but halfway through my glass of wine I'm pretty sure I didn't care...it was a pre-dinner situation anyway.) YOU MAY NOT GET THE ROOM YOU PICKED OUT ON THE APP Be cautious that if you book a room on the app before arriving, they might try to put you in a different (worse/noisier) room when you get there, telling you the 'view' is better. This happened to us and I overheard it happening to someone else checking in. The room they chose to put us in was facing the street and extremely noisy. (Not worth the so called 'view'). After unpacking and getting ready for bed and trying to bear it, we decided to ask to switch rooms (to the room we'd originally booked on the app!) We packed up and moved to a room facing the alley, although it still had *some* street noise, it was much better. I think they try to put you in the 'unsellable' rooms in hopes that you'll stick with it. We still had to wear ear plugs and run the A/C at night to drown out some street noise. You might argue that any downtown hotel would have have street noise, but I don't think this older hotel has very good insulation. Read on for the PROS AND CONS... PROS ~Friendly, accommodating staff, really can't fault them. Kathy in the breakfast room is especially friendly. ~Decent location, walkable to the airport bus stop, Avis, Harley Davidson Museum, River Walk, Pabst Mansion. Most attractions were a 15-20 minute walk. For sights further by the lake (i.e. Milwaukee Art Museum), we took a ride share. It would have been more convenient to be closer to the waterfront, but this is reflected in the price. (Which I thought was still expensive!) ~They gave us some drink vouchers to use in the bar as we were celebrating an occasion. That was a nice touch and we enjoyed the atmosphere in the bar and the friendly bar tender. ~Clean. ~Daily housekeeping service. ~We paid for the breakfast buffet as part of our tariff, which was in a dining room with a buffet all but one day (a Monday) when they had us pick off the menu as there weren't enough people to warrant a buffet. Despite the buffet, waitstaff serve your drinks, so factor tip into the price. Try to get a table with Kathy serving you. ~Standard room amenities like iron/board, safe, decent shower, pump toiletries, large TV, mini fridge. ~Three elevators that always came quickly. CONS ~Noisy, especially if your room faces the main road. A lot of noisy motorbikes, sirens, people blaring music. The hotel can't help this, but it didn't seem like the windows were insulated very well, perhaps due to the fact it's an older hotel that's been renovated. I would not recommend staying here on this factor alone. ~Small bathroom. We like to both be in the bathroom getting ready in the morning -- one shaving while the other is putting on make-up, etc. The bathroom was definitely tight. ~When we checked into the first room they put us in (we later switched rooms), the A/C was soooo cold. We couldn't adjust it, so they sent a technician out to fix it. ~When we switched to a different room, the TV didn't work, so a technician was sent out to fix it the next day. ~Older hotel that's been renovated -- you can tell by the popcorn ceilings. ~No pool. ~Still quite expensive for the location/noisy rooms. ~Breakfast is not completely self serve, so tipping is expected. (They take you to a table, take your drink order and serve your drinks). ~Decor has been updated at some point, but is still a little dated. Helpful?

While the room was okay for the most part, there was a persistent vomit-like odor near the bed that wasn't resolved despite my request for cleaning. As a result, I had to sleep on the couch on the opposite side of the room and my work schedule made it inconvenient to request a new one. The bathroom was missing some basic amenities such as a soap dish, so I had to leave the bar soap on the counter. The shower's strong water pressure was really nice compared to the flow-restricted showers commonly found in California hotels. The staff experience was mixed. The night reception gentleman (working Monday through Thursday) provided outstanding customer service for his consistently warm and energetic greetings every time I passed. The night valet Martin also deserves special recognition for his outstanding service, sprinting to retrieve my car and showing remarkable attention to detail by noticing my night work schedule and trying to proactively have my car ready. However, the daytime valet service was disappointing. Two valets would unnecessarily retrieve my car together (Maybe one was shadowing the other). During these retrievals, one valet would sit on my belongings in the passenger seat (this happened multiple days). I later discovered after leaving Milwaukee that she damaged my glasses. Given the short distance to the garage, this practice seems unnecessary and showed a lack of respect for guest property. If they noticed stuff on the seat, they could've just walked back. For future improvement, I would suggest better attention to guests' personal belongings and a review of valet procedures.

I wish there were more surfaces in our hotel for storing my toiletries in the bathroom, a place to set things in the room (aside from the floor), a desk. This may be unique to our room, all the rooms at the hotel are different. Not an inconvenience, more a note to ownership for an easy usability upgrade. We had an issue with our automatic lock keypad at midnight after walking home from the festival. We texted the number and someone responded right away. There is not a front desk here so quick response to offsite staff is critical. The hotel contact was friendly and drove to us in 15 minutes to resolve the issue. Tips if you stay here - a) get pre-reservations at Agency cocktail bar set inside the hotel if you're into libations (including non alcoholic). It's a small space and super fun time, they book up quickly! b) when they offer you a dedicated parking space right outside the hotel for an additional fee, take it. I still had no credit, having checked my credit card daily. Finally, almost a month goes by and I email the owner and say, I never got the credit. He said he didn't have time for this and they would void the credit card "credit" and mail me a check. It's been weeks and still no check.
