Room was clean. The fun stops there. The place is in general disrepair. Sign by the road is busted.Sign on building is not lit up. Door on room won't lock. Pool is cloudy and smells over treated. All minor stuff so far. Elevator broken. I can deal with that. I am healthy. What's a few flights of stairs? Meh. Half the stuff in the room broken. Not here to be entertained, anyway. We can play cards, or something. Air conditioner broken. I can deal with that. Stuff happens. We camp a lot. It is an adventure. Yippie - the bed works. Don't need the covers though. It's 95 degrees in here! Front desk kid telling me to leave the property because I was upset that I have soaked clothes from the heat .... and he did not want to deal with an upset customer. Hilarious. Man. I must have really been a jerk to get told to leave the property. He did not even try to get me another room or a room at another property. Or even care that I was put out. Kids today have no grit. Why didn't he put it back to me at least and stand up for himself. He could have called be a jack ass. Hit me. Something. But send me packing.....or suggest it :). Wimp. I guess I am driving home tonight. Too hot. Lesson learned. Don't be a jerk to the guy that can get you a room in 100 weather. Point of the post. Be nice to the kid at the front desk. Or he may put you in 310 ....the room without air conditioning! Update: Manager must have read the post. She gave us another room.....but whomever has this room will have the same issue because the air guy isn't coming until Monday. I guess that's the way we do business in Gainesville. Friendly at the front desk. We came in late at night and I think we wound up getting a nicer room than intended, it was wheel chair accessible suite with 2 queens and a pull out couch bed. Toilet base was off center so you could see the rust ring on the floor. Relatively clean for being sold out. Workers in breakfast area were nice. Basic breakfast including waffle makers, bagels, cereal and eggs. Seemed relatively safe. Three locks on the doors, one deadbolt two privacy locks. There was a lot of convenient stores around. Prices in the snack/ needs area were reasonable. Would stay there again. read more

Sure wished we would have read the reviews , from the outside it really looks nice other than the parking lot , there was so many cigarette buds vodka bottles and beer cans , sure need to get some maintenance there ! We arrived and checked in to a very unsociable desk clerk, trying to stay positive here and get to our room well our key did not work so back down to first floor to get our key to work back up to room , what now No Towels Really !!!! Call front dest told to look for maid cart and ask her , No maid cart back down to office get 2 towels , back to room ready for shower What no wash rags really Not going back to office just using a towel , finally made it to morning finally time to check out , only to find another surprise, they didn't honor the price I was told over phone !!!! Next time get a confirmation email and bring your own towels Lesson Learn ! well here is a little tale. i booked a room on Hotels.com and had a free night coming! Yay! Got to Gainesville and our GPS was not getting us to the Comfort Suites so we called hotel. Young girl could NOT tell us how to get to Hotel. How do you not know where you work? We drove around for a bit and finally found it. Got checked into room 209. Get to room and it's occupied. Yep, guy laying in bed. All 3 of us Along with our cart go back to desk. Tell young girl room is occupied, no I'm sorry, just a "our system shows it was open". Got keys to room 2. I even asked girl if she was sure room was open and she said yes. We haul our stuff to room and guess what? OCCUPIED! So we go back to desk and again, no I'm sorry, nothing. Said young girl was having a long ride on the struggle bus. We decided to leave that hotel and go to the Holiday Inn Express. Very nice and helpful gal at desk. Hotels.com was awesome to get my free night back. Needless to say I'll be calling the manager in the morning. read more

We got to the hotel early and thought we could go in but the room wasn't ready came back later only to find that someone was in the room that we were supposed to be in. The hotel was very dark the pool was not filled and it smelled like a musty smell. The room has been booked 2 months prior. After long wait we were told that we could go into a room but it didn't have a TV the Wi-Fi didn't work and we told him that we did not want that. We then got online and found a room in Durant and we had to travel to Durant to get another room. The girl at the desk was very rude and really didn't want to help look like she was all confused there was another couple that also had the same problem. This was very disheartening due to the fact that we had traveled so far. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone. read more

this was the worst 3 weeks I ever had anywhere, had to snake our own toilet, light bulb was burnt out in bathroom and never changed, the phones did not work right, the headboard was not attached to wall and never fixed, the switch for the fan was for a light not a fan, and it hummed when trying to lower the speed, breakfast was never the same each day, one day out of sugar, then another day out of milk, the last straw was the day they were out of coffee. Never offered any compensation an any way shape or form and that was after I talked to the owner and brought him in my room to show him it was never vacumed or trash removed. This hotel is getting 1 star because I have to give a star. On Christmas Day we checked into this hotel. We originally were in room 220 but the tv didn't work so they switched us to room 323. We should have taken pictures because you probably aren't going to believe what I'm about to write. It was 830 at night, after 5 days of traveling we got to our new room, turned on the tv and went to sleep. Come daylight we realized we slept in some sort of crime scene. A picture was missing from the wall, and there was brown splatter all over the plug in by the tv. Could be coffee, could be blood? Hard to decide with what we found next. The furthest bed from the door had a white comforter and the entire corner of it was saturated in blood. Shocked and suddenly amazed that this room was considered livable, we started packing. As we put away the pull out couch, we found a banana peel and a yogurt filled with maggots. We also turned the pillows over and found makeup smears of black and brown. So they had never even changed the sheets from the last occupant. We loaded our stuff on the cart as fast as possible and returned to our vehicle. When turning in the room keys, my husband asked the front desk lady and the head housekeeper to come see the mess. He requested the "points" to be returned to our brother in law who kindly got the room for us. They agreed the room was insufficient and they would refund the points if my brother in law called. My brother in law called up there and was told there was nothing wrong with the room. As a family who travels often due to the military, I am appalled at the level of filth and the lack of integrity of this organization. We have stayed in hundreds of hotels and have never had a bad experience. When my husband called back after my brother in law, and spoke with the lady that saw the room, she pretended there was nothing wrong with it and said he needs to speak with the housekeeper. After asking to speak to a manager she said she would only take our number down and continued to refuse to admit what she saw. I recommend no one ever use this hotel. Cause who knows, you may just sleep in a crime scene. read more

My sister and I rented a hotel room here. The room was really nice and we were pleased by hotel. However, she left her pillow there. We called as soon as we discovered it. The desk clerk advised he would ship it to her. They charged $40 to ship it, then, it was not even her pillow. So, we have attempted to get them to at the very least refund the $40. We have attempted to contact them by phone at least once a week and by email for approximately 2 months. They refuse to return any call or email. We have even contacted the corporate office, who advise that it it the particular hotel that must take care of the situation. #SERIOUSLY FRUSTRATED! read more

We stayed here after a concert at the WinStar Casino and were quite pleased with the accomodations. It was convenient to I35. The hotel was clean and the suite was large and comfy with two beds and a sitting area. The complimentary breakfast was also good with a variety of food and beverages. read more

The staff here was very courteous and helpful and the bed was comfortable. That being said, there are some real problem with this property. When we opened the door to the room, we found that the large, heavy headboard had fallen onto the bed. If my wife or I had been in the bed when this fell, we would have been injured. Then, we were assigned to another room which had the following problems: 1) There was no baseboard around the wall; looked unfinished. 2) The carpet was frayed where it met the tile floor. 3) The refrig was not on when we arrived. 4) The ceiling fan was very noisy, so we had to turn it off. 5) The security latch was missing from the door, so we did not feel secure. 6) The elliptical machine in the fitness center was broken, so I could not work out. 7) The shower head was not made to swivel and was aimed too high. 8) The safe in the closet was not mounted to the floor, so it was worthless. Based on our experience, in my opinion, the franchisee of this property needs to make some serious renovations to this property to earn even 3 stars. Unless this property is renovated, I doubt we will consider staying here again. read more

My wife and I were traveling through Gainesville when our car broke down and we had to spend a Friday night in town because it was in the evening and all the mechanic shops were closed. We shared this information with the very friendly staff, just to ensure we could land a place to stay. The staff that evening, Erin and Cheyyen were the best!! They not only ensured that we had a place to stay, but they went above and beyond the call of duty to make our stay as pleasant as possible, after all, we had just spent 3 hours in a very toasty car. Called in advance to stay at comfort suites in Gainsville on April 26,2019. I called even the day of my stay to make sure the indoor pool was working I was taking my 4 yr old granddaughter. I was told yes it is open. We get to the hotel and about 4:30pm went to the pool. On the door was a ( CLOSED)!!!! Seriously, I made sure to call the morning of because I didn't want my money wasted. Went back to the room and turned on the tv and literally NO DISNEY CHANNELS whatsoever. No channels for children 10 and under. As of today this hotel is NOT children friendly. I'm from out of town but my grandson lives in Gainesville so I had him come over to go to the "indoor heated pool" based on the hotel information on their website. Much to his disappointment, the pool is part of the construction. It would take someone 5 minutes to update their website stating that the pool is closed and the hotel is under construction. Deceptive Advertising, Horrible Customer Service, & Black Mold Infested Property My recent stay at the Gainesville, TX Comfort Suites ended with them charging me 5x my room rate, being exposed to black mold which was highly visible in my room, and being jerked around by the property manager. My initial response was to contact corporate but they didn't respond despite their advertised 72 hr turnaround time. When they finally did get around to emailing me back after me hounding them, I was basically told via email that they wouldn't listen to my side of the story and that these issues are handled at the property level (which are the people I had an issue with). When I did some digging I found out that hotels under this brand are independently owned and operated locally and that this brand is just there to pool costs for advertising and system resources. So it is essentially a bunch of mom & pop shops masquerading as a large company. There is no true corporate governing body with oversight power so your customer experience is based solely on if the local hotel owner chooses to operate a their hotel fairly or if they try to get over on people like the Gainesville location. My advice, avoid any hotel under this banner altogether. read more

We stayed last night and after our concert came back to our room, climbed in our bed and had a large bed bug crawl across our bed. We got out of bed and moved our pillows and had 8 lil bed bugs start to scatter away. I went to talk to the desk person and all they could do was give us a refund and offer to move us to another room. Why???? So we can spread the bed bugs on our stuff. We had our bags and clothes on the beds for hours while at the concert. We had to pack all our stuff into trash bags and leave so we wouldn't infest our car and house. So my Mother's Day weekends was totally ruined. They also had the ceiling falling and all over the ground in the pool area. The indoor spa was green and ice cold with a note that said "sorry for the inconvience". Another sign on elevator that stated issues with elevator. The wall paper on the left side of lobby was curling and coming off the wall. They put plants to hide it. They tell you the are under construction but we stayed here 8 months ago and they said the same thing back then too. While dealing with the bedbugs and waiting to hear from the manager, I heard them tell 2 other couple that the room was $179 tonight. Seriously!!!!! With all these issues. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!! Evening / night manager (Azaid? red haired man) spoke contemptuously to us (after waiting 8 minutes in line) I watched as he took his time chatting with others in the lounge while a line of people just wanted to get check in for the night. 2. No extra pillows, sheets or comforter in room for use in extra bed- talked f2f with night manager - he told me there are no extra pillows in the hotel - I responded.... "Really?" 3. Couldn't sleep with constant running bath faucet which couldn't be turned off all the way and had to turn off the ceiling fan due to the awful noise it made (at all speeds) very uncomfortable night. Positives - room was clean and the lady serving the breakfast buffet was very helpful and polite. Note to CEO - if the first customer contact at the front desk makes a bad impression by refusing to be helpful and making threatening remarks to guests with reasonable requests - they probably will not return - I can tell you our total party of 8 folks will not. read more

My room did not have any towels. I called the front desk, and they said they would call housekeeping. After 30 minutes, and no towels, I peeked in the hallway and noticed housekeeping. I asked them if they had any towels, and they said no, they were out of towels. I told them that I just checked in and that the room didn't have any towels. They were like oh, and proceeded to grab 2 towels out of a cart. One was damp, and I'm thinking to myself...could these be dirty towels? Gross. You told me that you didn't have any towels, and all of a sudden, miraculously you have 2 that you could give me. No, I did not use those towels. I had to use Kleenex to dry my hands. When I woke up the next morning, I called the front desk, and guess what? No towels! Can you believe that! I'm not asking for extra towels, I'm asking for towels that my room didn't have upon check-in...you know the room that I'm paying for! If your hotel is out of towels, why isn't someone doing laundry? So, from 3pm-8am there wasn't anyone doing laundry? I asked the front desk how they'd feel if they checked in a room that didn't have towels? She was like, I'm helping another customer! I got dressed and left! Never again! I could deal with the slight delay checking in because the system was down, the dirty stained drapes and sheets, the disgusting moldy smell, the crust and crumbs all over the couch, and the non stop barking dog, but the no towel thing is unacceptable! If I could give it 0 stars, I would!!! I checked into room 402 and found 2 bedbugs. I always check and when I pulled the sheets back, i found crumbs and what look like dried ramen noodles by the headboard and wall. I pushed the mattress back and that's when I found 2 bedbugs. Couldn't get the 1st one but caught the 2nd one alive and moving! They moved me to 408, no bugs however the desk had stains. Floor hasn't been vacuumed in probably ages, I found a casino chip on the floor. They really need to do a better job at cleaning the rooms!!! We asked the cleaning lady to just replace the towels, well guess what? She grabbed the dirty towels off the floor and folded them and put them back on the shelf. Of course, I didn't notice till the morning. Also, our key would open the door but it seem as if something was stuck and the attendant at the front desk had to come to our room and unlock it, he stated the "maintenance" man messes with the doors. My question is why?? So your going to inconvenience the customer and have them make multiple trips from the 4th floor to the first to have someone come unlock the door. Just does not make any sense at all!! I always stay at the Hyatt for about $120 a night, it's a shame that such a nasty place like the Comfort Suites has the audacity to charge $120-130 a night for nasty, smelly, roach and bedbug infested place! I WILL NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN! 2 other family members booked a room and one had roaches running around, they informed the manager and they did nothing! I also asked to speak to the manager and they lied and said he wasnt there and didn't know what time he would be there yet his green motorcycle is sitting g outside! Here's my experience with this hotel---I was in the area to pick up my grandsons so just stopped at the first decent looking place I saw. There was a young man and a young woman at the front desk, and both were very friendly. I was assigned a room on the 2nd floor but discovered the elevator didn't work. When I told the young man I couldn't do the stairs (I have a bad knee), he quickly reassigned me a room on the first floor. Room appeared to be clean so everything was great so far (but I did see a couple of cockroaches in the room). Went to have breakfast the next morning and ended up taking it to my room because there was a man who was continually blowing his nose in the dining area. (I know that isn't the hotel's fault). I know this is a no no at most places but figured it was ok because I was in the room by myself and was just taking my plate. But I guess they saw me and got pissed because , when I got home, I discovered a $250 charge on my account. When I called the hotel to find out what was going on, they said it was for smoking in the room. What??? I haven't smoked inside a hotel room in years, not even when I've had smoking rooms. I DID go out front a couple of times to what I assumed was the smoking area (there was a drop ashtray and I saw other people smoking there). And I had been smoking in my small car on my 3 hour trip so I probably did smell like cigarettes. But smelling like cigarettes is not the same as actually smoking in the room. I've called countless times and was only able to speak with the manager once. She said she'd talk to general manager and see what they could do. I called several times the other day and didn't get an answer at all. Called again yesterday and manager wasn't in. Tired of dealing with them so am just filing a dispute with my bank about the charge and I have an appointment to speak with an attorney next Monday. This has been a nightmare to deal with, as it overdrafted my account and I've incurred overdraft fees. I could have dealt with the elevator not working, hot tub not working, breakfast being just ok, even the roaches in my room...but it's ridiculous that someone can just yank money out of your account and accuse you of something you haven't done. This was absolutely the worst experience I've ever had at a hotel. My husband and I stayed here to attend KOL at Winstar. We usually enjoy Comfort Suites locations as they are affordable, clean, spacious and cover the necessities. But this location needs some serious maintenance and upkeep. The room was clean and spacious, but didn't have a working tv. For $100 a night and having a few hours to kill, we'd like a tv that works. So the young man at the front desk moved us to another room. Well, the 2nd room didn't have a working a/c! So we opted to go back to our first room since the only rooms available were doubles. Come to find out, once we're getting settled in after a long night out, the a/c in there wouldn't kick back on! Luckily they have ceiling fans over the bed & we had a small fan with us as well. At 2am we had to make the best of it! Moving back and forth and sleeping in a stuff room weren't ideal. He did discount us $30 for the hassle, but were just ready to get out of there. I stayed at the hotel for two nights to visit the Winstar casino in November 2015. The room was clean and the staff was very friendly. We got a room with a Jacuzzi tub. The tub worked well and was also clean. The room had a microwave, fridge, hug window and plenty of space. We especially enjoyed the complimentary breakfast every morning. We got waffles, sausage, eggs and orange juice. All very tasty. Was my first time booking with Comfort Suites and would book again at this location if I ever came back to Gainesville. The hotel is just 10 minutes from the casino. There are also several places in the area that deliver food to the hotel. read more
