I was very pleased to stay at this Holiday Inn in Delafield. My husband and I were in the area for an after-holidays party and didn't want to drive home, (about 1 1/2 hrs) so we booked a hotel in the area. It's a new, very clean, bright hotel, in a very convenient area for shopping as well. They also offer a free complete breakfast in the morning! We decided to try the included breakfast and we were really pleased how the items were being continuously filled with piping hot food. It was quite tasty and the entire area was always being attended to and kept immaculately clean! We will definitely be booking this hotel again when the opportunity arises for an overnight stay in this area! read more

I really thought with the decent ratings and a note months ahead of my stay that I needed a quiet room that my stay would have been better, but I cannot downplay how incredibly LOUD the highway noise is. And the walls are paper thin. You can and will hear everything if someone is next to or below/above you. But let's get to some positives before a list of the negatives in addition to the noise. Pros: - Friendly front desk service - Extensive free breakfast buffet that is clean, organized and refilled often. I loved the egg white and veggie omelets - Convenient location close to shops and the highway - Very clean hotel overall Cons: - I have to mention it again - the highway noise is incredibly loud at least if your room facies that direction. I can't imagine it's that much better if you're facing Golf Rd. - Bathroom ceiling lights stays on 24/7 "for safety" - the hallway lights are also bright, so I basically had to close my bathroom door and line the cracks beneath with towels to make the room dark enough. - Thin walls (you'll hear anyone moving around next to or above/below) - Limited TV with basic live cable, many stations are sports or news (no smart/streaming and few movie channels) - WiFi gets slow at peak hours (after check-in/early evening) - Deer are everywhere, so be careful driving at dawn/dusk (unrelated to this hotel, just warning you) - For the price, you'll have a MUCH better experience at the Delafield Hotel one exit down... it's about $50 more but SO worth it. Huge, modern, fancy and in the cute downtown area with beautiful walking trails and local gems like the Lumber Inn. In summary: this hotel should charge about 25% less and light sleepers should still go elsewhere. The La Quinta is comparable up the hill BTW. read more

I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express during my stay in Delafield. The property was recently refreshed and the rooms were clean and modern. HI Express offers a free breakfast and they offered premium products such as Chobani yogurt. I arrived a few hours ahead of the 3pm check-in and they still provided me a room. I'm only giving 3 stars for a simple but important reason: they aren't providing daily housekeeping and are dishonestly blaming it on COVID. This property - like almost everywhere in ruby red Waukesha County - isn't following any COVID guidelines. None of the staff are masked and a full buffet breakfast are on offer. Fine - as presumably everyone is vaccinated. But they aren't cleaning rooms in the name of COVID (though, of course, they are charging top dollar). That's simply unacceptable. Of course, guests who don't want their rooms cleaned should have the option, but it's no fun when you're staying in a hotel for 3 nights with no option to take out the trash or get clean towels. You come back to a dirty room and it just takes the fun out of travel. Out of principle, I won't be giving a property more than 3 stars if they don't do housekeeping, no matter how good the rest of the hotel is. read more

This place is fine. It was clean enough. The rooms are super basic. The whole facility is very bare bones - essentials only. It kind of screams bargain. The service was okay - I arrived late in the evening and the desk clerk couldn't find my correct paperwork for payment. He kept looking after I'd surrendered my credit card information and he did call back when he found the pre-pay 3rd party information. I appreciate the persistence. Stayed here for a weekend wedding what a pleasant surprise! Updated room looked brand new. Bathroom was great, had modern backlight mirror. Complimentary breakfast was nice with a variety of eggs, sausages, French toast and many other items. The workout room was also open as was the pool. We used neither. I would stay here again. This hotel had become our go to place to stay when in the Lake Country area. This was probably our longest stay at 9 nights and out 5th stay over the past 9 months. The front desk personnel are outstanding; always going out of their way to know you by name and engage with you about family, reason for stay and anything they can do to make your stay more pleasant. Housekeeping is pleasant, but do not clean everyday (unless you request service, due to the past pandemic. There are hand sanitizing units on the walls and in the elevators spread throughout the property. The beds are firm, comfortable and the air conditioners and heat work properly all the time. The full service breakfast is hot and not limited to things you pick up in a bag or heat in them microwave. From eggs, omelettes, bacon, turkey sausage, regular sausage and Canadian bacon, biscuits and gravy, fruit, oatmeal (microwaveable), and hot freshly baked cinnamon rolls. This hotel is located conveniently within walking distance of shopping, retail, grocery and numerous eateries. We highly recommend Holiday Innn Express & Suites Delafield. read more

Price gouging should be illegal. The internet says the average price here is just over $100 you come on a Saturday with an open room expect to pay $250 or more. Amenities are average to below average at best. read more

The hotel is worth 4-stars in quality. Our room was spacious, moderately quiet, good mattress. Breakfast is included (unlike more and more Holiday Inns) and is very good. There is no bar or additional meals available onsite, but there is one across the parking lot. Big disappointment was the absence of the listed pool and spa!!! It was being redone. You could go to the next-door hotel, but who wants to do that, especially in 50 degree weather. So, when the pool & spa return, it's a complete winner. read more

My experience at the Delafield Holiday Inn Express was so bad I think it gave me cancer. Seriously: the bathroom had no exhaust fan; the TV was broken; the hotel staff took the luggage carts into the employee only area so that guests couldn't use them; maid service" didn't clean, or replace my towels, and actually left my room door propped-open for a whole day while I was gone; my "late check-out" earned my THREE knocks on my door (starting before even regular check-out) and surprised responses by the various staff members of "you're still here?", and; when I complained to the management about all of this I was told the manager would call me when she got in (she didn't) and was offered a ten percent discount on my stay (I would so rather pay 100% for none of this crap than 90% for all of it). It is impossible for my to recommend a hotel less. Do yourself a favor and don't stay here. Opt for a more pleasant experience, say, by spending your nights in a knife-addled-rape-shed off the 294. Beautiful, modern rooms. Friendliest staff I have ever dealt with. I'm a pillow person and I have to say these were the best and such comfortable beds. A friend stayed here on a business training trip, booked by his company. Friend smokes, but is respectful and was smoking outside and then throwing the butts away in trash can in room. Hotel wrote him a note about smoking in room (after nosy maid saw butts in trash and made assumption), he went to front desk to rectify situation. He explained he was smoking outside, and not littering. After front desk snottiness, friend decided to throw butts outside to avoid confrontation. 2 weeks after stay, got a $150.00 fine for smoking in room, charged to the company's credit card. I worked in the hospitality industry and this is unacceptable. I hate it when billing thinks it's OK to just charge a credit card because it's "on file". Friend is fighting this currently, will revise upon update... **update 3/2/11 Hotel is standing by the $150 charge and is not allowing a credit or chargeback to be issued. States guest signed folio and agreed not to smoke in room or public areas of the hotel. Butts in the room, even in trash, constitute "proof" I suppose. BE WARY OF WHAT YOU SIGN...READ IT!! read more

The good: Very clean hotel with very friendly staff who goes the extra mile to assist guests. Breakfast was just fine--hot and plentiful. Pool area was fine. There are both "soft" and "firm" pillows on the bed. Cookies in the lobby. The bad: annoyingly slow internet--even at 4 in the morning. That's why I took one star off. My experience here must have been an exception to the rule or I just have a proclivity to look towards the more positive aspects. Except for the wifi not working, the hotel met expectations and exceeded the standard set by the previous reviews. Service was kindly and attentive, the hotel did not seem overly worn for its age, and cleanliness was an 8 out of 10. The continental breakfast was mediocre, but expected. It's the epitome of continental breakfasts...biscuits and gravy (decent), scrambled eggs (not terrible), fruit, yogurt, pancakes (unusual), juice and coffee. The pool was a perfect 80 or so for me, the hot tub about 102.5 and both were clean. Price was the only thing that really should be adjusted; $129 for a random Monday night. However, this is comparable to other hotels in the area. Overall a 7 of 10, good experience for this kind of hotel. read more

I was very impressed with the staff! Stayed 3 nights with my sisters for vacation in the area. Check in staff were very helpful especially Karen! Bridgett works the morning continental breakfast,. She checked to see if we needed anything else, made sure plenty of food was out. Great conversations with her also!Nice variety pancakes,sausages,,eggs, yogurt, cereal fruit . Even Miguel the grounds keeper took some time out to visit with us. The rooms were clean. We didn't use the pool, but it looked very clean & inviting. Exercise room is small & equipment needs some attention, but we weren't there to exercise! LOL!! If we are in the area, we will definatly stay here again. Very impressed! We spent just one night here and had to leave early in the morning, but it was a great place. The rooms were large, the breakfast spread was extraordinary (seriously...they had BACON! In two weeks of staying in hotels, I never saw bacon!), and it was clean. Compared to places around Yellowstone, this place was swanky. I stayed here for a wedding this past weekend in a two queen suite. The staff at this hotel were very friendly and helpful. I even made a special request from the manager who was very helpful and understanding. The room was very pricey for how small it was. Defiantly do not expect a huge room when booking a suite here. The room had two normal queen size beds and then a love seat off to the side. For the price of this room, I expected more. Also in the hallway outside our room there was furniture laying the ground wrapped in plastic which was blocking the hallway. Not sure why they couldn't find somewhere else for storage. Breakfast in the morning was your average continental breakfast. However everything seem to remain empty. The person that was on staff for the breakfast would only put a small amount of food out at once, which made everything seem empty and old. Overall it was a very nice hotel but it seemed way too expensive for what you got. read more

Our son is a cadet at St. John's Northwestern Military Academy, and we were so happy to have found this wonderful hotel. Rebecca was so friendly and literally welcomed us like we were family on check-in, and accommodated all our requests. The rooms are large and very clean, and the bed was soft and so comfortable. Definitely kid-friendly, and so close to the cycling paths as well as restaurants and stores. But, no doubt we're going back because of the staff who made us feel at home. We'll be back! read more
