I'm so glad I did. This location is very unassuming. You might pass it without even realizing it as it's in a very nondescript office space area near the airport. But once you walk in, you can easily be overwhelmed with the sheet volume of inventory they have. It was great to see! I will say they tend to favor older issues and most of them are only semi organized in long boxes so you might have to do some flipping through to find things, but I guarantee you will be rewarded. I was able to come across several back issues that I had been looking for and some I didn't know I had been looking for. And when I asked them if they had any other variants from the series I had bought from them off eBay, they happily pulled out a long box from the back full of them that they flipped through and let me hand pick what I needed. That was some fantastic customer service. Even on a busy day like FCBD. Speaking of customer service, the two workers who were there were so incredibly friendly and helpful. From talking to my 3 young sons who were with me to chatting about what I was looking for and how I could find it. I was really impressed. I have a feeling that if it wasn't so busy, they would've walked over and searched with me just because they care that much. Honestly, if I didn't live in Los Angeles, this would become my local shop hands down. But, I can guarantee when I'm in Orange County and am looking for anything, I will absolutely be coming by to check out what they have. And, I will definitely be stopping at their eBay shop first if I'm looking for anything online. Do yourself a favor. Check out Alakazam. If you're a comic book fan, it will be worth your time. And if you're just thinking about getting in to comics, this would be a great place to start your journey.

It is a comic book store. A rare breed of retail thrice over. For one they deal in books, a dying…read moremedium, and then it is niche books, and finally not owned by a giant corporation which let's be frank, you need to be to survive in this world at times. So..... run on sentence out of the way now, Nuclear comics is pretty awesome in case you were still wondering. It is definitely more comics focused, eschewing a hybrid approach of gaming, comics and all things geek under one retail roof. They have a great collection. You walk in and it's shelves stacked! The staff member there was awesome. We chatted a bit, he made some recs, was awesome to my kids (teens) and just generally the kind of person you want at any establishment. A very easy 5 stars from me :)

In there own words "Look kiddo, there's NO SET BUY PRICE for anything in the collectors world. As a business owner of 3 DECADES, my job is to purchase anything and everything at the best price FOR ME, to profit and pay my bills to keep the doors open! I don't want to sound too condescending but you're like 10 years old with 5 years life experience so you applying rules to things that have no rules, is childish and myopic! If you're cruising through an antique shop, and you run across something that's worth $1000, but it's marked $3, do you buy it and score something great or do you volunteer your information and not buy the item? With your logic, everyone who buys the the thing for $3 bucks is a scammer, but the deal is fair & square! Perspective, little man!" Some of my favorite number 1's - found these raw in the bin. Reasonable pricing (thanks Kenny) means I'll be back!

They are SO nice here!…read more I always stop by when I'm picking up a drink in a same complex to see if they have tcg in stock. Their pricing is usually about $10 more than msrp, which is honestly so good compared to buying directly from resellers. They're always so friendly too! I also love that they limit pokemon tcg to one item per person. So if they have booster bundle and etbs, you can only choose one of them. They also sell loose packs from a booster box, where you can buy a max of 6. I truly love that they limit everyone to one so that there's enough to go around. We've been able to score some packs for decent pricing since pokemon had an uptake in collectors :) Aside from that, they also sell smiskis and sonny angels as well for about msrp!

A family member told us to try if they have it at game chest for Lorcana trove or anything from the new attack of the vine Lorcana set. I called first and then a lady on the phone said they have troves in stock. So we came in. Waited patiently in store to ask if they had any troves, saying we called ahead. The workers, lady and a man behind the registers "checked" to see if they had any stock, they looked at each other and asked if we played there in store. Not wanting to lie, we said no, and they immediately said no that they didn't have any stock. It was obvious they were lying. How can any person with a conscience lie like that to people and lie to family? We even told them this is how we encourage our son to read. But nothing. We aren't scalpers, we want to play the game. As a family. Being treated like that really leaves a bad impression and gatekeeping product for "their" players isn't cool. And if they want to do that they should set it aside and not include it in their stock. Or just say they don't have any. I can be okay with that. But to drive all the way there and ask and be treated like that makes me want to not support your business or play in your shop.

It was good to attend the Festival! The brochure is available near the entrance. The center of the…read morebrochure contained good information: a map, a schedule for each stage, and a list of vendors. But that info was not widely available. There is room for better communication. * Approaching Parking Lot 2. As we drove east on Hornet, the sign said to keep going, but lanes were coned off to turn right on Phantom. Someone stood in the junction as if they were IPD directing traffic, but they did not direct traffic. That caused congestion as people stopped to ask them to ask for info. Next year, remove the person directing traffic and put signs BEFORE Phantom. * Entering Lot 2 took a long time and there was a long tailback on Phantom. Need signs in both lanes to state that "Parking $10 cash or card". Then we can get payment ready and keep the lines moving. While that info is on the website, not everyone checks beforehand. * Events were organized by stage. It was easy to find which event was on which stage but hard to find which stage was which. Even when we got to the stage, it was unlabeled! I checked the website for the festival and could not identify the stages. Need to label each stage. Especially important for first time visitors. * Need QR codes linking to the map. * We enjoyed the Great Park Live area. Most people approached the area and tried to walk into the exit because it was closer! A Police Explorer had to direct almost everyone to move to the entrance further along. Needs big signs "Exit Only" and "-- Entrance". * Driving out of Lot 2. No signs to the exit. We drove towards Hornet and found that exit closed off. We tried Phantom, but vehicles were coming in. Traffic exiting Lot 2 had to cut dangerously across pedestrians and cars entering from Phantom, to turn left on Corsair. Also, there were many pedestrians coming that way from the venue near closing time. Need to separate vehicle exits from pedestrian traffic. * We see a pattern. Great Park events tend to be very good but weak in communication. Events are clear to the organizer but may not be to the attendees. Attendees must deal with traffic jams, steps, wheelchairs, heat, crowds, and noise, or are managing children. Organizers should write all comms as if they are the first-time attendee.
