We spent $14,00 on your windows that have drafts worse than our old 40+ year old ones. Your tech came and admitted they were constructed poorly and STILL we have no date when they'll be fixed. Windows installed this past October My wife called on 1/2, had the tech come 1/15. Called back 1/29 since we never got a date and was told a supervisor would call her right back. Still nothing. Brand new windows painter taped to keep the draft out. If I were looking for windows I'd go elsewhere.

Had Comfort replace all my windows about 10 years ago. Since then the sun beating down on the house for over 10 years had damaged the weather striping on the bottom of the windows. causing them to get brittle and flake off. Called Comfort over 10 times to ask what weather striping they use and where i can purchase the strips, They refuse to help me and have been giving me a run around for over a month now. I have been transfered to someone that could help me but that person never calls back. I believe that they don't want to help because there is no money for them to make. so much for keeping a loyal custumer happy. I attached a picture of my problem and if anyone knows where i can purchase the weatheer strip, please let me know. 10 years ago Comfort was a good company, Today I would not recommend them to anyone. This shows where the new install went into complete rot!

I'm not sure where to start... The windows should have never been installed given what the installers saw when they started the job. They called the supervisors who said go ahead. Fast forward 6 months after I have contractors come it to replace trim and turns out the framing was so bad they had to tear the whole front of the house off to rebuild the framing etc. I was asked why the windows were ever installed and shown where they had basically "made it work". I was also told they would have to remove the windows to fix the rot. When I called comfort to ask someone to come out and take a look at how and why things were done I was told they were "too busy" and basically blown off. I was also told that the warranty would be void if the contractors removed the windows (basically leaving me with no choice). So not only did I void the warranty on the bottom windows but also had to pay for contractors to remove and re install the windows that should have never been out in in the first place. Now fast forward to now. A little over a year since the original installation and one of the upstairs windows that was never removed won't close. I have a 2 inch gap in my bedroom window letting in cold air. The room is freezing. I am going in 3 weeks waiting for them to even return my phone call and keep being told they are "very busy and backlogged". I'm sorry but I'm sure if someone calls to bug windows they don't take this long to return the call. Talk about poor customer service. I was told by the contractors to take the matter to small claims court but unfortunatmy at the time had a new baby and no time. Such a disappointment. If nothing else I hope this review steers you clear of a company that clearly just wants to make money, I know a number of my neighbors and family have gone elsewhere after hearing this horrible story!

Out with the old and in with the new!

The sales team -- especially Mike G. -- was spectacular. They spent several hours with me over multiple visits helping me understand how to evaluate different options and ultimately recommending the best solution for my specific situation. I never felt pressured, only supported and well-informed. The installation experience was perhaps one of the best I've ever had with any home improvement company. The Rochester Colonial team was highly skilled, professional, and incredibly respectful of my home. Unlike other contractors I've used in the past, they used plastic barriers to wall off the work area so dust and dirt didn't spread throughout the house. They paid attention to every detail and even mopped the floor before leaving. The craftsmanship, professionalism, and customer care exceeded my expectations. I couldn't recommend Rochester Colonial more highly.

I am very disappointed with my experience at 84 Lumber last weekend. I went there hoping to find…read morebetter-quality materials and more professional and knowledgeable employees than I typically encounter at the local big-box stores. Unfortunately, neither was the case. The pressure-treated boards are stored outside in the parking lot, and the majority of the boards I looked at were bent and twisted. I purchased a couple hundred dollars' worth of pressure-treated lumber from 84 Lumber, but chose to purchase the rest from Home Depot. I'm very happy that I did. I also special-ordered a small amount of Trex decking and asked if it could be cut into shorter lengths so I could transport it more easily. I was told that this would be no problem, but that cuts could only be made in 1-foot increments. I was also told the material would take approximately a week to arrive. After waiting a week, I went to the store to check on the order and was told that the order had never actually been placed and that I would have to wait another week. I had taken a week off from work specifically to build this deck, so this mistake delayed the completion of my project by another week or more. I eventually received a voicemail saying the material had arrived and was ready for pickup. I went to the store on Saturday morning, only to find that the material had not been cut yet. Two of the boards I ordered were 20 feet long. I understand that decking boards are often slightly oversized, so I asked if they could be cut in half at 120.5 inches so I would have two 10-foot boards, which was what my project required. I was told no because store policy only allowed cuts in 1-foot increments. Unfortunately, the employee making the cuts also had a very poor attitude and, in my opinion, went out of his way to do a careless job. I will be attaching pictures showing the different cut lengths from this order. While the cuts were being made, I asked another employee whether the special-color-matched deck screws required pre-drilling and, if so, what drill-bit diameter was recommended. He told me the recommended pre-drill size was 1.875 inches. He was otherwise very nice and courteous, but that answer was obviously questionable and did not inspire confidence in the product knowledge at the store. Maybe you will have a better experience if you are a contractor doing a lot of business with them, but as a DIY homeowner, my experience was extremely disappointing. Based on this experience, I would recommend that other homeowners consider shopping elsewhere. I expected better quality, better communication, and better customer service from 84 Lumber. Unfortunately, I did not get any of the three.
