It was a nice three day trip with my friends in Castle Rock. I checked in on a late evening July 4th. I was greeted immediately by the front desk, who didn't worry about my third party reservation, and have me a room at the requested 4th floor. The room was nothing fancy or upscale, but still clean and comfortable. It has two queen beds that were comfortable enough for sleeping. The TV was large and also a smart TV. There were ample amount of cable channels, and I also was able to enjoy YouTube too. The AC was wall mounted, but cooled the room quite well when needed. The desk area was fine, and I enjoyed the Keurig coffee in the room. The bathroom was clean and organized. The shower pressure was a bit light, but still did the job. The towels could have been thicker, but the bathroom amenities were good. For a 2.5 star hotel, the room was very good. The lobby was casual, but still inviting with enough chairs to relax. The breakfast was complimentary and had good amount of hot foods like omelette, sausage, bacon, and potatoes. Cereals, muffins, and waffles were also available. Juice and coffee were from a dispenser, and were ok. The fitness center and pool were small, but useful. Please note that the entrance doors open manually, but you can press a button to have them open automatically if needed. The service was well caring. The receptionist was very helpful in finding places nearby, and helping me with luggage after I got injured. Checkout was also very easy. Not fancy, not new. Good old fashioned, simple hotel with great beds, great staff and a fabulous breakfast. Hot coffee, regular and decaf, available 24/7 as well as hot water for tea. Cookies for free every afternoon are a great plus. If you need something they will help asap. In a safe, somewhat secluded area right by the highway. No sketchy people anywhere in this town. Have never heard any highway sounds in all the times I've stayed there. Convenient to everything -grocery, restaurants, gas, and a big outlet mall. It is also near the cute downtown area. Some members of my bridal party stayed here. They seemed to have a good experience. This review is for Eunice who was so very nice. My bridesmaid flew in day of wedding and couldn't check in early so she was wandering around Castle Rock. I called and asked if I could pay for early check in or I thought even to upgrade her room. Eunice put me on hold while she checked the status of the room and came back to let me know the room was ready. I so appreciated her extra step because we wanted to all be ready by a certain time. Clean hotel but the hardest most uncomfortable beds we have ever slept in. It's a shame.

So far, this has been a nightmare. First they sent us to an occupied room where someone was sleeping, our door wouldn't latch shut which we didn't realize until the third day here, our shower barely dribbles, and now the elevator is out of service. We're on the fourth floor!!! Will not be coming back. Which is too bad. My daughter and son-in-law had a good experience. I think I wouldn't have been bothered so much if at least one staff member was apologetic. read more

We stayed here as part of a block reservation for our daughter's wedding close by at "The Oaks". We have a medical issue that makes it very difficult to travel and we were concerned that the wait to check in would become problematic. Fortunately, Courtney at the front desk couldn't have been more helpful. She understood the issue and arranged with housekeeping to get us checked in asap. We're very aware that this can be a difficult situation for a hotel, but the staff was very responsive and very kind. AFter having stayed at the neighboring property last year, we decided to give BW a whirl for comparison purposes. All in all, it was a pretty good experience. The one thing that I'd say gave this place the edge was customer service. We put in a request at the front desk for more wash cloths and plastic cups, and within a half hour, the housekeeper was at the door with anything we could have needed. Bravo to her and management for responsiveness. The rest, presented as a comparison: -Breakfast: This one's tough, but I'd give the slight edge to BW. They had variety rather than the same offerings each day. One morning, they had zero juices. Nope, not just out of one, but out of ALL. They did correct this for the remaining days of our stay. Coffee was very, very good. The bacon was delicious! If you read past reviews, there were periodic mentions of an omelette station and green chili being available. Not so during our stay. -Room: The edge undoubtedly goes to Holiday Inn X. In fairness, the latter property is newer. Our room with 2 queens at BW was really tight. Even with 2 small people, we had to squeeze around each other when moving around. Linens and sheets were pretty standard. Bed quality is too subjective to get into. -Cleanliness: The edge here definitely goes to BW. Perfect, no, but things were generally better kept here during our stay. -"Business center" computers in the lobby: Awful. One had a sign saying it was out of order and the other couldn't "connect" to any site other than the BW site. An employee claimed that it was an outdated browser issue but didn't even attempt an upgrade. The computers are apparently for aesthetic purposes which is a joke. Either fix them or remove them, plain and simple. -Location: Both properties are ideally located, with an IHOP and Culvers right there plus Bubbles liquor superstore and the outlet stores a few blocks away. Overall, I would give the two properties a tie. If you asked me which I'd pick for our next stay, I couldn't say one or the other off the top of my head. This is my default hotel for the area. Best western as you know is sort of middle of the road but this one is a notch or two above with upgraded rooms and since I am diamond level, always an upgrade available with a balcony for me. Don't come here if you plan to smoke though... Smoke free facility. On top of everything else, a nice Little personal touch this visit was to see a gift bag with a personalized note and my name on it from the manager as a greeting. They are conveniently located within walking distance to many restaurants to fatten you up as well as a large liquor store next-door. Parking if they are full might be a problem so get in early. BTW, here's a tip, if you shop at the outlet malls across the street the front desk will give you a certificate for a discount and five dollars off at any store. read more

Our hot water heater died & we needed a place to shower for a night. We found a great rate for the Best Western & thought why not? We decided to check in & go for s swim. The front desk gentleman named Chris was so sweet. He welcomed us & made us feel at home. The pool was pretty basic, however it felt great to sit in the hot tub & the kids had a blast swimming. The room was very nice. Super clean & not stuffy when we walked in. The beds were comfy. Breakfast was so yummy! When we have family come to town next, we will for sure use Best Western! read more

I would rate this hotel four stars except for two reasons. 1. It's a little speedy for a Best Western 2. (And this is a biggie for me but might not be for you) the bed I slept on was harder than a steel plate welded to a piece of concrete. Seriously, it's in a great location (near the outlet mall, lots of places to eat and a freeway) and there's plenty of free parking. It has a nicer breakfast than some of the chain hotels (still not great but certainly good as long as you don't need to eat it often) and the staff is friendly. The rooms are large and the WiFi worked good - not great. But I got less than eight hours sleep TOTAL over three nights because of that bed. I could not go back because of that. We were treated as a disruption to the clerk's otherwise peaceful day. Several hours later she was informed that the hot water was gone...again we were treated as it was our fault. The topper is calling themselves, 'pet friendly' when they are anything but! Your pet is allowed only in the room, not even the lobby. Also, no Pit Bulls or Pit Mixes because of a city ordinance (the ordinance was reversed in 2017. Over-all, bad manners and rules, rules and more rules. Not worth the hassle. read more

When checking in, was very disappointed to learn that the pool and breakfast areas were closed for renovation. If we hadn't been so tired, would've looked to stay elsewhere. They did offer us a free breakfast at neighboring hotel--quite a long walk for me, being handicapped. The thought of 2 hotels-worth of guests jamming into one breakfast area was not appealing at all. We ended up eating breakfast at a nearby restaurant. The room itself was outdated, will try to attach a photo of the frame on inside bathroom door, which is rusted in spots. I asked to speak to a manager--was told the manager was at the other hotel so I would've had to go hunt the person down. Not impressed at all! For a Best Western, this place is one of the best I have experienced. I travel extensively. I stay in all kinds of hotels and motels. I spent almost a year visiting the Denver area and found this hotel was hands down my go to spot. Both for price and consistently good customer service and good rooms. In almost a year of staying for several days on end a couple of times a month this place became almost a home away from home. They serve a good hot breakfast in the morning, the rooms are always very clean, the hotel is newly remodeled and feels updated, prices are always good AND it's dog friendly. From stay #1, the staff could not have been nicer more professional and consistently helpful with a sincere smile on their faces. I really came to like each and every person I met there. And if you are looking for a nice suite with a kitchenette they have four suites on upper floors that are nicely outfitted and make a good temporary substitute to cook simple meals while you are traveling. If you don't want to lay out a lot of money and have a reasonable expectation for what you get with a Best Western, it has been my experience, that this location is always a very good value and a very pleasant stay with good rooms and a great staff. read more

Spent two nights here. good hotel. Room nice and clean, big tv in the room. lots of different channels on the TV. (I have been in some-places where the channels are way limited, here you have HBO and other goodies) Nice Hot breakfast, nothing to write home about, but it's free and its hot. Eggs, sausage, potatoes, waffles, fruit, cereal, muffins, bread. coffee etc. indoor pool, but I didn't use it, exercise room had a decent amount of machines. front entryway was real nice. a nice " Commissary" by the front desk, stuff for people who are going to be here for extended stay. centrally located to a lot of things in Castle rock. my only complaint is the internet, wireless or even hooked up to the wall outlet was very slow. Had to stay here on our way from Denver to Colorado Springs due to a blizzard. We had bad service at Hampton Inn (weren't even acknowledged by concierge there) and decided to stay here instead. Chris at the front desk let us in the lobby right away as he was helping another couple. He remained calm as more people were needing a room and needed to be checked in. "We had the WORST experience EVER!!!" The first impression when we got in the hotel, was looking dirty. There is a breakfast area, which is very disorganised, full of boxes on the floor, just a couple of chairs and tables, but not with a welcome spirit on the place at all. The employee at the front desk, from the begging was very unprofessional, impolite and was totally overwhelmed. He answered the phone while he was still talking to us. As we got there to do our check in at 7:30 pm, at the front desk they told us we had 2 rooms. But that was fixed quickly thru Priceline. When he did all the steps for our check in, gave us our room key. MY GOD!!!! It was 7:30 pm (check in time 4:00 pm), and the room was not ready for us!!! Beds were still used from the last guest, bathroom dirty. As we went back to claim our room was not ready for us, the gentleman on the front desk did not even apologise for it, did not offer a drink or anything due to their lack of management!! He just went behind the front desk and ask a lady if she could clean our room now. Instead we wanted a new room, since this one was going to be cleaned so fast that it was going to be still dirty! He said they did not have any rooms left for us. So we preferred to leave the hotel, due to the lack of management and service. Thru this time we never saw the manager of the hotel. We only spoke with him thru the phone. He never showed up, instead he called the police!! We are a family, my daughter and her two kids. What kind of problem could we give? Anyway, the police came, we explained our situation. They said we could not stay at the hotel. But they NEVER gave us back our money, since we already made our check in. TERRIBLE HOTEL!!! When we have friends in from out of town and they want to stay at an area hotel we recommend the Best Western Inn & Suites. It is well located and offers the finest accommodations in the area. Not a resort but a clean, comfy hotel. It does offer an indoor pool, kind front desk personnel and a complimentary breakfast. The perfect hotel in every way! Not only is the location in perfect proximity to shopping, restaurants, and other needs. The property is well appointed with comfortable rooms that offered a very comfortable bed (so comfortable we over slept and had to rush out in order to make our flight). The people were friendly, but when it came to getting the special rate that we had promised, it was a long task of trying to get the manager to call us back.
