Can't thank these guys enough to doing what they did. On the coldest night Minnesota has seen in 30 years, our furnace decided to quit working. We frantically started called around. We called 5 or 6 other places that were extremely busy because everyone had the same issue - the need for heat. They said they had 24 hour technicians and on one of the busiest nights, Dan showed up 45 minutes later at 10:30/11PM at night to look at our furnace. After spending an hour in our basement trying to figure out what the issue was the problem was diagnosed. Although the part wasn't available, they were able to get it for us the next morning. He gave us a temporary fix (so our house/pipes) wouldn't freeze and said they would be in contact with us the next morning. Cut to the next morning - 8:30/9 o'clock AM we received an update on the part and what things were looking like. By 11 o'clock, Ryan was out here fixing the part. He ran multiple cycles, made sure things were going to continue to work and everyone was super professional about all of it. The whole experience was about $1,000. I know, that's quite expensive but in the long scheme of things, it saved our furnace and we didn't have to spend $5,000 plus to buy a new one. Plus, we found out that by signing up for their Club we get a spring/fall maintenance check on our AC and furnace as part of that price $1,000 price. Was very pleased last week when I got prompt service from Shane and later in the week from Joe. Had what I thought was a problem with the hot water heater and Shane replaced a part which was worn out --- -and explained everything thoroughly. Joe came out two days later as I still had a concern about the color of the hot water - - -- and he eased my mind that nothing was wrong -- -it was probably from the construction in the area that affected the color of the hot water. Gradually got better with time. Joe actually did a "no charge" call as there was nothing wrong. He spent time explaining to me what it probably was and verified that there was nothing wrong with the hot water heater or pipes. So very much appreciated what he did !!!! Both were very professional, on time, courteous and explained everything thoroughly. Paul Nelson services the a.c. and the furnace twice a year and is very kind, courteous, professional and knowledgeable. I know I can always count on Paul for an honest opinion on these things that I know not much about and therefore rely on him. He has been doing this for years for me and it is wonderful to have people like Paul, Shane and Joe to count on. I had ordered a microwave and stove through Home Depot. Delivery guys were nice, installed the microwave no prob. However the stove they said they couldn't do. Had to call their plumber. 4 hours later their plumber showed up, spent 5 minutes in my home to tell me I have to call somebody cause he can't do it. You can't do your job... ok... company you can direct me to since it's dealing with gas to a stove? I spent an hour on the phone and found Krinkies. Shane and Andy came out within a couple hours, fixed the issue with the gas line that the dumb plumber should have since he was paid to do it already, then they hooked up my stove, not something they had to do, I was paying them for the gas line, they moved it into place, and took my old stove out by hand and put it in the back of their truck. I'll be calling them always. Home Depot charged me 320.77 for install, install kit, and haul away. Krinkies charged me 189 and did the same thing better and faster. Krinkies was very pleasant, easy and fast, and had excellent customer service when scheduling my appointment. They were flexible in scheduling my visit in order to fit my schedule and were able to work in an appointment the same day I called, compared to waiting on the phone and having to wait days or weeks for a technician to come out from several other places i called. Mike B. was the technician that was on-site to diagnose and fix my AC unit and he was incredible to work with. Very knowledgeable and extremely professional. He walked me through everything he was doing, answered all of my questions thoroughly and was very upfront and honest about everything. The work he did was outstanding and he went above and beyond in being transparent about the existing and potential repairs and issues with my old unit and helping me with recommendations for later on down the road. I usually hate leaving reviews for people who do work for me because everyone can see how awesome they are and then they won't have time for me anymore. But the crew at Krinkie's asked me to (more than once), so I decided to help them out. As a professional property manager, it is important to have contractors who understand that timeliness and friendly service are extremely important characteristics when it comes to repairs for your tenants. I've had them install new boilers in 2 or 3 days from the first call and keep the house warm with space heaters while they waited. I've had them show up on the same day that I called them just to help fix something that broke. Even better? I've had them tell me that something I asked them to fix wasn't going to be worth the money. The broken part was just a symptom of a bigger problem. Finding a licensed installer for City of Minneapolis that can do all three: plumbing, furnace and boiler is challenging. Finding somebody to leave you satisfied is almost impossible. Recently had Krinkie's install a water heater, a Bosch boiler/water heater combi and a Daikan furnace (it's a duplex). Joe D perfectly spec'd the removal and installs. He is a master in all respects. The removal included an asbestos covered 112 year old boiler and 77 year old furnace. Krinkie's slid the replacements into place making the old ductwork and pipes look like they had been placed ages ago, just to host the new equipment. The installers were very good, but Joe is the glue that holds it together. From initial meeting to finished install was 1 week. With rental properties, I've had more opportunities to install new equipment than a typical homeowner. Krinkie's is the best experience I've had, by far. read more

I've known Krinkie's since high school. My family has used them for years. My dad (turning 100 in Sept.) still remembers Paul Nelson by name and always recommends him. Yesterday, with over 100 heat index, a mouse decided to chew through our AC wires. Fortunately, they were able to come out today, fixed it, cleaned it up, lubed, checked it over and the ten-year-old TRANE is working better than ever. This is a company you can trust. I was unlucky enough to have my furnace go out this past December. Krinkie's was very responsive and set up an appointment quickly. Joe came out and took a look at my furnace and gave me a very clear picture of what the problem was and what would need to be fixed. He went over a couple different options. I then was able to set up with the office to get the new furnace ordered and a date for install. Install went well and it was great to have my heat back! Everyone was prompt and took care of my space while being efficient to get the install done on time. I just had my 6 month follow up to make sure everything was working well. This company is the real deal. All employees were knowledgeable and adept at their work with high quality materials (use brands recommended by consumer report and other HVAC pros online). It was our first experience with this company and should we need HVAC work again, it will be the one we call. They had an On-Call Technician (24/7) that responded to our evening emergency need for heat (furnace died in January). After a diagnosis (furnace died due to cracked heat exchanger), K supplied us with portable heaters, and gave us quick service the following days to get a new furnace. Although I had a specific situation today that inspired me to make a recommendation, our family have used them for years. Everyone at Krinkie's was helpful and friendly! Dan came over quickly and with in a hour figured out my furnace problem! He explained each test he preformed and part he looked at on my furnace. He even apologized for all I had been through with Ryan's Plumbing & Heating (awful company!!) to fix it. Dan was super knowledgeable and competent in his work! We've been using Krinkie's scheduled maintenance service (aka Comfort club) for 2 years. They've kept our 25+ yr old AC running as well as our 18 yr old furnace, which is what we had expected. They also noted that our water heater was beginning to rust; and cautioned that it might need a replacement, and even provided an estimate for a replacement. I contacted a plumbing service for a 2nd opinion, and for the same water heater, Krinkie's estimate was $300 less. When it came to renew our service with the Comfort Club, it took my wife and I less than 10 seconds to decide to renew. We are totally happy with their service. read more

We have signed up for the yearly plan that includes a furnace tune up and an AC tune up once a year. Mike Hahn from Krinkies is here now for our furnace tune up on a -3 degree day and identified a leak from our humidifier on our 20 year old furnace that is still plugging away. He found the problem, called in and asked for the part and waited at our house til the owner himself dropped off the part and is now fixing it. Mike is super kind and knowledgeable, patient and explains everything thoroughly. Super service and very professional- and reasonable cost. I had them over to try to repair my ancient AC, they were affordable and were able to get it working again briefly before it fried out forever. I then had a sales rep come discuss options for a new AC and it was very informative, learned a lot and confirmed a few things I had suspected of other companies trying to over sell me. I got a great deal from Krinkies on a new AC and some minor fixes on my furnace. The installers were great, very professional and I came in under budget on the project. Not sure why Yelp is recommending reviews from out of Krinkie's service area? We needed to update our AC and furnace, and wanted to go with a heat pump. Everything we read said that the quality of the installation was as critical as the equipment. Had three estimates, felt Krinkie's was most knowledgeable and thorough, and they did a great job! We had a small problem the next day (our fault, not theirs) and they fixed it quickly. Rebate was processed and they gave us everything needed for our taxes. Krinkie's showed up when they said (same day). Joe was friendly and quickly determined my issue was a capacitor, had the part, installed it, and helped with some ducting questions. Joe also alerted me to a coupon that saved my trip charge! Could not ask for more on this regard. I guess the cost for replacing it was in line with competition. They seem to have fixed rates for most repairs, referred as "levels", so call and ask if you are unsure. Will call again for next service. read more
