Would not recommend this place. The person we dealt with was incredibly rude. Took a 4 year old in and it was his first time in a comic store and he was super stoked. I asked for some help was shrugged off and was told to read the sign at the entrance. I am paraphrasing but the sign basically says, "If you don't know what you are looking for go ruin another store". The only reason I bought anything was because I told my nephew we would we get him a spiderman comic and I didn't want to drive across town to find another place. Never coming back here again. Stopped by to check out this shop..... I shouldn't have. Don't know how it stays in business as the selection is beyond wack. The warning at the entrance of the store should have been a sign of how disorganized this store is. Nope, never going here. I made a phone call asking a simple question and it was hostile from the start. He was accusing me of not picking up a comic that I haven't even requested yet and had a rude tone going. Not sure who spat on his comics this morning but he needs to learn some customer service skills if he's going to run a business for a dying medium. Go to any other comic store but here. This place is what all Comic Geeks aspire to be. Not completely but in a weird nerdy kind of way. It's like his personal warehouse of everything he collected and he wants to share it with others who love comic books. Everything else is simply fluff for the non comic book nerds. I'm in San Diego and if I need something that's a Key book I go to this guy because 9 out of 10 times he's had what I'm looking for and honestly way below going price. Service is what I would expect. Slow, some thinking and then the light goes off and he's off to find the book you want. If he doesn't have it he knows and it's next question. I'd known that JNJ was in my area but only now visited for the first time. Their selection is expansive--it's a great place to just get lost in looking at books! I spent most of my time looking at the newer issues and the trade paperbacks, but would love to return to pour over the discount section. The feeling of nostalgia as I entered is irreplaceable. I was floored by the selection -- wall-to-wall comic boxes, toys, and memories. I was looking to fill gaps in my X-Men collection, and I hit the gold mine here. If you're looking for Funko Pops, stick to Hot Topic at the mall. The owner was gracious, helpful, and humorous. Grateful to still have a local comic book store that focuses on the customer and brings in a lot of new books and back issues so there is always something new to find. It's not stack full of funko pops and non-comic book merch. Great selection if trying to fill in those back issues and prices are very reasonable. There are keys and slabs as well. The owner is very helpful and engaging and I had a great chat with him while browsing. I'd recommend stopping by and stocking up on some great books for the collection. I only discovered this place because it popped up as a "Gift" location on my Pokemon Go app. I stopped by to check out the store and to see if they had any Pokemon cards to purchase for my friend's kid. I arrived on Wednesday right before the store opened, and there was already a line. Wondering why everyone else was there, I asked the gentleman in front of me. He said every Wednesday, the store releases new comic books. Knowing how much my boss loves comic books, I decided to grab a few for him. The shoppers were so friendly and kind enough to educate me on the comic books. They showed me how to tell which ones are the rare comic books, how to anticipate for new releases 3 months prior, and even got Jeff, the store owner to grab me a few rare comic books he kept hidden in the back. I love the community they have going on. And Jeff is such an awesome and knowledgeable guy! He even let me pet his dove that knows how to do tricks! Needless to say, I left the store with pokemon cards and a few comic books that day... and came back the following week with a friend to show off this hidden gem. read more

This place is will now be my go to weekly comic book location. Jeff is amazing and is down to earth. Seeing all the long boxes was overwhelming at first, but all you have to do is ask Jeff for some guidance and begin you're hunt! This is how comic book stores should be. Great deals. Comics Adventures: First walked into this place in the mid-2000's and immediately struck by the eclectic setting: dim lighting, numerous long boxes, birds in cages calling out and the rocking tunes (a little loud for me now in 2020). Organized back issues but new comics are spread out across multiple counters and shelves. Goes with the general "work in progress" vibe of the place. Mainly comics with random 90's toys and pins in glass cases. Plenty of parking in strip mall lot. COVID protocols: Temp check, hand sanitizer, masks required and reduced number of patrons inside store at a time. read more

But there's something about the dingy aesthetic and the lack of being able to quickly access the wall of higher end comics which makes this spot kinda a drag. Worth a visit, but there's a lot of chit-chat and hand-holding with the owner to ascertain whether certain comics are even in the shop. And, he's also working with some injuries so you might have to come back or feel like a jerk for asking him to move stuff around, climb a ladder, find a comic guide, and give you a price. The man I spoke to was not friendly what so ever and was extremely defensive and rude.
