My husband and I traveled to the Waterloo/Cedar Falls, Iowa area for Thanksgiving and stayed at the Comfort Suites in Cedar Falls during our stay. We checked in on Thursday, Thanksgiving Day, and checked out on Saturday. The front desk attendant was very pleasant. I did not like our room placement. Our room was next to the mechanics room. Throughout the night, it made loud noises that could be heard in our room. Our room was also next to the pool, which proved to be a high traffic area with noisy children and families. Parents also allowed their children to run screaming up and down the hallway. The room itself was fine. It had a separate couch and bed area. Neither the couch nor bed were super comfortable, but they did the trick for the two days we were there. The bathroom was nice and large and had a modern feel to it. There were some stains on the carpet. The breakfast had lots of options, from waffles to eggs, sausage, potatoes, biscuits, and gravy to fruit and cereal. They also offered milk, coffee, and fruit juices. The only downside was that the same food was offered both days. I was hoping that some of the hot food options would be different every day. Overall, this hotel served its purpose. We got a clean bed to sleep in and a hot breakfast. read more

One of the nicer hotels I've stayed at in the area, there's plenty of parking here and the entire facility is quite spacious with all the amenities you could want (laundry, pool, free breakfast, wifi, lounge area, etc.). The rooms are also reasonably priced considering how large they are compared to the standard hotel room, with quite a bit of room for the sofa and desk work areas. The bed was a bit firm for me and I didn't love having a lot of smaller pillows, but it was a good generous size with lots of linens. The bathroom and shower was also quite large, with plenty of space to move around. The breakfast was quite complete as well with all the juices, coffee, cereals, fruit, sausage, eggs, biscuits, potatoes, waffles, and other items that you could want to start the day. The dining room is fairly large though it also gets quite busy in the morning. Overall, this place meets the needs of any traveler and is located in a convenient spot near shopping. read more

i'd almost forgotten what a nice Choice property this is ! Seriously---I was at another nice Choice property recently ---however--this one takes the cake. My room is quiet, clean, and I really do feel at home when I'm here. Great location, and staff was friendly and helpful. Made a return visit here on my most recent visit to Iowa. This is my 4th or 5th time staying here, and it's because this hotel always hits the mark. It's always quiet, it's always clean and the staff is always friendly. The rooms are spacious and loaded with comfort, the property offers wonderful amenities like Laundry and Gym facilities, a very nice indoor pool, free breakfast and is right down the street from both a Walmart and Target. I can't speak for every traveler but it is ideal for me. read more

The hotel was clean and close to everything that we needed - food, grocery, entertainment, gas, etc... The chlorine in the pool was super strong - I suppose that is both good and bad. As a wildly successful touring stand-up comedian, I've stayed in more than my share of hotels. However, the customer service and luxury at this location were no joke! There are restaurants and a Target nearby, which is very convenient, since we all know that not having food or groceries is no laughing matter! The room was big and clean and I found the staff pleasant. A nearby Pizza Hut had a fresh pie there in no time flat! (for more on that see my separate review of that pizza on this site. The hotel is older and does need some updates to decor and lighting. But the staff is beyond helpful! The swimming pool has a splash pad area also great for small kids. Free breakfast everyday. Wednesday's they have an omelette station. The jacuzzi room has a large over sized bathtub. They also have snacks and drinks on Tuesday night. read more

I stayed here over the weekend to meet family, very nice hotel for the price. We were all very comfortable and enjoyed the indoor pool with the fountain and the breakfast was fresh and not cold. I have stayed here 10-14 days each month for past 7 years. The staff is outstanding, always going the extra step to ensure my comfort away from home. I always bring my cat and the staff is incredibly accommodating of its needs . The hotel is quiet at night, they don't tolerate noisy guests. Breakfasts are always available both hot and cold , they have upgraded the internet and it is now always reliable. Beds and bedding are 1st class, rooms are always clean and tidy. This is the only hotel in the area that takes pets. They are very nice and super friendly. It's pretty clean and quiet. In the evenings that have a little social hour with free -(cheap) beer and wine-chips and sandwiches. It's a nice gesture. The internet is reliable. I'm usually working while I'm here and it's close to most major highways-restaurants and "the mall." Lots of seating for breakfast. The one con-the gym is very, very small. One treadmill. The gym in the pictures does not look correct. If you become a rewards member you can check out by 2pm. I totally recommend it. read more

Whohoo is right. You walk into hotel and there was fresh cookies and a very welcome mean front desk to greet you. Damn you fresh cookies. Right down the hallway was a large pool and a nice workout facility. The hotel room itself is truly a sweet, as it's large and features 2flat screen TVs. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Comfort Suites. My room was huge! It had a separate bedroom (ideal for traveling with family or larger groups), and even featured a Jacuzzi tub and fireplace! Plus, the rooms have microwaves and refrigerators, making it easy to save on food costs. This hotel is extremely quiet, and the beds are comfortable, which provide for an excellent night's sleep. Comfort Suites has a nice pool, a fitness center, and a really large continental breakfast. Also, this hotel is close to gas stations (Kwik Star is next door), Target, a lot of other retail stores and restaurants. read more

First time at this hotel. I chose if for location and price, which means you're never sure what you're going to get. I arrived a couple hours before check in, but they immediately got me a room. The room was large and laid out well. Most importantly, everything was very clean. It was quiet and the work area was big enough to accommodate what I needed to get done. I also love a hotel where I can open the windows and get fresh air in the room. 60 degree day in February-had to take advantage of that. The fitness center has three cardio machines and a universal type machine for some weight work. Breakfast was well stocked and to my surprise, I was able to get a made to order omelette. The location is terrific. The convenience store is next door and you're a short drive from a lot of shopping and restaurants. The staff was terrific-helpful, efficient and fun to deal with. It was a great stay and will be hard pressed to find a better value. When I come back to the region, I'll book another stay at this Comfort Suites. read more

Came here for an Omega Cabinetry factory tour. I think this has been a great place to stay. The staff and drivers have been amazing. I would recommend staying here if you ever visit Waterloo. Only thing I didn't like was my room was a little hot at night. But beds are comfortable and they have a little mini coffee bar in the am. read more

Spent a lot of time here. The hotel is nice and the rooms are clean and breakfast is okay. However I will say the pool... watch out for the hot tub/pool the chemicals in it ruined my suit as well as others. It discolored and faded a few of my suits. Otherwise it's a good hotel. read more
