The general manager was great. Cared about his surgery and that we were comfortable. We even added a night. Easy to have our dog there. Very clean. So this iant as nice as a lot of the other Comfort Inn/Suites we have stayed at. It seemed like an older hotel that may have tried to turn into a Comfort Inn Suites? However, our rooms were very clean and beds were comfy. The rooms are spacious and the breakfast room was decent. The staff was very friendly and accommodating! Toilet didn't work. When front desk wanted to put us in a different room, management told them that they could not and that they would come in and personally fix the toilet (I had already borrowed the plunger, and the plug was not moving and the toilet was near overflowing) IN AN HOUR. Roaches spotted, musty rooms, the AC's smell after a while, popcorn ceilings, old dirty scratched up furniture and thin walls/ceilings along with inconsiderate tenants who loudly bang and stomp at all hours. I want to give this hotel 0 stars. We booked through hotels.com and reserved a king suite. When we got into our room we had 2 queen sized beds. We went up to the front desk and talked to Debbie (who was on her personal phone and waited much too long to even acknowledge us and then stayed on the phone, talking while she was trying to deal with our situation and was very rude to us, which is completely unprofessional) and she said that because we booked through Hotels.com it came to them as a 2 queen beds reservation and could do nothing about our room being wrong because they were sold out because of the PGA golf tournament they somehow only found out about the day it started. We called hotels.com customer service and they said it showed a king on their end as well, so we already started getting bad vibes from that point. The first day when we used the bathroom we noticed the toilet didn't flush well, but we didn't think much about it as we were getting ready to leave to do other things. The next morning, the toilet still wasn't flushing so we called the front desk around 7 A.M. and asked if we could have someone look at it while we were gone most of the day and they said maintenance would look at it. We left with toilet paper in the toilet and came back to the hotel around 4:30 P.M. and the toilet paper was still there so obviously nobody came in to look at it. ((On top of this my fiancé took a shower before we left that morning as well and the large amount of standing water had not drained by the time we got back so he had to wedge a shampoo bottle into the drain to get it to stay open enough for the water to drain)). I went up to the front desk when we got back and told them we asked for maintenance to fix our toilet and he said they didn't have a maintenance man. He called his manager Debbie who said the maintenance did come look at it when they obviously had not, and her solution was to give us a plunger even though we knew the toilet was not clogged, it was just not flushing properly. They gave us the most dingy plunger that did absolutely nothing. We went back up and told them it didn't work and their next solution was for us to just use their "public" bathrooms. So we were left to either plunge the toilet every time we used it or use a public bathroom. We were extremely upset and wanted some sort of reparation, but we were told to talk to Debbie the next morning "when she gets in at 7, but is sometimes late", and with our previous encounter with Debbie blaming everything on hotels.com we knew she would give us the run around and were planning to be gone before 7 that morning anyways. The amount of stress and extra work we had to do over our 3 night stay that was supposed to be a fun long weekend vacation was absolutely not worth any amount of money. The front desk staff that tried to help us seemed nice and were trying to solve our issues, but because it was fully booked they couldn't do anything but direct us to Debbie who was not helpful or kind. Looking at other reviews this doesn't seem to be the first time people have had issues with Debbie or the first time someone has had toilet issues so it is an ongoing problem that they don't want to fix. read more

Whoever is the guy with long-ish blonde hair working the front desk tonight who says "that's not my problem" should maybe find a job that isn't in the service industry. For the price, you should go elsewhere. I've stayed in many comfort suites across the US and most are really nice and newer, but this one has to be the oldest one ever built. The mattresses were old and uncomfortable, not the same quality at most of the other comfort suites I've visited. Upon checking in, it took about 15 mins for anyone to come to FD after calling the operator on the phone provided. Carpets and interior screams 1991 View from room they gave me is of the next door hotel's dumpster area. Tiny mirror in room, made with an oak border, that doesn't match the theme of the room. Tiny TV in room. Crusty brown couch that just looks old (from the 1980s) and uncomfortable. Hallways are dirty and need vacuuming. read more

Yuck. Dirty. Popcorn ceiling & mismatched carpet. Location is great, right off the interstate near shopping & restaurants! This is an older hotel with a small lobby. The hallway carpets have been updated, as well as features in the room...but the rooms are small and old. Room & stairwell carpets are older. Doors are old. Rooms are small. There were stains all over the wall...like soda....but at eye level....? Stains all over the bedskirt. Yuck. I honestly feel dirty for staying here...canceled my remaining nights. first of all it smelled. The guy made us sign a paper at check in that we agreed no housekeeping because they do not work on weekends. Funny next day I saw housekeeping. We were told we can only ask for towels at the front desk. The room was ok but it had a smell. Second the pool. How in the hell they permit kids throwing chairs in the pool. I was in the pool with my grandson and they had parents permitting kids throw chairs in the pool. Not once did anyone check the pool area. Other than that no complaints. The staff is generally friendly and accommodating but there seems be some serious issues with their organization. First, when my mother and grandmother checked in they forgot to put it in their system. So when I showed up asking what room they were in (because my family was asleep and not answering their phone) the staff had no idea. Then, it turns out that our rates were increased because they booked a second room for us for some reason when we only booked one. And then, the manager walked into our room one morning telling us we needed to move all our stuff out for their annual carpet cleaning while my mother and grandmother were so sick they could barely get out of bed. He then continued to stand in our room and argue with us and calling us unreasonable before begrudgingly agreeing to delay the cleaning for one day. He then seemed happy that we said we would just leave early and go to another hotel, which we did. We were never notified about the cleaning before the manager walked into our room that morning. read more

I noticed a lot of negative reviews for this hotel only AFTER I stayed here, so I feel it might be my duty to give an update. Whatever problems were noted by the previous reviewers seem to have been completely eradicated. EVERYTHING in this hotel was brand new, the place was clean and the staff responsive and professional. Perhaps they've had a remodeling? In any case, these guys saved my sanity after a nine hour stretch of driving out of Kansas. They were the only affordable hotel in the Denver area with any rooms available, and that bed was very welcome sight. I'd like to give a particular shout-out to Molly, the very nice lady working the front desk. She was very helpful, and even caught the Star Trek reference on my shirt. This place is OK. It's not a bad hotel for Castle Rock.. It's close to the outlets and right off of I-25. The staff was a little unprofessional looking at the front desk. The rooms were nice, decent but nothing special. The set up if this hotel is kind of awkward and dark, I felt like I was in one of those movies where a serial killer is right around the corner. Average travel hotel. Seems like it's about due for an update but it was clean and maintained. I was concerned about the noise due to the location near I 25 but it was pretty quiet. Absolutely DO NOT stay here. I actually can not believe what my family was just put through. They day we arrived the elevator button was very obviously out of place and did not work properly you had to push down fairly hard to get it to light up and signal the elevator. The second night of our stay my dad was unfortunately the one trying to use the elevator when the button finally gave up and actually fell out of the wall as it was not securely in place to begin with. The hotel blamed him for breaking it by accusing him of "smashing it in" and said we were going to be charged for the repairs. In the surveillance video you can see him standing by the elevator having to press the button multiple times because once again it didn't work and then the final time he raises his arm to press it has his arm up for a second before having to make a sudden movement in what appears to be and what he said was him trying to grab it before it fell to the ground. This is the point in the video where they tried to say he "smashed it in." To add on to it they said earlier that day they had video of my trying to "push the elevator door open" when in reality I had put my hands against the wall next to the elevator and leaned over to stretch out my shoulders. When I explained that to the lady she was very snippy and dismissive "yeah okay I'm sure." She was extremely snippy, unprofessional and rude to begin with and honestly downright delusional looking for any excuse to pin the blame on someone else when in reality it was negligence on the hotels part to maintain the hotel/elevator. Another "employee" just sitting in the lobby area kept chiming in as well saying "well if it didn't work why did he keep pushing it?" Umm because this is an establishment where your equipment should be maintained and work properly, why did he HAVE to keep pushing the button, why didn't it work? Shoddy business run by shoddy people. Go 15 minutes up the road and stay at the courtyard by Marriott nicer hotel with professional staff and a better price! read more

One star may be pushing it! So many things have been bad that Its hard to believe and the new standard Front Desk response has been that a housekeeper is out sick and another is off having a baby. I get it but this is a customer service business so get extra help! I asked to speak to the Mgr. and the FD gave me his card and told me to call him, but he was off Friday! I don't have enough time to list all our issues but the fact that they forgot to clean our room 2 out of 6 days says something isn't right here. We checked in to this hotel. The desk clerk, Shay, was on her cell phone the entire time we were being checked in. After we got to the room and got our luggage settled, we realized that there was no bedding to put on the pull-out couch. We tried calling the desk for 10 minutes. No answer. I went downstairs to ask for bedding. No one was at the desk. Waited... waited. Another guest was in the lobby with his 4 children when I went down and he said he had been waiting about 20 minutes to check in and there had been no one at the desk. Shay finally came around the corner and swore she had only been away 10 minutes... even so...why is she not at the desk at in the first place? I told her to help the guy check in first. Instead, she went back to get bedding and handed it to me. I asked about a pillow. I was told they 'don't have any extras'. Seriously? No pillows at a hotel?? Got back upstairs to make up the pull out. One twin sheet and a light blanket is what I had. I like a sheet under and over... you know... like how normal people make a bed. My friend called down to the desk and it was actually answered this time. Shay said it was hotel policy to only give one sheet. (What??!!) But she could let us have one if we came back down and picked it up. My other friend went down to retrieve the sheet. She was spoken to rudely. By the way, the sheets are flat twins... barely cover the mattress. And I am having to steal pillows from my roommates. Ridiculous. I would never stay at this hotel again as long as this unprofessional young lady works there. I have never had a worse experience at a Choice Hotel. I travel fairly frequently and stay with the Choice brand often. I am extremely disappointed by the lack of basic customer service here. Beyond the horrible desk clerk, the hotel seems clean. It is near the outlet malls if you are coming in to shop there. There's a breakfast in the morning. There is a pool. My advice...If you walk in and Shay is behind the counter...walk back out and check in to the Holiday Inn Express down the street. read more

Wouldn't recommend this to anyone travelling through. We tried to book several rooms for guests over a weekend event and the manager was very rude. Acted very important but did nothing to increase our desire to stay there. He was more worried about us knowing he was management than building us as customers. Claimed to be Pet Friendly on the phone but they were anything but. Charged a fee and treated our out of town guests like second class citizens. DEAD MOUSE found in corner of room. Two adjoining rooms with 3 sleeping kids and moved them to last adjoining room set after waking them at 9:30pm. New rooms had pukey smell and stain behind headboard. The owner had no apology and offered one room for one night free. Corporate owner Choice Hotels thought that was adequate too. Turns out somebody steals in this hotel. I stayed there from 01/01/2018- 01/02/2018. I was unfortunately rushed to the hospital at midnight that night and left all my belongings in the room. Unfortunately I'm Admitted in the hospital still and my boyfriend went back before check out to grab all of our belongings and turns out things are gone. My makeup bag with at least $700 worth of makeup GONE! My sons beloved toy cars are GONE! I will be filing a police report. Sorry I've been admitted in the hospital and been completely robbed. I won't stop until this gets solved. I called and the man that answers the phone says "No the housekeeper would never steal they would even bring down white tightys from the rooms." Wtf? Underwear isn't worth $700 so I'm sure they would bring them down. So mad and completely taken advantage of! I want mine and my sons stuff back or somebody needs to take care of the one that's stealing. SO WRONG! read more

Hotel is a bit older but nice. Pool is small but warm with a hot tub. There were some rowdy guests at the pool and hotel staff did nothing. Breakfast was usual fare. Overall a good stay and nice hotel. read more
