I would recommend because of the customer service. It was top-notch and very accommodating. If you are looking for a more modern contemporary hotel style, then this is not the place. However, the hotel had really high reviews on Google and great sanitation ratings for both the hotel and the food. The check-in process was easy and there are multiple restaurants in the area. There's also a Walmart conveniently located about five minutes away and if you had an electric car, there's a charging station literally less than two minutes away. The location is kind of for if you're looking to do things in Riley. It's almost 40 minute drive but traffic was not an issue. Outside of the distance the price was pretty fair and the beds were comfortable. I'll upload more pictures and videos later. Oh, I forgot to mention that the elevator went out, and I was located on the third floor. It was a struggle trying to get my luggage down the stairs. read more

We planned ahead to stop here overnight on our way to points south. From Maryland, it was about the halfway point. Convenient location right off 95 with many choices for hungry travelers close by. This Comfort Suites seems to be in the middle of a renovation (yahhh, Choice Hotels) but nothing was going on that disturbed our visit on a Friday evening. This location also seems to be a stopping point for families on their way to points south as well as there were many of them. The hotel offers an outdoor pool and gazebo, picnic tables and charcoal grills, cornhole game and volleyball net with plenty of other green space for kids to play. I thought that was a nice touch. Our room was clean, comfortable and spacious. Bonus points for the charger/electrical port at bedside. The free hot breakfast in the morning was good. If we find ourselves going in this direction again, we would definitely consider staying here in the future. read more

I travel 45+ days a year and stay in every imaginable type of property. I have no loyalty to any brand or option, I use all of them; hotels, AirBNB, VRBO, Bed and Breakfasts - it doesn't matter as long as it is clean and convenient. I literally belong to every known hotel loyalty program out there (Marriott, Hilton, etc...) I have been a Choice Hotel member for over 20 years and I have to say this is the most disappointed I have ever been in one of their properties. When we arrived, we learned the elevator was broken as well as the Wi-Fi due to a lightning strike the previous night. Fair enough, I understand there are acts of nature from time to time, so I wasn't that upset about that. The condition of our room when we arrived was a different story. The room was poorly lit, and no side table lamps, which made it impossible to read in bed. The mini-fridge appeared to have leaked onto the floor and left a large stain on the carpet and the carpet was damp near the air conditioning unit. If I wasn't so tired from traveling, I would have walked across the street to the other hotel. The wall paper in the bathroom was peeling or looked to have been removed due to water damage. The water in the bath tub/shower dripped, which was loud enough that I had to shut the door to sleep. The only thing that made me give this place 1 star instead of ZERO stars was the breakfast, because it was your standard fair. It was stocked and the staff person was warm and welcoming in the morning and brewed great coffee. The icing on the cake is when I arrived home, I received and email with the "Additional Charges" from my stay which included a $1 charge for a hydro-massage (which I didn't receive), and a $3.99 charge for Hotel Services fee - for which I was never informed. This type of practice does nothing but give this property a bad name. My only advice is to AVOID this at all costs!!! read more

The staff was friendly enough. One younger lady at the desk had a face full of tobacco and had no problem spitting in a cup when you were talking with her. The set up of the door and the bathroom door is stupid. One hits the other. The carpet was all torn and ripped, but the bed was comfy. read more

Had the unfortunate experience of being in one of this properties rooms for 10 minutes. Check in was quick, but upon entering the room we were greeted by a cockroach crawling across the bed. And another on the AC unit, along with a stink bug (it happens, but 4" x 2" hole in wall next to AC probably didn't help with that one). A third cockroach crawling on the floor and a much smaller one on the wall. Front desk said they were out of "allocated" rooms and our only option was to check out after a total of 20 minutes since check in. And since the room was booked through Expedia, they can only refund if approved by the hotel manager. read more

Clean hotel that is well placed right off of 95. There are a few low rated restaurants near by or you can drive 25 minutes soy that for better options near Smithfield. Our a/c system was so horrifically loud it nearly made my ears bleed. Considering 2 in our family are hard of hearing and requiring hearing assistive devices this is especially bad. I stayed for 2 nights since I was in town working on a project at a client site. My client suggested that this was one of the "nicer" places to stay in Wilson. It is a typical Comfort Suites - nothing exciting or outstanding about it... but I gave it 4 stars because it was clean & the front desk staffers were friendly. I booked a king & found the bed to be comfy with plenty of pillows to choose from. I like that they had a plug-in station on the desk convenient for charging phone, tablet, & laptop all at once. However I do wish hotels would add accessible charging stations right by the bed for phone charging. The room also has microwave, coffee maker & mini-fridge which are nice to have when you are on the road. I skipped the free breakfast but did get coffee, which was not bad. While getting my coffee, I noticed that they had some sort of eggs & breakfast meat available in addition to pastries, apples, yogurt, cereal, etc. read more

Selected this hotel for its convenience and seemed to have good ratings. Was driving for 8 hours shocked in dropped my stuff and went out to dinner. When I returned I went into the bathroom and saw the mess on the wall. A short time later saw there was water leaking g from the toilet into the floor? How do this things go I corrected? A terrifying experience and we had to get Choice Hotels to negotiate safe leaving for our family. There is something very wrong at this place. Yes the lobby is nice and most staff is nice, but ask yourself why there is a back entrance near the pool that is left unlocked until at least 10 pm, why some rooms towards the back of the hotel are smoke filled and the upper management is belligerent. Other women have also reported the angry behavior of this man. Not alone here. This is a terrifying location even though on the surface most seems well. read more

Glad the room looked as good as the pictures because when you get in the elevator it looks pretty beat up and makes you think oh my gosh what am i in store for when i get to the room. And the second thing i noticed was a questionable stain on the sofa looked to be something kinda clear/white won't say what i think it was. Room 428. The good news first: This Comfort Suites had friendly and competent front desk staff. The breakfast included more choices than its nearby sister Choice Hotel, Quality Inn, that we stayed in last year. Bad news? Bed bugs. We stayed two nights in the last full week of July 2018. We noticed what looked like rust stains or streaks on a pillow and bed sheet. A cleaning staff member said she would change the sheets as we were going out to eat the first day but that didn't happen. We shrugged that off and went to bed. The second night my wife and I woke up in the king-size bed (our three-month-old sleeping between us) with the feeling that something was crawling or itching. I saw a reddish bug the size of a pinhead near my face. Ripping off the covers we saw several more on the bed and under pillows. We took many photos and video of the bed bugs, packed up and checked out at 4:00 am. The night desk said his computer was down and that he'd leave a note for the manager. Our mistake was not getting him to go up and witness it for himself, because the manager I called in following days passed me to a "general manager" who would not take my calls. This general manager answered the phone message I left with an email which suggested that our family had brought the bed bugs to his hotel. He said "professionals" had checked out my claim and found nothing. I tried to send him the photos and videos but attachments were rejected. I would not have posted this review, because the hotel was actually pretty nice. But since the GM stonewalled... here you go. Stay here with caution. read more

I stayed at this hotel on 12/19-12/20 for a business trip (room 334). I noticed I got bedbug bites the next day and contacted the hotel. But still yet to get a call back from the General Manager (Dennis Johnson). After several attempts to reach management, I went back to the hotel to make a complaint with the front desk. Melvin D was the staff member on site on Friday 12/28. Rather than be empathic to my complaint and listen to him, He denied any prior complaints of bedbugs in this hotel. Pretty much said I was lying. STAY far away from this hotel unless you don't mind bed bugs. I read reviews online like you are now and it was rated quite well. Was concerned after reading these reviews (and already having booked and paid for room) but once we got in to check in, found that a lot of the reviews had no validity. Our room was clean, had no unusual smells. Mattresses were flipped and covers pulled. Sheets were definitely clean. There was no sign of bugs between mattress/box spring nor in or under couch. Lady at front desk was very nice and when I mentioned my concerns based off reviews I read after booking she assured me she, herself would stay there with her kids and told me if I found anything not to my liking to come back down and she would rectify it. Breakfast was decent. Waffle mix (regular and strawberry) available to make fresh waffles. Cereals, bagels, muffins, as well as eggs, Turkey sausage, and biscuits and gravy. I'm not a big breakfast eater, but my waffle was good and my daughter and boyfriend enjoyed the rest as they tried everything. Would absolutely stay here again! read more

My mom and I are driving a long way so we decided to drive as far as we could in one day and then rest when we got too tired. That happened around midnight in Wilson so we stopped here for the night. The desk attendant was over in the breakfast area with what looked like another employee or friend and when we walked in the woman said "it's literally the middle of the night" complaining that we were checking in so late. We should have just turned around immediately. Rooms are also nothing crazy and not the cleanest either, they don't even have a toilet paper roll holder you just have to put the roll wherever. This hotel is not worth the rude customer service and bare minimum rooms. read more

Just avoid! What a horrible customer service experience. I had a confirmed reservation and when I show up they will not let me get a room. They refer to their policy placard at the desk that they will not provide rooms to locals. Booked a room for an anticipated memorial day anniversary weekend as a gift, closer to home because my 80 year old mother lives with us and we wanted to be nearby. Booked our room through booking.com, which we have done many times before. We were refused our room here on arrival when I presented my driver's license and credit card, as is routine on check in. Reason the clerk gave.. because of a policy at this hotel that doesn't allow anyone who loves with in 30 miles to get a room at their hotel. We booked spontaneously. We were very shocked naturally and very dissappointed, when we were asked why. We were told because of rooms being vandalized/destroyed by locals renting rooms. We were then told it was in important information on booking.com. Very disappointed and shocked at how we were categorized. Instead of asking us about our circumstances, they chose to assume we were in that category. We, who are both seniors, and had no plans for a party.. Only a very quiet secluded 2 days together with some rest. I've lived elsewhere and never have run into this at any local hotel I've rented for a one or two night getaway. People who travel from longer distances than 30 miles are just as capable of doing damage. Truly how fair is this? As it turns out, we called another hotel property closer by who was very flexible and surprised that happened to us. They not only accommodated our weekend, getting our business, but invited us back anytime. Country Inn just handed our business to a competitor for that weekend and future visits. Maybe Radisson should look into changing that policy. We will never consider booking a room again with any Radisson when we plan our future travels. read more

This was prob one of the nicer hotels we stayed at for a quick stay - just 1 night while traveling. Room was clean, plenty of towels and the breakfast was great (pastries, waffles, individually wrapped sandwiches, cereal) especially during Covid. Front desk attendant was respectful and helpful. Only complaint is that our room was near the outside lights so it as like daytime all night long with the light in the room even with curtains drawn. Arrived at 1am with reservation that was completed on choice hotels website. I am a travel nurse and my permanent address is in Raleigh. I had just driven 10 hours from Florida for a new assignment and nothing on the reservation or description for this property said anything about not renting to individuals living within 50 miles. Stopped here on our travel from FL to NY. From the second you walked into the lobby, you knew that you made the right decision to stay here! Everything is soooo clean, organized, front desk is so friendly, etc! Went to our room and was truly surprised at how big the rooms are!! The price was right, and we were very happy to find this hotel had vacancies after coming upon many filled hotels on our drive north from Florida. The staff was very friendly both when we checked in and when we checked out. The room was spacious with high ceilings and a separate seating area, complete with coffee table, microwave, and fridge. It was mostly clean, but there were stray greasy handprints on the furniture and walls. I prefer not to think about the origin of those prints. The a/c unit seems to have had two settings: freezing cold and off. I tried several different temperatures on the thermostat, but couldn't adjust it. The vent in the bathroom never turned on. When we checked in, there was a nasty thunderstorm raging outside. We couldn't hear that from in our room. However, we could hear the other people on our floor opening and closing the doors to their room. The first time we heard it, it was so loud that my husband thought I slammed the bathroom door. No noise seemed to make it through from the other rooms, by the hallway noises were unusually loud. The wifi was a joke. It was so slow that I ended up shutting it. My phone was faster running off the cell towers. There is a breakfast buffet, but there are only enough tables for about 10 rooms to be seated at a time, so it gets crowded. All that said, I would stay here again on a long drive. read more

For the the price, this place is great. We did a quick stop. It's cleans and the people who work there are friendly. The free breakfast had a make your own waffles section. They had a cinnamon syrup batter that made delicious waffles. Also had some eggs with sausage and continental breakfast. Was pleased to discover that the other positive reviews we'd read were correct. This Comfort Inn is clean, comfortable, not-dated and conveniently located. The staff is incredibly warm and gracious- we stayed on both of the legs of our trip from NJ to SC. The kids loved the pool, and the free breakfast far exceeded my expectations- omelettes, sausage, waffles, yogurt, cereal, decent coffee- everything was actually quite good! This property does not welcome soccer teams. I have been required to stay at this hotel 5 years in a row for one of my sons soccer tournaments. The team was required to stay in this hotel. High price in the middle of nowhere with minimal hospitality for the guests. Expect that type of equation in NYC not in NC. The breakfast is less than one star and when one of the players asked the attendant if she could reload some food her response was "you guys are just eating too fast" and then went on to continue cleaning a table. Lots of folks go out to eat. You would think that with the premium we paid to stay in this "soccer friendly" hotel they could at least accommodate a late check out if your last game is in the afternoon. Nope. When we were finally checked in the room we were given was not cleaned. When we went down to complain the manger was not sympathetic and just made excuses. The breakfast in the morning was ok. Great hotel for the money. The rooms are spacious with a pull-out couch and a bed (we had a king room.) Bed was VERY comfortable! The hotel was clean and the front desk staff pleasant. Our floor had a washer/dryer which came in handy since we had dirty soccer uniforms to wash. Breakfast is included (and isn't anything fancy) but great if you want cereal/yogurt of a muffin. Could use a little more seating near the lobby/breakfast area as there was no where to sit (full of soccer players) so we brought our food up to the room. The pool was just ok (didn't appear as new as the rest of the place.) Great location! Would definitely stay again! read more

Phenomenal customer service! From check in to check out, everyone I encountered was great, especially Neil. The guest services staff were all friendly, outgoing, helpful, and just so pleasant. The overall property was very clean. The room was nice and the beds were very comfortable. The only complaint was that my AC made a rattling noise, but it wasn't enough to keep me awake or even address with the staff. Just a minor annoyance. Definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who needs a quiet, comfortable place to stay. read more
