I've had Comfort Shoes repair both a pair of shoes and a purse for me - very good service both times. No - they're not necessary cheap but you get what you pay for. In my case, I had a pair of shoes that I loved but needed the soles replaced. They did that and cleaned up my shoes so my favorite shoes that I'd had for years looked brand new. I could have spent twice as much for a new pair of shoes that I may have liked as much but was happy with this experience & the decision. Same with a purse strap that I had replaced. Highly recommend for repairs, plus they carry a wide selection of high-quality, good-for-your-feet shoes. If you've never sprung for a really good pair of shoes, they are so worth it!!! read more

I took my vintage Coach purse to this store months ago for some strap repair, but never heard from them. I've tried calling, but all I get is a busy signal. So I've tried stopping by; but they are never open, even during their posted business hours! Now, there's a sign on the door that says another company is handling their repairs, so I called them. Comfort Shoes on Connecticut Ave in Washington DC not only sells great shoes -- it has amazing customer service. I have bad bunions on both feet so it is really important that my shoes do not press against the bunions. I bought a pair of black shoes at Comfort that I thought would work -- they felt fine when I walked around the store. But after I took them home and wore them for a day, they began hurting right around the bunion. Brad, the manager actually allowed me to return the shoes I had already worn, and gave me a store credit. I could not believe it! I used the credit to buy a pair of sandals and then a few months later, another pair of black shoes. Yvonne knew just which shoes to sell me-- she is an expert on bunions. I can't put into words how awesome this place is!!! The owner is friendly, helpful, and the best cobbler we have found in the area. We found him by accident, as his location isn't very visible from the street. This week he fixed my Louboutin booties, re soled 2 pair of Asolo boots, and cleaned a pair of Lucchese suede boots that had an ink stain on them. Everything looks brand new! It always makes me nervous taking expensive shoes to a new place, but I am happy that I gave him a try. We will definitely be back! .... As you can see, the Asolo boots are old, and they have been around the world a few times. The heal was worn unevenly. He was able to build it up and even then back out. read more

Apparently they are undergoing renovations and have very little stock. We tried and tried to call to ask a question before we left Arvada to drive there, but the phone line was constantly busy. So we drove all the way from Arvada to Centennial just to walk into a store that seemed more like a rather empty storage space. I gave it 2 stars because the man working there was nice. read more

Comfort Shoes repaired an ICON brand handbag. It is a special little bag with a complicated construction; making the repair complicated too. To look at it now you would never know. Multiple leathers were ordered and considered to find the perfect piece [color, texture, weight]. Only an Artisan would go to such lengths -- knowing there's no such thing as a near miss. I love this store! I live in Albuquerque but I go to this store when ever I'm in Denver. They have great shoe selection and the shoes are so comfortable. I bought a pair of pikolino boots and I love them. I decided I wanted to wear them dancing so I needed leather soles put on them. First I took them to a shoe repair in Albuquerque and the new leather soles started lifting after a couple of wearings. I took them to Comfort Shoes in Denver and had them resoled with leather and he even put leather on the heels. He did a beautiful job. And including shipping it took less than a week. Reason for rating = 5 for the shoe repair (new heels+half leather soles) + 1 for customer service (dropped to a 2 for level of customer service). I don't generally write reviews but need to provide a review to help other customers avoid the same situation and treatment I received from the owner(?) and the cobbler at Comfort Shoes (CS). I took a pair of shoes to CS to have them look at the shoes and see what they would charge for heels and leather half soles. The employe quoted $66 and I left the shoes to be repaired (I received a claim check but the price quote wasn't written on the claim check - my mistake for not requesting the quote written on the claim check). I went to pick up the shoes a week later and the owner(?) and he indicated the price was $75. I told him the price I had been quoted and he said it was wrong and he would get the cobbler to discuss the price with me. The cobbler said the price should be $85 and not $75. I said if that was the price quoted to me, I would not have had them do the repairs. The cobbler then got irritated that I was irritated with the price variance and for some reason (I can only assume he felt I was trying to rip him off), he showed me a scar on his hand from what he insinuated was some sort of torture burn from sometime in his past. The owner(?) then insinuated that I was lying about my $66 quote for the repairs as the employee that provided the quote has worked there for 15 years so I must have heard her wrong. I told him it pissed me off that he was calling me a liar and he said he was pissed for having to deal with me. All the time I was communicating with the owner(?), the cobbler was glaring at me with a look that was attempting to intimidate me. At no point did I attempt to "get away" with anything, I just wanted to pay what I had been quoted. I ultimately paid the $75 for the repairs because the owner(?) was not going to honor the quote provided by one of his employees. So long story short, if you have repair work done by CS, make sure to have the quote written on your claim check and initialed by the employee providing the quote. read more
